Sean Check the rule page for the tournament to see what controllers are allowed. Wireless are allowed I’m pretty sure but they prefer wired so the controllers won’t accidentally connect to other switches in the venue

I just deleted the first one I saw, wasn’t paying attention. Looking back it was a pretty solid alpha move I should do that every time.
I went to a local tournament, and found out on game day that it would be four player free-for-all time matches with items on. Even worse than that, everyone had to play with a single Joy-Con. It was an absolute mess.
My school had a tournament, there were a few problems: 1: Tourney mode 2:Played on projector causing (I kid you not) more than a second of delay 3: Default controls 4: Free for all 3 to 4 people playing at once It had a $30 prize and the only ones winning were heavys and early killers. Combos were impossible.

Thank you so much for your first tourney guide. It was really helpful. I was so nervous that i would mis-input a move and lose a stock. Thanks for making me more confident
I have my first ever tournament coming up this weekend. I wouldn't exactly say the scene is thriving where I live, so it's a bit out of my way and I'm very uncomfortable in general with travelling (and meeting new people), but I hope to learn a lot and play some friendlies. I'd be chuffed if I even make it to bracket, honestly!
Yo that Facebook tip was super helpful. I thought my state would be too small to even have one but it did and sure enough, there were posts about tournaments near me all over the place! My first tournament is in 20 days and this has helped me AND pumped me up. Let's go BananaBoy!
Thank you so much for this! This video, plus "30 Tips to Improve at Smash Ultimate", got me to start going to tourneys. I've attended my local biweekly scene for 2 or 3 weeks now, and even went to Heart of Battle!
This is a great video dude! I echo what you said about how going to tournaments helps you get better. It was not until I went to my very first tournament that I felt like an actual Smash Bros. player. It was super cool to meet so many people and to hear other people cheer me on, and to battle against. I made a lot of friends at that first tournament, and I've met more at each one I've gone to, that all have helped me get better. :)
I've been really bad at smash since brawl (because I was like 6), but I've recently been wanting to get better and so I want to go to a tournament. This video helped with my already terrible anxiety, and I'll certainly sub so I can learn more about the game and tourneys. TY BananaBoy!
This was so helpful cause yesterday i went to my 1st tournament sure i lost my first round but all that he says was tru so now i just gotta improve and spare with some of my friends to practice more
Thank you so much! I did attempt Brawl tourneys and honestly, I stopped going to in person tourneys because I honestly thought that I truly was a lot better than I was and then reality hit and I just lost it and gave up. Perhaps since it's been so long and I skipped out on in person tourneys on Smash 4 and I'm older and wiser now and more mature, maybe I'll not be so discouraged, especially after watching your video just now. I'll be more realistic with my expectations and actually study more to improve.
I'm planning on my first soon and I'm happy I've improved but I'm planning on doing my best and getting destroyed and coming in dead last. Low expectations means low disappointment. What's important is not being good but getting better
i went to a local tournament, and won the whole thing. turns out when youre a baby fighting babies except youre the serious baby, those other babies are actually pretty easy to beat.
Whenever I go to a tournament with a new player if they're nervous I always tell them that people want them to suck bc it makes it easier to get further in the tournament
