I agree with Melissa, I don't think any of these couples are gonna make it either. At this point, please get new experts, because they didn't even try with these matches. MAFS is so hard to watch this season, it's like they're overproducing the show and it's become unauthentic since producers recruit people instead of actually matching applicants.
I'm glad you're adressing the Myrla and Gil situation. I really dislike that every time there's a woman on there that makes a lot of money and likes to enjoy herself with it/spoil herself and she asks for someone to match her pace, they put her with someone who makes significantly less and cant/wont meet them and in fact wants to tame their spending habits. I think it says something about how the experts want to police women and how they spend their own money. There's a lot of assumptions made abt an independent woman who can not only provide for herself but actually spoil herself. I think ppl are uncomfortable with this notion and seek ways to "humble" her. That's what I think is happening here and its gross. Like you all alluded to, uf it was a man who made a lot of money and took expensive trips and had a lot of cars, I don't think they'd even care to get him a girl who wasn't making as much as him bc there wouldn't be a need to bring him down a peg.
I wholeheartedly agree. Myrla’s not perfect, but no one is. She’s worked hard to have a life she can enjoy as woman in her 30s. But the producers and viewers seem to struggle with a woman wanting to travel and have nice things - especially if she’s already able to do that without a partner. It seems like financially they were able to find Bao a man of similar means, also Michaela. But because Myrla likes labels she needs to be “balanced out”. I don’t like that at all. There are plenty of men who are inspired by money, my only issue is that we normally don’t see them on this type of show. I wish Myrla had done her research because independent women of color often get the short end of the stick, financially, on MAFS.
I caught that too. They could have combined, but I don't think they've seen episode four yet because they never discussed anything that was said, even though it could have added to today's conversation
YES!!!! I’ve been saying this for years these experts take “opposites attract” too literal! As far as liking the “experts,” something interesting happened this season that we all need to remember. Michaela went around thanking the producers for her husband. I agree with you Melissa about Myrla and her lifestyle. I’m beginning to have a problem with people calling women (usually women of color) “high maintenance” because they like nice things. In the most recent episode, Myrla explains that she worked hard to get where she’s at and she enjoys her life because of it. Who says she doesn’t save just because she spends??? If you make enough money, you can do both. Is it unfortunate that she’s paired with someone with more humble spending habits? It is, because I’m pretty sure she didn’t ask for that. But I think lots of people are looking at Myrla too harshly because she likes to live life. She worked hard for her money, so what’s the problem? 🤷🏾♀️

I think the experts should do individual counseling before they match the couples. They are definitely not seeing potential serious issues that can make or break marriages. I told my sister I'm starting to wonder if the experts are matching the couples or are the producers...

Hey everyone, they titled it wrong, THIS IS EPISODE 3 that they are reviewing. The review for this weeks episode will probably come out this weekend. They had to push back filming for obvious reasons.
Me and my friend were literally just talking about this. I think they’re taking the whole “opposites attract” thing a little too far especially with people who are ridiculous and *so* particular about what they want yet allow experts to pick their spouse. When meeting a stranger it’s probably more comforting in the beginning to have commonalities, figure out what they are and relate and build on that. Because you can see the sparks fly when the couple meet initially and discuss all the things they’re surprised they relate on.
Independent women that don't have an interest in bending their lifestyle and interests have difficulty sustaining a marriage...Mural and Olivia. Most of the independent women who have remained married were less focused on their man " jumping on the bandwagon".
Just fyi I've lived in Houston my entire life (I'm in my 40s). We don't ride horses, we don't all live on ranches and farms. I hate that's how people always depict Houstonians. But I get it, I was shut down when I met my friends from Africa - they were like "We don't live in Huts" they were like we live in the city and have a house. I was so embarrassed. But just so you know we don't all walk around with co-boy boots and co-boy hats. We don't all listen to country music smh
I agree! Same here! I’m from South Louisiana and have been living between Houston and outside of Houston past 20 years and that is far from the truth that we all love Ranches and Hunting! No ma’am! I hate being outside too long anymore nor do I like country living, trail riding, hunting, ATVS...Nope! I have cousins that love it, but that is not all of our ministry 🙄😁
That’s definitely not what I think about people who live Houston because it’s such a huge city and I heard that it is so diverse, one of the most diverse cities in the nation. I’d actually love to visit Houston someday. I was surprised that they assumed that Brett would be more knowledgeable about ranches and country music because she’s a white woman from Houston, but Lifetime’s advertising of this season isn’t helping the ranch/cowboy stereotype at all. Even look at those bachelor and bachelorette parties 😬
I agree, I’m from the north Texas area and I hate when people think we all speak and live like we’re on an episode Dallas. I’ve been on a horse one time in my life and that was on a field trip. Larger cities like Houston and Dallas are a lot like Atlanta, DC, Philly and any other metropolitan city.
Merla’s brother said he handles her finances and she is able to sustain he lifestyle and also saves. Finance is a big reason marriages fail so they should have really took that into account when matching couples. Because Gil would need to be able to do the things she enjoys like travel and spend on entertainment which he may not be able to like she does. That is not a negative on her part she just needs a man that also enjoys and can afford that lifestyle on their own as well.
@@kaunagora6656 who said it's a splurge? I guess that's what people are missing....she budgets for it and does it. No where has she stated that these are binges or problematic in anyway.
My apprehension about her had to do with more than just the money. Gil wanted a more everyday girl, and she is more like that IG girl he didn’t want. Additionally, she comes across very cold and I worry that she won’t give him the affection he needs. He’s a firefighter and you can tell he’s a caretaker-type. She may be too strong and independent for him. Didn’t she say she didn’t need a man? I think he wants to feel needed.

I agree with Melissa. The family gives away way too much. But not only with the vows. When they go to the brunch also. Hold it down. Give generic answers. Put plainly, just hush!
I think the experts should do individual counseling before they match the couples. They are definitely not seeing potential serious issues that can make or break marriages. I told my sister I'm starting to wonder if the experts are matching the couples or are the producers...
Y'all had me excited thinking this was the review from this past Wednesday.. lol. I don't even remember what happened last week.
Me too, this is a review on episode 3
Look at entrepreneurship at its finest!!!
I am strongly agreeing with Lis. Ion no who gonna make it but Jaime and Beth had me at a hard ANH ANH but they are still happily married. They divorced every other day on the show but they worked.
It's true! I thought they were doneso many times but they were the perfect kind of crazy together.
Yep they shocked me the most. I now think the stress of being on camera to that extent was too much for them in the beginning.
Thank you for commentary it always puts me in a good mood ;)
Angel said we were ready to rip our ears off 😂😂😂😂😂
I think y’all are reviewing Episode 3 here and not 4. I thought they go to Florida for Honeymoon in Episode 4🤔 I only started watching MAFS cause I found y’all channel during quarantine, but had no idea what what y’all was talking about but like the dynamics of you all. Now I’m vested in this season cause I never watched any other seasons and you guys not into it😂 it’s ok cause I still love the banter b/w y’all and can’t wait for Love on Stage to get going going! 👏🏾
🤣🤣😂🤣 not Rachel's laugh!!! 😂😂🤣😂
I’m still in the beginning of the video and I’m laughing 😂 I love watching both of y’all relaxations. Thank you so much for making contact for us. Plz plz don’t over work yourselves. I really love the realness in each video. Y’all really help me out a lot in my marriage. I’m 23 years old and me and my husband have a 2 year old. I’m so happy to have a podcast with my other. Happiness and love to all of you. Lol 😆 I’m going to leave a comment again.
Angel said 'he had the bayang'.
Hey everyone, they titled it wrong, THIS IS EPISODE 3 that they are reviewing. The review for this weeks episode will probably come out this weekend. They had to push back filming for obvious reasons.
I agree with Kev’s rankings.
What kind of Nikes is Marcus wearing? They are fire!!
They look like Air Max!😍
Love y’all every time!!! ♥️♥️♥️
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 As a fellow Houstonian, ditto to everything you stated.
Do Love is Blind After the Altar!! I know y’all commentary would be hee-larious 😂😂
I thought y’all gave up on mafs because of the long drawn out episodes and if you did I wouldn’t blame you 😂
angel, that chick .. is a hit 😩
Melissa’s outfit 🔥😍
Yes Melissa! Cute!
For some reason I think they are speaking on episode 3… cause they did not mention meeting the parents at all, remember they had two wedding episode
Gil is firefighter, they make good money. He may not want to splurge as much as Myrla does but we will see.
@@Sharmoni66 I see. the producers did a horrible job matching them. I personally don't like his personality...and he seems stubborn and needing someone that will stroke his ego...I could see how both of them could balance one another out in another life....but where they are right now? I don't see it. I just hate that Myrla is getting a bad rep because people think Gil is the prize. They both would make great partners for other folks 🤣 because they both value diff things....and need diff things to bring out increased masculinity and femininity on both of their parts.
Melissa I love your clothes today!!
I gotta go watch the episode just to hear that laugh 🤣
The Bald and the Beautiful don't care about this season of MAFS
*Kanye voice* 😂
I even said that we could skip this season.
Facts...and I don't blame them. I'm about to be one of the people who watch them and not the episodes lol
Myrla and Gil are like Brianna and Vincent in the sense of money
Melissa is so beautiful 😍
Is it possible to get Pastor Cal as a guest??? That would really be awesome because I feel like he doesn't always say what's on his mind on the show lol
Working on it!
@@MrsKevOnStage Yaaayy!!! Yall got it handled lol
I watch this and I’ve never seen one episode of MAFS
Same 😂😂😂
Ditto
