In life, he made music.
In death, he is music.
9 Minutes and 40 seconds of shivers..
Perfection
Suffering through Autism, Death Anxiety, every second it feels like a horrifying oblivion coming over me.
I"m truly indebted to Nujabes n many other artists from Japan.
Your music will live inside me as long as i can able to live.
Bless your spirit, Sir.
I'm sorry you feel that way, I hope you don't have to go through it alone brotha
Hi, I had a friend translate the parts with missing translation. I see in your description you're thinking of adding subs if possible. Since community subs are disabled I can't do much other than uploading the translation, but let me know if I can help either way. Thanks for uploading!
Text:
Nujabes was widely loved both in his home country and abroad as a DJ and hip-hop track maker.
On February 26, 2010, he passed away due to an unexpected traffic accident. As a memorial event for him, musicians he had collaborated with throughout his life came together to host “Nujabes Eternal Soul”.
Shing02:
Well, I live in America, but I talk to a lot of people from many different countries, and right now even kids around their 20’s are saying they are Nujabes fans, which I find astonishing.
Nujabes was really a phenomenon - he became some kind of movement. Honestly I’m still surprised I was there with him.
What I think was unique about him, was his way of stacking sounds, his sampling methods. Something about it gives off a sense of nostalgia. A feeling like looking back, even as you are looking forward. I think his music has that kind of feeling.
Uyama Hiroto:
New… it’s hard to say if it’s new. Well, his music has a lot of aspects of old music mixed into it. And it’s like that has been put into a modern form and is being put out there. Well, in that way, I guess you could say it is new.
Every day when I work with Kou, I remember him. Even now I feel like I can hear his voice saying things like “Let’s get through this!”. But.. In the middle of all that, he passed away...But today he is here! Well, I think he is with us today. My goal is to… I hope I can help him find his way home with the music I am making now. (Note: He mumbled a lot in the last part, so I might have gotten some of it wrong)
My God that piece that Uyama Hiroto played at the end moved me from the soul. I wanted to laugh, jump with joy, and curl up and cry all at the same time! Much love to Nujabes. Rest in Peace, but not so deeply that you can't hear the love of your fans.
The "Ryuichi Sakamoto" of Hip Hop.
RIP to Nujabes, bringing a fresh revolution to hip-hop music. This one, man from Japan revolutionized hip-hop beats and true hip-hop at hits heart. Bringing back what East Coast USA did for hip-hop of the past. This documentary goes out not just to fans of his work, but people who want REAL good music. Not mainstream.
I'm grateful I discovered Nujabes , Uyama Hiroto , Shing02 , Segawa Tatsuya ...
crying right now.
if there are any japaneese speaking fans watching this video it would be greatly appreciated if you could translate.
Funky DL's performance is what a good rapmusic liveshow should be like. Sth. that adds or brings sth new to the track you hear on CD. Not just a half-baked rendition that actually sounds worse on stage. So, great performance. Would have loved to be there!
He's also a fantastic producer himself. Knows his shit.
even now his music is the center of my life. RIP Nujabes
that ending scene did it for me. a very touching scene. Rest In Paradise.
Rest in peace inspiration...
Still crying. That was some incredible life, sir. Thank you for living it.
I NEED that version of Letter From Yokosuka in it's entirety. It's just simply amazing!
8:21
Do you know when music evokes a presence? I felt God speaking to me through Uyama's sound..
I also feel that Nujabes is like a very close friend who is with me in various moments, whether sad or happy.. I see God in his music! I feel so much peace! Nujabes forever!
Fat Jon, my main inspiration for making beats, SERIOUSLY?!!!!!
「Nujabes という〔現象〕」says shingo2
事実を捉えた言葉だなぁ
R.I.P Nujabes forever in our hearts
R.I.P Nujabes , You inspired me as a producer with your views on music and life.
You knew how to capture the true soul of hip hop and portray it on a large scale, may others learn from you as I am trying to.
This is one of the best videos i've ever seen.
Rest in beats Jun.
Man, what a touching video and i love the way it ended with his flute resting in the final shot. This video just reminds me of how much nujabes has impacted my life with no only his music but his entire presence...I'm sad that I will never get to meet him in person, but I'm glad that I got to know about his existence in my life time.
Rest in Peace Nujabes.

Still makes me sad. I was already into his beats and many of those by his colleagues and other fellow artists for the last 10+ years. That tune at the end of this was divine. LEt us always remember him in the month of Feb. R.I.P. Nujabesu Sama.
Genuine Saver, I wish I could see more of this footage translated. Thanks for sharing!
A lot of insight into his influence to the people, great documentary!

Nujabes inspired an entire genre. My number 1 study music for the past 6 years - RIP GOAT
Live Uyama is so soulful, so much emotion...I wish I could find this version too, and the live Homeward Journey at the end.
Love this video and the ending, very inspirational. I wish there was a love button right now, as well as english subtitles.

its pure magic

@Computerjockeys :
Yes, the original is from Nujabes, but in this video Uyama is playing on the track.
It's him playing a Soprano Saxophone in this video :)
He also can play the Piano and Silver Flute...and other instruments...
A very multi-talented guy with soul for music just like Nujabes.
@philrf :
I hope so to, can't wait for the release.
i wish i was there
@S0ulcreat1ve Thanks man! God bless.
Please! Please! Please! Please! Release the footage of the concerts! i can't find good live videos!
@noelcaleva :
Song: Homeward Journey
Album: Modal Soul Classics II
@Computerjockeys yes it is, also ive heard that Fat Jon was one of the people who first taught Nujabes how to produce.
Feelsbadman
Is it possible to have the Spoken Japanese subbed please? And thanks, as always, for your awesome upload!! R.I.P Nujabes, I never got to experience you live, but you have helped to make my soul whole. To the others, I hope they go on making music in the spirit left behind.
"Funky DL" to stop the tears I put the soul of the performance could not. I wonder why he had to know the time of death nujabes? This may have led to his now be said to have gone astray. I hear so many times tracing the melody of your future.
i just realized Shingo2 in this looks like he could play as Jin from champloo in a live action champloo movie, though i would not support the idea of making that
hahah truthat
@tlang14 :
He's playing a Soprano Saxophone in this video :)
@S0ulcreat1ve For me it would be great if he made a Soprano Saxophone version of Homeward Journey. It sounds awesome!
@probablylikelynot that's not a flute. it's a sax. i'm pretty sure that's uyama hiroto playing letter from yokosuka on his straight alto sax. you can see it at the end where he plays homeward journey
Anyone have a translation for the Japanese interview at the beginning?
slightly different version of 'letter from yokosuka'' at the start there. any ideas where that's from, guys?
I'd guess it's just live version :)
Does anybody knows when the full documentary is going to be released?
English translation is appreciated.
im dying to see the whole performance of homeward journey. :'/
SAY FUNKY, SAY DL
Espero que esta serie documental sea traducida al español por favor mi Chávez fue uno de los mejores Dj's y productores que ha existido dentro del hip hop y aportado mucho a esta cultura a nivel mundial que descanse en paz Hyun se va
@probablylikelynot it was probably Uyama Hiroto playing live
Is there an audio version with the full songs and stuff?
Where is the full version of that Letter to Yokosuka intro?
@AnonomusKity :
3:01 = Nujabes feat. Funky DL - Don't even try it
Album: Hydeout Productions 1st Collection
@dragonfly5885 :
Thank you very much!
Does anyone know where to find that live version of Letters From Yokosuka at the beginning?!
Could this be subtitled?
I lost a piece of my heart to Nujabes and I would love know what the peope who have lost some too have to say. =)
Dj deckstream in the back at 5:15 ?
No subtitles for Uyama?
@Computerjockeys :
I think It's a live version from the concert.
But maybe i'm wrong.

ruclips.net/video/BZUEoz95kS8/видео.html
@@betoskaterpro thank you man
@Bob42jh I so agree with you bro, feeling so frustrated ... not being able to understand what they're sayin about one of the greatest artists this planet had to offer :(
Can someone please do a translated version of this?
@groente12 :
But he will be in our hearts all around the world.. :)
What is the song played by Hiroto at the end of the video? Please :)
Where can we buy the documentary?
is it full documentary?
This is not the main documentary cuz at 9:37 it says directed by ryoji kamiyama and the main documentary with all the hype is directed by Abe Spiegel
@Computerjockeys :
Oh i forgot to set Nujabes feat. Uyama Hiroto of the first track, my bad.. O_o
Oh wow! I didn't even notice that. I'm not really sure what that album is dude, I wanna say its just the Hydeout Productions 2nd Collection cover flipped over or upside down but I don't know. Well sorry man, I though I could've of been some help.
