Rip my 1993 purple party machine MX-3. It was the DJ car for all highschool parties. I didn't know how slow it was until needing to drive to dfw for things. I am grateful that getting totalled in it, pulling onto BRAND new highway. Ford explorer t boned me highway speed. Im lucky to have legs. That was God working. I remember the airbags spraying chemicals in my face. Sound system still kept blasting Janet Jackson somehow. A farm hand who doesnt live near us just happed to be the truck behind me at 11pm at night. He went and got help.
Congrats Colton, I should not have sold my 1994 Mazda 626 for scrap, my son really wanted to restore it but realistically speaking, we can't afford it at the moment
I'm pretty sure my dad had to rebuild my engine on mine at some point. It was this car and the Mitsubishi Eclipse or just the eclipse. I decided I wanted a Ford Lightning and we settled that
My dad was a high pressure oil drilling engineer. He just magically knows everything. He is still working tons of hours on the ranch now, almost 70. If you have time and energy to work on one of these, they are good cars. Mine was automatic. The stick shift 97 eclipse I got next had way more unforseen problems. Would never advise anyone to try rebuilding one. I learned most of my mechanics based on what failed in that car. All the way down to electrical problems.
Righto, here are the Big Gully's tips. - Water pump replacement asap (they play up with these models) - front springs, they actually had 3 factory recalls on these believe it or not. If it hasn't been done yet, get half decent coil overs for just the front. - MAF sensor, clean everything and replace the MAF sensor completely. This is you major cause to misfires on this engine. - smaller rims = better acceleration. I run 14" rims off a MX5. Very light and with the right tyre profile 👌🏻 Bellissimo, no rubbing and camber adjustments we will easier. A major service and this little nugget will be gapping most
@@ColtonRichter Man I'm leaving the Mazda gang... I've watched you since the White speed on Evo wheels and that made me want a speed. I've now owned an RX8 and a 5 speed 3 and I'm about to sell the 3 :( I guess I need another Mazda :)
I don't think you can make these cars "fast". Maybe a manual transmission one you could get more power. I don't know how Team Ford SVT crammed in tons of power into the Focus. Hats off to those dangerous Focuses. They ruled drag races. Super dangerous. You want faster, I don't think the suspension was really thought out for driving. Except for looking cool at Sonic.
Saving a cool car from scrap is always an achievement! Well done!
Feels great everytime!

I always see some pop around, still opportunity!

That's OG!
@@ColtonRichter Funny enough you have commented back to me and my friend like 4 times😂
Of course ✌🏻
That is so friggin dope dude. Ugh you shoudlve kept the Miata. This with the Miata would be a killer combo.
I honestly like this car A LOT more than the Miata so far 😂
@@ColtonRichter that's cool it's pretty dope. It's gonna be even better when your actually finished
It's alive.
back to the world
Random completely unrelated question, but how do you feel about the Mazda3 spec-d headlights that a lot of builds I see using
look cheap, build your own set!
Damn I forgot about these cars cool to see one
yayayayayaya
Looking at a mx6 with this swap, are these things pretty reliable and what’s there to look for?
Lots of old forums on these, they are very reliable aged motors. Make sure timing has been done and it's never been overheated.
put a turbo and make super fast
it already is ............ fastish
