I went out to a japanese restaurant for my bday with my partner, and I wore kimono (he was my support :D). No one said anything, just the japanese staff & her friends and it was absolutely positive! Gave me a lot of confidance :)
This! I want to do this for my birthday. I hope the global situation will be better in the summer so japanese restaurants in my country can open and i can do exactly this, wearing a kimono to my birthday in a japanese restaurant.
This really makes me so happy. I always get so excited while I’m getting dressed but as soon as I get out on the street I immediately loose all that confidence. People always stare and it makes me fidgety and I’m always pulling and straightening things.
I've wanted to wear a kimono for so long and someday I will. It's so beautiful and elegant. I do worry that people will be mad at me for "culture appropriation" and that scares me. Or being called a geisha would be a tiny bit rude. That being said, I really want to move to Japan someday because I love the culture, food and people so much. I have some things to learn about wearing kimono and that makes me excited and happy.
I always DREAMED of wearing kimono. LIKE I WOULD DIE TO. I love the colors and patterns and the aforementioned symbolism. Ugh. I’m crying because it’s so gorgeous
Yay! I really liked the panel the first time and I'm so glad to be able to watch it again! Thank you! I have my confidence issues still, but they're sorta specific, I'm not yet sure how to address them, but I will probably work something out :3
Hi Billy! I’m just getting into the kimono world and i have yet to purchase an obiage and obimakura. Is there a way to make a make shift version of each? I imagine i can make an obi makura...but would a short scarf or piece of fabric be a suitable replacement for an obiage?
I love kimonos,I have about 10 kimonos and 8 yukatas, But in Thailand is a tropical climate, The weather is really Hot all year So I hardly wear them for any occasion!
Hi! I have a summer mofuku that has some sort of red stylized characters embroidered on the inside of the collar, i was wondering if maybe you'd know what it is?

Have you watched Kimono Mom? Wondering what she is wearing over her Kimono while cooking and housework. Is it a type of apron or work smock?
Very interesting! I would like to hear ideas on ways to incorporate/wear kimono with ‘western’ clothing. Thankyou ladies & Cheers!
Do you have any tips on wearing kimono for larger women? I find it difficult to find kimono that don't gap too much.
I’ll reply to your Instagram message tomorrow ❤️ (today is Sunday, so I’m taking a day off)
