Croatian Christmas Song - Oj pastiri, čudo novo (Oh shepherds, a new miracle) (Synthesizer Cover)

This song with a well-known melody appears for the first time in the hymnbook of the Slavonic Franciscan Marijan Jaić from Vukovar "Napivi bogoljubnih pisama" ("Chants of pious songs"), Budapest 1850, and then in Zagreb's "Pjevnik" ("Songbook"), Zagreb 1895. The Cecilians neglected it because of the less valuable melody and it almost fell into disrepair. And it would be a real shame, because the words are one of the best Christmas songs. The song "To all on earth" is a song of the angel's hymn: "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace..." (Lk 2:14). And in this song, the heart of our Belief is sung: "Who came down from heaven for the sake of us people and for the sake of our salvation."
And this song, like so many others, is inspired by the angel's announcement to the shepherds of Bethlehem. Let's hear it literally: "There were shepherds in that area: they kept watch over their flocks under a clear sky. The Angel of the Lord approached them, and the Glory of the Lord shone on them... The Angel said to them: "Do not be afraid! Here I bring you good news, a great joy for all the people. Today, in the city of David, a Savior was born to you - Christ the Lord. And here is a sign for you: you will find a newborn baby swaddled, lying in a manger'" (Lk 2:9-12).
