I absolutely agree with this comment, though I’d personally add Ruby my dear, Noisia, igorrr, Amon Tobin & Hybris. Moody good/eddy Jeffrey’s a worthy mention too. 16 bit era was something else for bass music and at the time it was very unique. Venetian snares is another mention. Tsuruda and Alix Perez are also worth mentioning. Chee too. Tipper also.
Saw this comment a few days ago and now I'm listening properly on studio speakers with a snappy subwoofer added because I had the feeling they cared about things played under 80Hz, I wasn't wrong I bet the rest of the house loves me right now :D
Hmmm, what els is there to say guys...., the way you keep your aroma consistant in each one of your tracks is marvelous. I feel so connected to their music. I am very greatfull for your existence, thank you!
Just no words for this.. your music is priceless. I've been listening to you since adventure's Mr fox and.. I can't believe you can keep your underground roots and mix it with sounds and melodies in a track that fill the soul. You've done your job great again guys.
Apologies for this comment, I respect artists and their journey. I don't think there is a tune by KOAN Sound I dislike, but, .....I remember listening to The Adventures of Mr Fox waay back and thinking wow, these kids are taking beat music to a new level. Slightly later I was at the 2013 Glastonbury set and with my friends we agreed KOAN Sound was THE best act that year, better than Rolling Stones, better than the phenomenal Andy C, just throwing out beats that had no right to be mixed with each other, but totally working. We looked over at those two 12 year olds (jokes) thinking how are they doing this? I am far from having any authority to be critical, I do like the ambient music created since then, but I have to ask, what happened to those funky dance beats? Please forgive me, but the last many tunes I have listened to from KOAN Sound feel like they would be great as videogame/movie ambience, but not the trippy, what the hell is going on, dance beats of earlier. The production is still obviously second to none, but for me, it's easy listening, I want the hard listening that breaks my brain which KOAN pioneered but seemingly stopped after the one EP. With love, Billy x
the early glitch hop sound of them was amazing, i agree! but, what these guys are creating now, is truly beyond in artistic value... the perfect blend of organic and synthetic sounds. the emotions transported through their melodies combined with the otherworldly sounddesigns will be remembered for ages... simply spoken, they are one of the GOATs with what they create... at the end, it seems like a perfect evolution if you follow all their releases
Oh I'm relaxed.... I just listened to the new track! I was hoping to be slightly on edge though 😆It's all good, I appreciate the replies, I get it, I get the artists journey. Just no one (as far as I know) has flipped mixing beats like KOAN did in their early days, nor done so since (please correct me if wrong or point me in the direction if possible). My comment was not a complaint or moan, it was a sadness. The ambiance of their new stuff is just sublime, I do not question their talent, nor their artistic journey. I was merely trying to state how I miss what could have been; no other artist has scrambled beats cohesively like they did back in the day, they were, and are still unique in that area, to me at least. I wanted, and still yearn for more, thats all. No malice, no hate. I admit I'm a casual music fan these days, but I still desire the complexity of the new breed to scramble my brains, and KOAN Sounds, I thought, were the pioneers to do that. It was never a request, just a hope. Peace y'all ☮
KOAN sound is truly our modern day Aphex Twin - yourselves and Culprate are the two most incredible producers of this era in my opinion. Bigups guys!
