    I think when it comes to this next patch normal guarding really needs a bit of a buff, especially with shields getting a nerf.

    how does the unblockable work?

    • @ohgodno
      @ohgodno 2 года назад +1

      iirc you can't block physical moves in the air in melty, so he just locks you down in the air with a projectile which leads to a guerenteed hit.

    • @ApexGale
      @ApexGale 2 года назад +6

      @@The4stro it's not that you can't block physical moves. it's that you can't block grounded moves while you're blocking in the air. if vlov were to use a jumping normal the block would work. the way that it works is that the projectiles are multi hits, so if a character super jump blocks to get in on Vlov, he just gets an unblockable by spending magic circuit or moon gauge

    • @randomuser-mv7bb
      @randomuser-mv7bb 2 года назад +11

      @@The4stro You can block or shield on the air. However in this case the Vlov player force opponent to block the projectile on the air, then use moon drive to stop time and cancel into command ground attack. Opponent cannot block the ground attack when they are still blocking the air projectile, which makes the ground attack UNBLOCKABLE. This setup requires meter to work tho.

      Unblockable set ups has always been a thing, the first few months after launch players were experimenting with Roa's unblockable setups on oki. Not sure when people started doing Vlov's setup.

      He always have this. Because ground attack are air unblockable in Lumina, character that can make the opponent block in the air, like Vlov and Roa, can do these unblockable set up

      It's a setup, which means you have to do some conditioning in order for it to work, it's not like you can pull it out of thin air. In this case the Vlov player has to condition opponent to block on the air then use moon drive to cancel into ground move and catch opponent. The setup requires both meter as well as hard read to perform, and it's cool to see a player pulled it back to back
