    Thank you so much sir. This is so helpful in explaining what the doctors are so concerned about when my daughter went for her first pregnancy visit. She thought she was 10 weeks. The ultrasound person said that she could see the baby, but couldn't find a heartbeat and the baby was only showing as 7 weeks. They also did a vaginal ultrasound and still couldn't hear a heartbeat. The hcg test is reading 16,607. They are thinking this may be a missed miscarriage. She goes back for another hcg test tomorrow and another ultrasound in 2 weeks. My daughter had told me that the ultrasound pictures were abnormal. This video explains a lot. Thank you.

    Thank you for this video. From a colleague: patient presented to ER with significant bleeding/ at 11 weeks. POCUS demonstrates strong fetal heartbeat of approximately 180 bpm, and the doctor suggests subchorionic hematoma via POCUS and she was told to go home, all is good. She says that what she saw on the screen vs in your video isn't a perfect match, but tough to confirm as there are no saved images. ER doc's conclusion of no threat to the pregnancy lined up because tachycardia isn't a typical precursor for miscarriage, bleeding in first trimester can happen. Patient had a proper ultrasound booked for Friday. Unfortunately, patient returns the following day to ER after more blood loss, confirmed miscarriage (~24 hrs between POCUS studies). Obviously without seeing any images, does subchorionic hematoma line-up with a diagnosis or does one of the other options seem to make more sense? Or would spontaneous miscarriage serve as a better explanation? Thank you again.

    • @DrSamsImagingLibrary
      @DrSamsImagingLibrary  8 месяцев назад +3

      Hi! The presence of a subchorionic hematoma does increase the risk of miscarriage, but many pregnancies with a subchorionic hematoma proceed without major complications. The size of the hematoma, its location, and the gestational age can all influence the risk associated with it. While tachycardia isn't typically a precursor for miscarriage, a persistently elevated FHR could indicate fetal distress. The unfortunate event of the miscarriage the next day could have been related to the subchorionic hematoma or could have been due to other reasons. While a subchorionic hematoma can increase the risk, it's not the only cause of early pregnancy loss. Chromosomal abnormalities are a common reason for first trimester miscarriages, and these are not predictable based on ultrasound findings. Thank you for watching!

    If someone bleeds at 25th n had miscarriage then when did the problem started inside? ..wanna know the which causes lead to it..did the bleeding starts immediately after losing heartbeats ?

    • @DrSamsImagingLibrary
      @DrSamsImagingLibrary  10 месяцев назад

      Very sorry to hear about this. There are various causes for bleeding and miscarriage to occur. These include chromosomal abnormalities, hormonal imbalances, any abnormalities in the shape of the uterus/cervix, infections, lifestyle factors and uncontrolled preexisting conditions (diabetes, hypertension, etc.) Bleeding may not necessarily start immediately after the loss of a heartbeat. In some cases, a miscarriage may be discovered at a routine ultrasound without any preceding symptoms, this is called a missed miscarriage. In other cases, bleeding and cramping may be the first signs of a miscarriage. Bleeding can occur as the body starts to expel the nonviable pregnancy. It is best to consult with a Gynecologist. Best Wishes!

    • @DrSamsImagingLibrary

      Even though the gestational sac is very small, it is still too early to declare it as a failed pregnancy because it is at 5 weeks and 2 days. There is a chance that the embryo may still be seen at around 6-7 weeks so it is better to wait and hope for the best. Best Wishes!

    • @DrSamsImagingLibrary

    • @DrSamsImagingLibrary
      @DrSamsImagingLibrary  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hello. A subchorionic hemorrhage is a collection of blood between the chorion (a membrane that surrounds the embryo) and the uterine wall. In some cases, a subchorionic hemorrhage can resolve on its own without causing issues. However, if it increases in size or does not resolve, it may cause some complications. Further evaluation and monitoring on ultrasound is recommended.
