      Is it not true that the threat of tariffs influencing the dollar exchange to the upside, that will lessen demand from international buyers since they get less for the same amount of their own currency and the prospect of retaliatory tariffs will also increase the cost to end users which which lessen demand.

    Tariffs is a negotiating tool. I’m pretty sure the United States buys way more stuff from China than what Brazil has. Got to find out who holds what.

      No, it does not, and the U.S not part of BRICS or ASEAN. The investment in Brazil is HUGE.

      not so much effect than tariffs, as most high cost imputs will be affected by tariffs

    There are reports from China stating that their food prices are dropping by double digit percentages. It didn’t explain why, but it may be the relative weakness of the Brazilian and Argentine currencies.

    Good morning Mackenzie & Joe ! Back in oldschool days President Ford was pressured into Embargo against Russia ,they said bread was going to be $5 a loaf ,President Carter in 80 Russia in Afghanistan .Oh we must not forget tractor convoys Feb 79 Y'all know they got alot of snow and the Farmers came to the rescue Congress didn't pass the bill to help farmers. Now we got Trumpster maybe we all go down to Mar-A-Lago soak up the sun

    tarrifs will decrease export demand drastically, best program with tarrifs war will probably be increasing CRP acres and reinstating a set-aside progrm. Pay farmers to reduce supply to match domestic usage.
