Wow what a strange co- incidence I just heard this now on June 11 2024. What is the singer Annisette doing now? Is she still singing in a band? Where is this band from anyone know?
She’s still going strong @@michaelcraig9449, playing concerts. She turned 75 in August last year. Savage Rose is a Danish band, I don’t know if you can see it, do a search for “Rebel for livet”, it’s a documentary about Savage Rose made by Denmarks Radio (television). It might not be available outside Denmark/with subtitles.

@@michaelcraig9449Hey Michael. The band is Danish, though I seem to recall Thomas and Annisette living abroad for many years. I also seem to recall her moving back to Denmark after his death, as she resides here now. She's still very much active not only with her band and music, but also with her activism, which includes solidarity concerts to bring awareness to the plight of oppressed peoples, as well as to other global issues such as global warming or war. If there is a protest going on in Copenhagen against some sort of obvious injustice, you'll find her there. She's one of those people where personally, I think she'll be marching for peace and in solidarity until she drops dead... and that is a glorious thing!
I saw them in August 1968 during my holidays on the island of Bornholm at the age of 16. It was a wonderful concert and the warm up band Moneymakers was also great. I never forget this exciting evening with Savage Rose (I still have the newspaper cut with the report on that evening saying "Anisette - en vild rose")

Min første LP var Savage Roses "Travelin'", min første "rigtige" koncertoplevelse var med Savage Rose i Virumhallen i februar 1969, og jeg har stadig den efterfølgende koncertomtale i Virumposten med billeder....
I only have heard one lp in 1971 0n gregar label..it was phenomenal ..about the time I heard the first carmen lp...fandangos in spave!!. Killer stuff..Thanks
thank you Jim ! i've been racking my brains and distant musical memories for a link...You are just about correct here. It definitely ressembles You Only Live Twice. But her's is much more subtle. Still have a strange feeling she borrowed the couplets' melody from some Serge Gainsbourg song. He was famous for meandering minor mode melodies charged with quizzical lyrics. Anyway....i'm still hunting. The other one melody that still haunts me is Evening's Child. ( Imagine ! even Robert Christgau couldn't trace those two songs to their roots ) Cheers !

feeling the same way. 2023 NPR Tiny Desk Concert of the year goes to a group that clearly was influenced by Kpop of the last 10 years, but the judges claimed to have "never heard anything like this!" what??!!

The Savage Rose actually gained some popularity in the States in the 60s, however, I seem to recall learning that they became ostracized for their very obvious anti war statements at the time, limiting their progression there. The US wasn't ready for them then, aren't ready for them now, and by the looks of things, probably won't be for the next 200 years!
Great music! For the ones who love this kind of voice and music I would suggest the 2 records from early 70s recorded by the italian band "Circus 2000". Sung in english, You will live them as well.
Ilse Maria Koppel was Thomas Koppels girlfriend and member of the early Band and played harpsicord. She looks sad maybe because she could see somethibg was happening between Thomas and Singer Annisette.
The drummer, Alex Riel, passed away yesterday morning, June 9th. 2024.
Thank you for what you and Savage Rose created, music that lives forever.

I have loved this since I first heard it in 1969. It still sends shivers up and down my spine!
Hørte det her nummer for første gang i dag, hold nu op en lækker energi 🌻
Fantastic! Wow, what a vokal! And Koppel’s sound on the piano. He was a damn great composer!

For me this one is in TOP 5 from year 1968. Great tune!
So strong and beautiful 🙏🏻
Just super.....best Danish singer ever !
I was young then, and gosh did I love that singing. I even cut my hair like her :) I still like that singing.
FANTASTISK!!!
Og til Alex som så stort på konventionerne.
This is so good, it just oozes class. So good that it wouldn't be out of place in a James Bond movie. Fantastic band.
Fantastisk video... elsker dette nummer.

Amazing vocals -- Annsette. Just great.....like a combo of better Janis Joplin and Grace Sick combined.....truly extordinary!
and the only reason she didnt make the headlines and the big scenes was/is she is true to herselve- and she doesnt compromise for money
You nailed it!

Haunting.
So heartbreaking, but a normal situation for us 50 and 60 generation woman
Super cool...Sounds like the intro to a James Bond movie starring Sean Connery. And I mean that in the most complimentary way. Such pipes!

Nicht schlecht, herr Specht!

Annisette Koppel was ond of the best vocals.
Maria had a hard job.
smuk sang til minde om en pige hvis liv fik en meget sørgelig ende
Hvem var pigen?
Vakkert.
steppenwolf has a song with same title
What is the song about?
About a girl I knew.
Minnie Mouse on Bella donna skrev een. Og lidt James Bond.
And Maria Koppel's role in the band was...?
Mark Schilling To play the cembalo.
Why is that girl sittng there?
