    Allan, the fact that you can make gorgeous quick sketches out of cheap watercolors is a testament to your skill and talent. The art community is indebted to you for taking time to film and edit FREE, UNSPONSORED, informative and comparative reviews for students, hobbyists, professionals and people on tight budgets. No other youtuber compares a set to the vast array of other watercolors all the way from pro colors to dollar store paints. Your work is joyful and we are a grateful community for your videos.

      Thank you so much Joh W for recognizing what I do. It really takes a lot of effort and time specially the editing, but all the sacrifices get reciprocated everytime viewers get and learn something.. it's not a time wasted for me, when the videos has served its purpose which is to help and inspire. Thank you to the community. God bless.

    My lovely artistic person. You are a wonderful fine artist. The nasty remark you received days ago did not reflect anything bad of your art but the jealousy of the person who sought to tear you down. You have no reason apologize or explain your how’s and why’s of your review of the artwork, when all honesty it is a review of the watercolor. Please excuse my poor grammar and language but screw them. You have gorgeous paintings and you will not let this troll bring you down. This is your wonderful hobby and you will do as you please. God bless you and have a wonderful week. ❤️

      Thank you for always cheering me up and for your full support and appreciation. Even if we know our limits and strengths we still have this low times. We are vulnerable during those times and we learn from it. The commenter has apologized (though i wasnt requiring), and explained in another video, so I believe, it is better now. Your Englis is fine, no worries. 🎨🙏🏻

    I think the Art Ranger is more likely their student grade line while the Basics is their kiddie watercolor line. Still, this is a good set for kids to play with compare to those chalky watercolor cakes we used during gradeschools. 😁 Another great review Allan!👍

    • @AllanJayQuesada
      @AllanJayQuesada  4 года назад +1

      Yes I agree with you. Basing on the performances of Basics and Art Ranger, it seems that the latter is the higher grade.. the thing that confuses me is that they have almost the same price.. hehe. I wish to find their artist grade.

    • @AllanJayQuesada
      @AllanJayQuesada  4 года назад +1

      Thank you so much, LunaBianca. 🙏🏻☺️ As an architect who was trained to draw hard lines, hard edges, and color based on precise material swatches, it was challenging to transition to this style in watercolor where the rendering is fluid, relaxed and informal. It's glad to know that there are many artists like you who understand this expression. 🎨☺️

    • @LunaBianca1805
      @LunaBianca1805 4 года назад

      You're welcome 🥰 There's so many people spouting mean things and trolling around that I always feel like piping up and commenting something nice for a change 😊
      Well, I started drawing and painting before I even studied and I just finished my BA in architecture and city development this spring, so I know both sides, too 😁 If I wanted correct clean colours I'd rather print the picture or paint with acrylics (or just any opaque paint, really) What use would a translucent colour have if you don't use the background colour of your paper 🤔? And with how fast those water colours usually dry, working in a more impressionistic or expressionistic one rather than a super detailed realistic one, makes much more sense, too ;)

    i have a 12 colors set with the same packaging of the tubes as this but the brand is "art nation", bought it in pandayan haha. idk if its the same company or what but quality is similar. i upgraded to the 24 sonnet full pans and no regrets~. im planning to buy the holbeins 12 colors in tubes since some of the colors im looking for are not included in sonnet. love your channel btw!♡

      I saw that Art Nation set too at Art Bar. and since its also a Magiwap brand, they could just be the same paints. Holbein is definitely a good update. You may also consider White NIghts , Sennelier, or Schmincke as other great tube paints alternatives. Thank you dumbyeci. :)

      Hi Didi. I love Teoh too from Singapore. I'm quite relieved to learn that I don't sound overwhelming despite me mentioning alot about my love for PB29, PR101, PBk31 and PG50 and hate for fugitive pigments. 😆 Thank you so much, Didi.

    • @didi7074
      @didi7074 4 года назад

      @@AllanJayQuesada You welcome! And opss, I wrote his name wrong...It's Teoh, not Teo apparently, my bad 😅. I would be ok with fugitive pigments if the price was worth it, but since they cost the same as lighfast pigments, what's the point? Imagine buying a Daniel Smith tube that costs like 15$ but it's fugitive...I don't think it's worth it, it will quickly fade and you can't sell any painting made with it!

    • @AllanJayQuesada
      @AllanJayQuesada  4 года назад +1

      @@didi7074 yeah, Teoh of Praka blogs. That's ok. Hehe. We both know him. Yes, i prioritize lightfast colors too. I have bad experience with fading paints, which i might share in my future uploads. Anyway, at Daniel Smith, the only fugitive color i know is their Opera. Though it uses PR122 (a pigment included at handprint's top40 Pigments), it is consistent across all brands that Opera is a fugitive color. So i avoid the Opera color. Id be happy to use magenta to achieve a close alternative. ☺️🎨

    I also have this Watercolor brand with 6 colors which I got for Christmas.I noticed that they don’t move that much and they are kinda opaque. Also in the set I have, they included cerulean blue but I think I’d prefer if they included a darker blue instead since adding water can make it lighter. I think I would grade it 6/10. I like how the colors are kinda intense and vibrant. I also like its thick consistency. I like to use this when I’m experimenting or trying new techniques and style 😄🎨
