This piece is special because it is in a "minor"key, appropriate to its sadness. Also quite special is that each interval Lara sings is pitch-perfect, bang centre.... not easy for any singer.
Thank you, you are the only one to react to other songs that the great classics of Lara , merci beaucoup It was a magnificent spectacle lisent the cover of the traviata
Bryden, even though this concert was more "intimate" than her usual concerts of 5,000-10,000 people, the L'Olympia Theater still holds about 2,000! To me, the "intimacy" refers more to the way the songs are stripped down to a basic acoustic accompaniment, and Lara is able to display her voice without any distraction.
Brilliant Bryden .......... Brilliant Lara.......... Great reaction Bryden as always...........She lives her songs, that's what I love about her..... Timeless , I also love that about her singing...... even though performed 18 years ago, entirely relevant for the times. Gorgeous performance.......
Great reaction! She draws me in from the first note, breath... and I'm captivated every single time. There is so much to say about her performance and then what to say...
@@danielakeller7532. Hi Denise! I love each and every one of Lara's concerts and I love everybody like you who loves this Master performer. Nue is great concert too. For me, Nue was a "fan crowd" event, more typical of 9, in which Lara was vivacious and full of "chutzpah"! The En Toute Intimite"design, as Bryden points out, faced her alone to the audience with just a piano and a string quartet in the atmosphere of a living room. It allowed her to do more "acting", with a suite of songs offering a wide range of emotions that resulted in a seamless end-to-end hour and a half of solo performing. Throughout the performance, aided by Pierre Grimard's masterful accompaniment, she held my attention absolutely. Seeing her quiet and modest acceptance of the praise the audience was heaping on her at times during the show added to the feeling that I was witnessing something very personal. In addition she was at the peak of her singing power. What more could you ask? I just love Lara Fabian. Cheers!
I have listened to this song many times, but your observations have really added to my understanding. For example, her "doubling" the piano towards the end. Thank you!
What a beautiful piece of music:). I particularly liked those parts with viola/violin. I pictured Maurane singing viola/violin parts I guess... I love when those two sang together. The whole piece is just beautiful. And the way how Bryden feels the music and responds to it, enhances my pleasure. Thank you Bryden:)
Don't exaggerate the "breath effect" for stylistic reasons. A characteristic of Lara's singing is her long phrasing, always supported through her diaphragm down to the very last second. These long phrases require a lot of breath-in at the beginning, and it's audibility gives some reviewers the impression she is unnecessarily "breathy'. Not so. On the other hand, her breaths-in actually sound different when used for emotional effect - in these cases her breaths-in "stutter" a little, almost a sobbing sound.
