2:32 First Class Lounge admittance based on JAL Mileage Bank level requires at least JGC Premier status. In order to reach this status, a member must qualify through one of two means: - 80,000 FLY ON points, half of which must be earned on JAL flights - 80 flights, half of which must be JAL flights PLUS 25,000 FLY ON points To get a sense of the difficulty of earning FLY ON points: A economy ticket with a moderate discount from Tokyo to Fukuoka would net you around 800 points. Once you attain the status, there are a number of enhancements available (to Japanese residents) to make retaining that status easier, but you have to do it the hard way the first time around.
I was allowed to enter a few days ago with my One World airlines Emerald Status gained through American Airlines. Platinum Pro status on American Airlines, which grants you Emerald Status in One World, is attainable if you have a American branded credit card and fly at least 4 times a month. I was surprised to see that One World partner airlines grant far more leniency international travelers compared to their own domestic customers!
@@MrRevilo50 I feel like you’re understating the difficulty of attaining 125,000 Loyalty Points a bit lol It’s funny that you should mention the difference in treatment between native and partner travelers. American does something similar, for those who are unaware: Partner oneworld Sapphire and Emerald members can use American Airlines Admirals Club and Flagship Lounges while flying within the US, but top-tier American AAdvantage Executive Platinum members (Concierge Key is invite-only so it doesn’t count) cannot use those lounges based on status alone when flying domestically.
That's crazy... I just hope to even ride on a jet once someday! I've only ever been on small single engine planes and helicopters but my biggest bucket list fantasy is to actually go somewhere on a big airliner.
This is truly one of the best videos I’ve seen in a long time, and it was sweet that you were excited and nervous when the champagne came. Your style is fantastic.
It looks like you had a comfortable flight with delicious food. I hope you enjoyed your visit to the US, and found some food to enjoy while you visited. Thanks for letting us tag along again.
I've come to the conclusion that Solo san is a Professional Food Muncher! He even clears his plate of unknown and mysterious looking foods, foods he's not keen on...One time, in Okinawa, he ate a piece of rubber that was disguised as a tasty steak, which almost destroyed Solo san's soul! If you are in LA for the upcoming heavy rains, you might be amused by the local people react to them! Enjoy your stay in my home state and thank you for always interesting and well done videos.
There is NOTHING amusing about flooding. Floods take many lives every year. If you're over in that part of the country, take it seriously. Don't be one of those fools who laughs and drives into flooded streets. You might end up being carried out of the water and into a morgue like so many others.
Northern Californian here; no stranger to flooding, as are the Japanese. On the other hand I saw people in Orange County reacting to heavy rain like it was a bombing raid and was amused. @@lemaildoe
I've always thought that if you have a long flight, and you can afford it, paying for first class is doing yourself a favor in terms of comfort. The food looked amazing as well!
Absolutely. I've flown coast-to-coast economy for work a few times, and those experiences convinced me to save up and do first class when I take personal flights of that length.
First class is overrated and mostly about bragging rights. Business class is usually what matters, to the point that some airlines don't even HAVE first class anymore (like Qatar - their business class is basically better than pretty much anyone else's first class).
It depends on the airline honestly. I agree, it’s better flying first class if you can afford but some first class experiences aren’t worth it. Sometimes there isn’t that huge of a difference. However, some airlines do have a great first class experience and absolutely worth it if you have a long flight.
You are gorgeous hun, love your videos! My surprise was realising it was not snow but house roof's coming into LA. Hope you had a fun adventure! I'm here with you in spirit 🙏
It certainly looked as though you had a lovely time coming to America -- even before you took off! Thanks for sharing this cool look into high-end JAL flight service. Everything you ordered looked so darned tasty!
Thanks to your love of curry, I finally decided to try it from a Japanese restaurant and I absolutely love it! Now I understand why you almost always get curry 🤤 Oishi 😋 🦘🇦🇺🦘🇯🇵
My mom & I have watched all your videos! We are in Huntington Beach, Orange County (Prefecture), south of Los Angeles. We are curious about what you are planning to see here! 😃
Y'know, one of these days STJ is going to encounter a dish SO GOOD, he is going to have to resort to !!!. Thank you for another insight into the world of Japanese cuisine.
Great review especially showing the awesome food. I prefer the sky suite to the reverse herring bone seat as it's so private and you can see out of the window without stretching.
Flew to Japan a few times, best was a MAC flight, I basically slept in a PJ seat. It did have a toilet and kitchen. One time I arrived at Yokota, and the Japanese airline took my toolbag and shrinkwrapped it. That brief flight from Yokota to Misawa was the best part. The stewards provided a full meal and took care of the whole flight. I arrived in Misawa ready to work. I cannot remember what airline it was, but as an aircraft mechanic with almost 40 years of experience, the U.S. airlines could learn from them.
That looked very comfortable, STJ, and so civilized! Thank you for showing us the menus, so we could imagine what we would choose. You must choose the wagyu beef curry on your next business class adventure, and tell us how delicious it was.
We flew SFO to Bangkok on JAL business a few months ago. The flights from SFO to HND were on the flagship 777 with this 2-3-2 product. To and from BKK was a 1-2-1 business class product. I felt the 2-3-2 product was a lot better for sleeping. The 1-2-1 configuration had a strange angle for the footwell and at 6’2” tall with size 12 feet, the footwell also seemed too small. Service on all flights was impeccable, as always. My only complaint, if you call it that, was about the lounges. At SFO, the lounge is pretty disgraceful, but that’s pretty much true of all SFO lounges, except United Polaris. None of the others hold a candle to lounges in Asian airports. I was also disappointed that the lounge at HND was changed. What was the Sakura Lounge became the First Class Lounge and a new Sakura Lounge opened a little down from the original. The old Sakura Lounge was much more comfortable. But it’s always great flying either JAL or ANA. Both are superb airlines.
This is so cool!!! Thank you so much for sharing and letting me get to experience something I probably won't actually have a chance to IRL! I appreciate your videos very much. :)
Wow LAX your a celebrity now😊 glad you left japan a bit see the world. Will always support❤. My mind is still on that wagu curry you didn't eat im really hungry now😂 Thanks for the video love it
JAL first class is my favorite to fly. It makes American Airlines first class feel like an economy seat😭 I’ll be flying to haneda next month in sky suite from Chicago and am very excited.
I decided to fly JAL from Texas to South Korea (Economy Class) three years ago and I was really impressed by the service and the meals. I highly recommend them, way over American Airlines standards. I also recently decided to fly Qantas from Texas to Melbourne. I highly recommend you skip Sidney if you can as their security lines were horrendous and unorganized. Still way over American Airlines standards as far as service and meals. I decided to mention the comparison between American Airlines and these airlines as AA needs to step up their service immensely. Not only did I not experience any delays as far as boarding times but there were not any cancellations with the other two airlines. AA's reputation has gone way downhill in the recent year and they need to turn it around. I have spoken to people who have flown them in the last few months and they said they would avoid their airline in the future. Just food for thought.
I'm at 3:01 are you sure your not at an abandoned airport? It sure looks empty of people, LOL. I paused at 6:20, had to get some water and when I came back and saw the picture of the beef curry, I thought this. If the dish was as big as the picture, you would be in heaven! The plane sound is noisy, I wouldn't be able to sleep.
It is a different experience when travelling Business Class. I was lucky enough to fly back from Bahrain on BA that way, I got upgraded and as someone who had been flying for well over 60yrs it was incredible. Once you have flown that way it is so hard to go back to cattle class 😂❤❤👋👋👵🏴
You must be a young man having such a big appetite you cleaned all your dinner plates wc is good as it was a long flight. I'm from the Philippines 🇵🇭 you chose escabeche which our version is sweet sour fish which i love
V1, VR and V2 are indicated airspeeds (IAS) and are those used by the pilot during takeoff. First V1 or decision speed is reached, after which takeoff can no longer be aborted. Then VR or rate of rotation and then V2 or takeoff rate of climb. In your video, you point to V2 before VR.
So cool! This is a great idea for those who want a relaxing experience on their flight. I wonder if the monitor can be used to watch anything other than the plane's location, like shows?
