Favorite Cowboy Bebop episode of all time. Just so creepy, noir, suspenseful, tonally different from any other episode. Spike is given an enemy that he doesn't understand, one that doesn't have any logic or rational motive behind his actions; he's just plain crazy and murderous. How do you deal with someone that can fly, vanish, ricochet bullets, never runs out of ammo or weapons, never loses stamina, and can't be talked down or reasoned with? Well, you get lucky. And throw a knife lol It was pretty risky to take it in this unsettling, horror-filled direction, but I'm glad they did. It made for one of the most insane and awesome episodes.
I love this track. It makes me feel uneasy for some reason. Then as you get to the end, you realize the constant low note playing in the background that has slowly been getting louder
Saw this episode as a kid when it was on Adult Swim and that ending man, it stuck with me I never forgot it. I'm 35 now finally watching through the BluRay as I've never watched the series front to back all the way. Been waiting for this episode to go through and it just did. Damn.
The atmosphere of the theme park was done incredibly well, it is so fucking creepy and somber. Pierre's death is hard to watch, he was a victim, and died scared.

Me too.He may have become something purely evil but you can‘t really blame him for it.He didn‘t choose to have his brain turned into gravy. He was like a child and who couldn‘t feel sorry for hearing a child scream in pain for his mommy.
Cowboy Bebop's creators were spot on with music, and which scenes to execute it in. Sadly better than some of the highest grossing blockbusters and shows being churned out today... Saddening.
Este episodio es de mis favoritos personales... Logra crear para mí algo de comedia involuntaria y gran terror algo surrealista... Eso es algo que no puedo decir de muchas cosas
When I was a kid, I dreamed of something like this, this fat man looked very much like mad Pierrot who tried to shoot me. When I first saw this episode, I remembered that dream perfectly and I was shocked

@@oledidriksen1804 no progress yet, I'm afraid. I've gotten a few of the songs on the requests list recorded and uploaded, but then had two conventions (my main job has me travel for conventions and expos) 700 and 1,100 miles from home, respectively. Three days after returning home from the second one, I've severely lacerated my right middle finger, which now has stitches. So between my schedule and injuries, my request list is at a temporary stop. The next two are the theme from "Mighty Morphing Power Rangers" and "Lonely is a Man Without Love" by Englebert Humperdinck, once I have the time and ability to return to my list.
Favorite episode in the show. It honestly haunted me for days afterwards and gave me a legitimate existential crisis. I can still recall exactly how I felt after watching it the first time and hearing this track takes me right back to that place.
My headcannon is that space land was shut down due to how dangerously designed the rides were and had tones of compliants from parents and teens getting injured hence why it's dark and gloomy when spike entered the park. Mars did not want to be known as the planet with a highly dangerous theme park
This ep made me so sad Mad Pierrot real name Tongpu, never wanted to be an experiment, that made him become a child in his mind. As a child he could no longer tell between right and wrong. Him crying for his mommy at his end spoke a lot he was now the child his mind had become showing how far back his main was he was scared a looking for someone who was not there. Now the wiki says he was one out of many in a series of clone iterations but it was never confirmed, I beat he was a homeless person the Inter-Solar System Police found, as it was them who did this, Spike at the end seeing that you can tellwith out know this man had horrible things done to him.
I just watched this episode incredibly stoned and my god it disturbed me. But it was a great episode. The ending of the episode is really what messed me up
Si ya de por si spike era una leyenda entre los caza recompensas y aun haci este personaje lo dejara a borde de la muerte da bastante mal rollo de todo de lo que es capaz que bueno que murio al final
I genuinely think this song has a creepy, and honestly, a maddening, overwhelming tone to the music. As far as I can tell it isn’t in a minor key (an off putting type of key for those who don’t know), so it doesn’t have any obvious signs to it being eerie. Maybe it has something to do with association? Does anyone possibly know? I’ve been wondering this ever since I watched the episode this song is in.
I believe what's giving it the creepy factor is a slight detuning of the instruments. Imperfect intervals that instead of sounding cheerful sound eerie.
The instruments seem slightly out of tune and there’s a lot of reverb in the mix. But let’s be real, has carnival music ever been anything other than creepy? 😂
@@ShadowDemon2228 you make a fair point since carnival music is often associated with clowns, which, as we all know, is creepy by association as well. And I noticed the elements of the music you mentioned as well (which I forgot to mention).
Session 6: an adult in the body of a child
Session 20: a child in the body of an adult

Please tell me I'm not the only one who was legitimately sad at the end of this episode.

I was many things, including sad.

Pierrot crying and calling for mommy.. just really hits that part of you.. :'(

i loved all horror themed episodes in the show
And it all happened just because Spike took a wrong turn on a street
you give the 🔪 too much credit. it's appropriate for a God to be taken down in its majesty by, of all things, the humble feline
I love this track. It makes me feel uneasy for some reason. Then as you get to the end, you realize the constant low note playing in the background that has slowly been getting louder
This is by far, my personal favorite episode of the show.
same, the end make me feel so weird man like i understand the message behind the ep but i can not explain
Ikr, I feel like its weird to like this one. But for some reason this episode was just so unique from everything I’ve ever seen. Really hit the spot.
I honestly don't know what freaked me out more, this episode or the way it ended.
Man. I hate theme parks.
Its ending was creepy

According to TvTropes, this circus is inspired by the one in Batman the Animated Series.
It’s called Space Land and is a mockery of Bebop itself
Love how it gets progressivley darker and more twisted... creepy.
After that episode, I will never see amusement parks the same way again. But on the other hand, this is one of the best episodes in the show.

Somewhere in-between 1:05 and 1:06 the image changed and it legitimately creeped me out
I slowed it down and it’s a picture of the fat guy smiling
I ended up toggling play and pause till I got the picture, and honestly, even as I was doing this, it even scared me for some reason.

Just finished the 2021 version of Cowboy Bebop. Have to say that the original Le Fou theme is the best.
Every handful of years I rewatch Cowboy Bebop. As both a child and an adult, I can't help but pity Mad Pierrot.
I'm 40 and I re-watch the series and the movie around every 5 years, I didn't watch the NETFLIX version cuz i don't want to get disappointed.
