I remember seeing this episode for my first time around 5 years or so ago. Like so many others, I could tell that the Hermit was Teddy's father. It's a very touching and moving scene, possibly the most tender scene throughout the entire series. One observeration, it goes to show that some of the most precious things in life will always remain with you, even with a loss of memory. Especially true when the Hermit starts singing when he has the flashback caring for Teddy as a cub at night in this song.
That is an interesting observation! I have noticed how is it that Burl remembered the names of his wife and son along with singing that lullaby and tucking his son in at night even after losing his memory otherwise. This I noticed on other shows as well and wondered how is it that a person has these memories or feel as if they have been in a certain place when they otherwise have no memory of it. Could it be that the memories are still there in the person's subconscious? Or are the memories faded?
Allison Peters That is quite interesting. I do also remember Burl telling Gimmick soon after this scene that sometimes when he closes his eyes, he sees an image of a house but just when he sees someone emerging from the house, the image he is seeing goes away.
Because they are traditional animation and some of them made by Japanese studio. But you know the computer ruined everything and now most of the Animators are lazy except the Japanese.
So true i still have my daughter and sons teddy they are 29 and 31 now i have 2 grandbabies 2yr old 7 month old i play teddy for them they go right to sleep I love the older Teddy Ruskin
@@Hulk2k6 oh definitely. But such is the world we live in. Kinda sad so many things get a revival and reboot, but this does not. Of course given how badly a lot of reboots go...

I already knew at this point that the hermit was Teddy's father and when they both sang that song together also gave me that feeling.
If anything The "Hermit" thing was the sweetest twist to ever happen in the series.
Ah, memories. Knew this song by heart as a child. My mom would sing it to me at night. Was a nice reminder of my childhood.
This is the cutest thing ever!
Cartoons had better values back then.

The Hermit-he knows the lullaby.

(No, that would be too much of a coincidence. ^^)
Charles Johnson it’s true he’s teddys father
Is it me? Or people miss Teddy Ruxpin toy.
Not you. Everyone who grew up (or has seen) Teddy Ruxpin miss him.

You know i'm tired too
So snuggle up and
Close your eyes and
Sleep the hole night
Through!!!
What episode was this scene...? 😳
This show got a raw deal when it got canceled early.
Had Worlds of Wonder not gone to the Wall, it'd have probably lasted longer. At least they knocked out 65 episodes and went Global with it.

@@Asher_Tye There was talk of a reboot as far back as 2yrs ago but it never got off the ground.
@@Hulk2k6 I know they made a new version of the toy, but didn't hear anything about the show getting a chance.
@@Asher_Tye At least Teddy got to wrap up probably the biggest mystery in his life.
