    I got bit by a Pygmy rattle snake a few years ago. It put me in ICU for two days. I set my long bow down on top of it and he hit me on the hand. I hope you are keeping James Wood straight!! I enjoy your videos.

      James told me about you and your bite. So sorry you had to go thru that. But your experience and James sharing it with me has really helped me pay better attention and watch for them. Especially when I'm stump shooting and reaching down to grab arrows.

    Awesome footage! I don't have a phobia of snakes, but I have a pretty healthy respect for them! No snakes here in Alaska, for which I am grateful. We have bears, for which I also have a pretty healthy respect. But I don't worry about stepping on a bear that may be hidden under the leaves on the trail. I also always wear my bear boots. You know... the ones that make me faster than at least one of the people that I'm out with.

    Not sure we have Timber rattlers in northeast Georgia or not but I’ve never seen one while hunting and hope I never do lol. We do have copperheads though and cottonmouths

      Lots of timbers in north ga. Pay attention, especially around the rocks.

    Two of the coolest snakes I ran into around there were the indigo’s and corn snakes. One wma in particular holds lots of indigos. Really neat reptiles. The timber eating the squirrel was awesome footage!

      Never seen a indigo or an eastern yet. But I rarely hunt their habitat. And when I'm in the sand pine hills I'm always on my toes watching for them. Did see a 6 foot pine snake in the sand pines a couple years ago. What a beautiful snake!

    Ohh my....reflex for some reason even a mouse 🐀 or snake some reason I scream as a reflex 😅 No idea 💡 why.... whole family comes out to living room, "why are you screaming?" LOL....I'd blow out our 🏹 bowhunt in first five minutes. In Florida hog hunting a couple years ago and I'm walking all around in dark no snake boots on....now 😅 lol I'll have nightmares for months! Jason, awesome content as usual brother. 🎉

    Yikes! Thanks for the footage - now I'm really spooked. Glad that we don't see these in the high mountains were I generally hunt. Though to be honest, those giant spiders you have mentioned a time or two really freak me out more. Have you had trouble with venomous spiders down there?

      @@SamkoTradBow I saw a copperhead last year down by the Enoree river on a WMA here in SC. Sat down on a stump to rest for a minute and looked down at my boot, there he was still as can be.

    I was muzzleloader hunting sitting on a stool at the end of October in Oklahoma and a copperhead crawled between my boots!!! I have the picture to prove it, glad it didn't crawl up my pants leg !!

      Yep they dont make a sound as they move, even over leaves they are silent. They dont slither side to side unless they are trying to go fast. they move silently in a straight line.

      I had a we call them ground rattler pigmy rattler crawling right for my hand during archery season this past year I had stopped to rest on my backpack chair and was trying to put something in the side pocket and couldn't get it in and looked down and that little joker was headed right for my fingers scared the crap out of me for a second

      No. That was ove the last year and a half. And only the ones I could film. Bet I've seem 3 times this many maybe 4 times. But these are the ones I could get footage of.

    Just watching the video gets my heart rate up 😂 theres supposedly a ton of timber rattlers and copperheads where I want to hunt this year. I figure I just watch where I step and leave them alone they will leave me alone right? 😂

    Being in Indiana, that's something we don't have to worry too much about. I'm glad about that because I wouldn't be able to concentrate on my hunting if I were watching for those all the time

    The eastern hognose .. what a beautiful snake. I would really like one of those for a snake pet. (Currently a happy Bpython owner) In stores a HN will cost btwn $200-600.00 due to their being trendy.. the copperhead is gorgeous as well.. admire with pictures !

    The wild hogs have diminished most of the snakes in the area I hunt . Hogs eat rattlesnakes like candy

      Where I am is covered up with hogs and yet I still see a ton of snakes here

      @@SamkoTradBow that’s crazy. Hogs in Texas have grown to big levels and eaten all the snakes. Even seen it my self deer hunting years ago . The smart snakes don’t rattle because the hogs come running when they hear the rattle. Seen it my self from deer stands
