    We have lived on our property for 21 years…and we finally have the first squirrel ever! I was so excited I went to my moms, grabbed some bird seed from her, drove home and put up a feeder in one of the trees by our kitchen window. Today I got to watch this little guy cruise up and down all of our trees…he finally spotted the bird feeder…he was fat and happy after about 30 minutes. Little things in life impress me now. Lol we see plenty of deer and elk out here but this little squirrel will be treated like a king. 😊 gorgeous campground guys. Enjoy the warm weather. It’s 45 degrees and gettin colder up here in the PNW. 😳

    Well, I don't know about your squirrels, but when they spy Otis, there is absolutely NO stopping the conversation! 😁 The closing of the sites happened here as well...people often wondered why as the distance is well over the 3 metre physical distancing. But I did have the opportunity to talk to a park ranger, and he had explained to me that it wasn't the sites that was the concern, but the capacity of the washrooms, as here there were signs limiting them to one person at a time...so I guess that made sense. That is an absolutely amazing park, especially for Florida where it can be so expensive in some of the campgrounds. Great find! Watching this on Dec 1, and we are having our first snow! It won't last, but Otis is happy! ❄ Thanks for the tour! Bruce and Otis

    • @GrassRootsLiving
      @GrassRootsLiving  2 года назад +1

      I guess it does make sense with the washroom capacity. However, you would think that they would just limit the washroom and not the campground spaces. Especially since a majority of people are just using their own bathroom. First snow sounds awesome! The high today is suppose to be 75 degrees F (24 degrees C). Thanks again for your comment. :)

Probably how everyone thinks “EARTHQUAKE” when they see Cali! 🤣 Hope you get a chance to see Steve and Jill Turtle (work campers) on the plantation. That would be a great collaboration video! That is so beautiful. I used to live in orange city Florida. I agree with the others, I’m afraid of a lot of the bodies of water in FL though because of gators. I’ve been scared by them several times myself. They are fast. But the oaks and moss are gorgeous.

    I seriously am not understanding closing sites at campgrounds. Especially when they're spaced so far apart. But really,, it can be a good thing. Probably makes them more quiet. Well except for the chattering Shalanes.... I mean squirrels!! They closed some of the forest service campgrounds in MO early this year due to not enough workers. Unfortunately, they didn't update that on the website so we didn't know until we got there. But whatever.. We had a backup. Wow! His beard is really white! That's crazy LOL. It's sort of a beach. Was that you I saw trying to surf on the Missouri river?? It is pretty. Was the facilities open? Wait trees get married??? Sheesh. By the time we get there, they'll have grandtrees. See what I did there?? LOL.

    • @GrassRootsLiving
      @GrassRootsLiving  2 года назад +1

      You are too funny!!! All of the facilities were open. Only half the campsite were closed. I am not sure about married trees. It was only a hunch. Grandtrees. lol Surely you will be in Florida before they have grandtrees. ;) lol Thanks!

    Beautiful campground, those nice big sites are really great. Glad you’re enjoying Florida. Doubt if I’ll ever get down there but would definitely put that place on my list if I do. No sewer is no problem as long as I have water access for longer stays. I normally dry camp (boondock) all summer, use solar panels to keep my batteries charged & run a hose from the nearest faucet once a week to fill my water tank. I just use the campground toilets all the time & share Blue Buddy duty with the other campers who are there for the whole summer. Twice weekly runs to the dump station keeps us all in good shape.

    • @GrassRootsLiving
      @GrassRootsLiving  2 года назад

      It sounds like this would be a perfect place for you to camp. You have all you need for boondocking. Thanks again for your comments. :)
