I miss the Seven Springs tavern in old White Plains New York. I don't miss the booze or the fights, but I miss the time that it was there. I miss my friends mostly gone.
White Plains is a different town now.

    This may strike
    others as strange,
but I didn't care for his biggest hit,
    "Easy Loving," and
I love Freddie Hart! I returned to
listen to this great song again. I wish
    the violins were
    louder, and the
fantastic sounding piano had been played
    throughout, with
    more notes and
    chords. I always
    liked Freddie's
    good
    old big boy humble
    and gracious Alabama accent.
And his emotionally charged voice touchess the deepest recesses of the heart. For a good dose
    of this google him
on: "Where He Leads Me I Will
Follow," a live stage performance. (Bianca,
    can you post the
    studio recording
    of "Hard Times"
by the Wilburn Brothers? Only their live stage
    version from their
    TV show is on
    you tube, and the
    song writers are
    not listed, nor can
I find anything elsewhere on you tube about them.
    Respectfully.😃)

    • @BeMisty

I do have a copy of that song, but it's a mono promo one... The song: "Wilburn Brothers - Hard Times Have Been Here" is released in 1972 on the B-Side of the single "Opryland". "Hard Times Have Been Here" is written by Damon Black

    • @miltonmoore5294
      @miltonmoore5294 6 лет назад +6

      Dear Bianca:
Thanks for the swift reply. I never
      knew of Damon
Black, but I assumed he had
      to have a rustic
      country background to
      write a song like
"Hard Times." Indeed, he was a
      Missouri farmer.
He was born in Bonne Terre, Missouri in 1939,
      and died aged 66
      in 2005 after a
      long 4 year stretch
      of undisclosed
      health issues. He
      got lucky when
      Walmart gave him
      $3,500,000 for
      his farmland, and
he moved to Nashville to write
      hits for Porter Waggoner, Mel
Tillis, The Wilburn Brothers, et. al.
      With appreciation
      for your kind assistance, and
      deep respect for
      always crediting
      the songwriters
      in your descriptions, something few
      channel operators
are concerned with, yet the most important thing TO DO, for without the songwriters,
      we have NOTHING.

Liked it all except for the two phrases he went
into falsetto. The only singers who
    sounded good to
    me when they
    occasionally shifted into falsetto were
    David Houston,
    Slim Whitman,
    and Frank Ifield in
just one song: I REMEMBER YOU.
    Superbly orchestrated!
    LONG LIVE FREDDIE HART!😃
