Dude great video. Reminded me of being a teenager again swapping stereos out in my Plymouth Volare and Datsun 510. Man it is sooo much easier now. Great video. Cheers!
Brian Jilg Music ,Definitely easier these days. I can remember my brother and I fabricating faceplates to fit our Datsun B210 or GMC Jimmy. We had a competition to see who could get their plexiglass to match the dashboard best.
Dont know if anyone gives a damn but if you're bored like me during the covid times you can stream all the latest series on Instaflixxer. Have been streaming with my girlfriend for the last couple of weeks :)
Previous owner had a Sony xplod 6 disc changer and receiver installed with a huge amp in front trunk. They kinda butchered the factory harness so I'm trying to figure it out while installing a media receiver.
I have a 2001 boxster and just ordered the double din kit My car has the door speakers and amp do I need to do anything special to make it all work or is it as easy as yours?
Hi, Thanks for the video. I'm getting ready to do this on my 986. I thought there was an alarm wire on left side that needed to be grounded out to keep the alarm from going off. Is this something you had to deal with?
Great video. Does your Boxster have a factory amp in the front trunk? It didn’t look like that when you open the hood to disconnect the battery. On Crutchfield it is telling me that I’m going to have to bypass the factory amp and run new speaker wires from the stereo to the amp location which I assume will make my installation a little bit more complicated than what you presented in the video.
Thank you for doing this video to help people Ry........ But, for God's sake! Porsche is a two syllable word. Porsh-uh. I will now step off my soapbox. Thank you.
Glad to see that others are bothered by this common mispronunciation. The fact of the matter is that there are NO unpronounced letters in German words so Porsch-uh is correct.
Ry the car guy Ry the car guy was it difficult to move the climate controls? I’d like to put in a touchscreen but the climate controls are just below the drink holders on my 2003 Boxster
An extraordinarily clear step-by-step guide to removal of the old radio and installation of the new one. Nice job!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent presenattion...What do you do with the alarm?...
Awesome and extremely useful video - the step by step instruction is appreciated!
Glad you like it! 💪🏻
Thanks for taking the time and effort to make this, very helpful.
You're very welcome! Thank you for taking the time to watch!
@@Rythecarguy thanks!

Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I will be attempting to replace my factory radio in my Porsche next week. This vid. was perfect.

No, I just needed to be dang sure I knew what the unlock code was. If you try to reinstall the radio it will lock you out unless you put the code in.
I want to replace the air conditioning control panel on my Porsche Boxster 986 with a stylish aftermarket one. Where can I purchase one from

I have the same concern...plus I’ve got the Bose sub unit behind the seats!
what color are the dash speaker wires? (grey, white, purple or green)
Where can I buy this adapter? My porscheboxster 2002 looks different
I have a 986, the connection of 986 is Iso? or I must buy an ISO adapatador for intalacion pa? Thanks
Are there any additional concerns or steps if you have the Bose sound package factory option? subwoofer is behind the rear seats.
I'm sorry but I don't know.
@@Rythecarguy all good, thanks for the reply. Cheers
I will be doing this on my 1997, Thanks. 👍👍👍
You're welcome thanks for watching
@@Rythecarguy Hi, I bought and installed a Sony MEX-N5300BT from crutch field and love it, thanks 🙏

Lol, I bought and sold my Porsche before ever learning the proper pronunciation.

Can you tell me what the model Blancpunt was that you put in there. Thanks and keep up the great work.
Oh im sorry, I must have not received a notification for your comment. Here you go: Blaupunkt Rio de Janeiro 120
Hey ry, can you make a video on moving the climate control panel?
Oh man. Sorry but I don’t have this car anymore or I totally would.

Nice video.. Thank you
I have done this but my Amp doesn’t fire up,,, any idea why?
Amp turn on wire needs to be tapped.
Yes and no, many Boxsters came with nice factory CD holders so a replacement CD player makes perfect...regardless thanks for a nice video.
Very good job sir..
