These are the kind of blogs I enjoy the most. I'm not worried how good or bad an International legacy carrier is. I do want to know about the new kids on the block like Play, Norse, etc. I'm not brave enough to try it first on my own! I was all set to try Norwegian the other year, after seeing another blog, but the combination of the Max 8 and COVID stopped that. Going to give Play a try outbound and Norse on the overnight return. Great blog 👍
This is so nice of you to say. Thank you so much. I am glad you enjoyed. If you travel light and do not mind having no free food and drinks, I think these companies offer a great and cheap(er) way to travel!
It’s nice to see you driving on the correct side of the vehicle my friend. I would love to use this airline but there is no affordable or easy way to get from NYC to Stewart
Very good quality flight review, was surprised at how few subscribers you have - keep up the good work, and thanks for showing us what Play was like! I'm flying them for the for the first time to SWF in the U.S. this year and am excited to see how they compare to Norwegian, who I flew with numerous times to the same airport and who I thought had fantastic value for money (even though I realized I was flying with their MAX aircraft across the Atlantic Ocean back when they were still an accident waiting to happen...!)
This is very nice of you to say, thank you. I do these vides as a hobby so do not make many, probably that is why the few subscribers, hopefully over time will be more 😊 I flew Norwegian 2x, once on 787 LAX LGW and then a 737 in Europe and I loved both. I first flew a MAX in Canada, I remember the feeling, was a bit anxious… Hope you will enjoy your flight with Play, and thanks again
@@WrightRider Ah well they're much enjoyed nonetheless! I'm sure you'll get plenty more subscribers. I flew on their 787 as well a few times, even flew some planes they had to contract from Evelop! when they didn't have enough planes themselves - all great value for money flights, shame that they had to get rid of their transatlantic services. Thank you for the well-wishes and looking forward to seeing more of your videos in the future!
This is very kind of you to say thank you. You are the 223rd actually. I do this as a hobby but I am away filming at the moment so there will be a few more videos coming soon. Thanks again 😊
Great review! I flew PLAY from New York to Berlin and back - you were lucky traveling in the older A321 - they have a greater seat-pitch as the regular PLAY aircrafts. But they want to change that as well. However, with a XXL seat you can still fly very comfortable if you are >190cm in height. I enjoyed the trip and can't wait to fly again from SWF to anywhere in Europe!
I heard they wanted to change the seats in the existing aircrafts. While I understand why, as they would be able to add more seats, especially on long flights it can have a rather negative effect on comfort. Would be interesting to see the new ones. Glad you enjoyed the flight 😊
Flew these guys from Boston to Paris via Iceland. Was amazed how good it was. Stunningly nice flight attendants and crew. Was on the A321neo for 3 of these flights with the great legroom and on the A320neo for final leg back to Boston with not nearly as much legroom. Luckily, all 4 flights we had a row to ourselves. Service was fantastic and reasonably priced. First time on a single isle airplane overseas since I was 4 (in 1973) when we took a Lufthansa 707 to Germany. Overall, we were very impressed and will definitely fly them again….oh, yeah, our tickets were $325 round trip!
Hi, I am 6’1” (185cm) and on longer flights I value legroom the most. I on the other hand do not like bulkhead as the non movable armrest make the seats narrower and as I am a bit fat 😅 I do not like that. I personally would always choose the seat I was actually sitting in which is emergency exit. Pretty much unlimited legroom and next to window to lean against if you want to have a rest. If you are thinner, bulkhead seats are great as it also makes you among the first to leave the aircraft which after a long flight is very good. So I would go for emergency row, window. If not that, than bulkhead. Hope I was able to help Worst case scenario, if all else is taken or you do not want to pay much extra, I would go with an aisle seat. I could stretch my leg still in the corridor and that again for me is the most valuable
Hello, they took cards and Apple / Google pay. Here is the menu if you want to see (link is valid for 7 days from today, 10th of August 2023) scnr.pro/3d0bvzdafo
When I flew to Dublin, June 2022, no one checked the size or weight of the bags. However, last month, they weighed and sized the carry ins, but not the personal items.
This is a very good question, in all honesty I never flew with Icelandair, I have bookings with them for April. Play is a low cost airline and Icelandair is a flag carrier so I would assume you get more luggage and some food included in your ticket. Play only gives you the flight , everything else is payable separately, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Icelandair flies (mostly) on Boeing 737 MAX while Play uses Airbus A320 family aircrafts. These are very similar for most people flying them, I however prefer Airbus.

Great video! I am glad to hear that the flight was more pleasant than you expected. Sounds like a bargain price!.
Happy New Year.
😀
I was expecting more like a Ryanair kind of interior but it was very good. Happy new year to you too!

Stunning videography! The filming of the Greenland landscape is amazing!
That is very nice of you, thank you!
That flight was SO affordable! Great video

$325 sound like a very reasonable price. I am glad you had a nice experience too, I was very surprised how good they were. 😊
Great video, subscribed.
Thank you, I am glad you liked it!
What seats do you advise for the longer flights

Hi, just wondering how do you pay for food and drinks onboard. Is it with cash or card?

@@WrightRider Thank you!
Do they measure your back packs? If I were to bring a large back back as my personal item, would they care?
Hi, nor in London, neither in Iceland they measured it at all. I think as long as you are reasonable with the backpack they would not care at all!
@@WrightRider Great thanks for the response! Thinking of going boston to paris with them this summer!
No probs, I was very impressed with them, I hope you will like it too.
