When I was younger and much more depressed. I would listen to this song and look at the picture, and just imagine being there under the beautiful dark moonlit sky. Enjoying the moment with people.
That's such a mood because that's how I felt playing the game. Anju was such a real one in all versions of her ending.
Same
Thanks, I am thinking of that now
After so many years, here i am again. So much has happened, so much changed, but the memories are still here, and this remix encapsulates that so well. Hope everyone else is doing well.
Same here. I remember finding this video about 10 years ago. Feels comforting coming back all these years listening to this remix while reading the comments. 😇
Happiness inside a dark atmosphere. Weird, but beautiful song.
Oh right
Moments of peace within an entirety of chaos
Literally have a knot in my throat listening to this. I can't believe I'm only hearing it now after more than 10 years. Words cannot describe how beautiful this is.
12 years. My god, how time flies.
My best friend used to love zelda
This was the las thing I shared before he died from cancer
This song is so special for me
This video gave me an existential crisis, and I began to question the universe and everything in it.
I enjoyed every moment of it.
Nostalgia. That is all.
I remember just sitting in the observatory with the old guy, when I was a kid, just to hear the song.
Me too man
the childhood is coming back to me
same, i used to be too scared to look into the telescope to see the moon, cuz i knew it would cry.
And now you can enjoy it again :)
Damn.. im a big majoras mask
so, back in 2018 i fell into this deep depression with anxiety and stress. I used to LOVE listening to this every night before i went to bed to help me go to sleep, well suicidal thoughts started going through my head. But look at me now i have a good family, friends and a little brother, THIS SONG AND MUSIC ARTIST HELPED ME GET TO WHERE I AM TODAY. THANK YOU ICEFERNO
As someone else in the comments put it. "Happiness in a dark atmosphere" There's just something so beautiful and melancholy about a starry night sky and I feel like this song really captures that feeling.
+Soooooooooooonicable More than simply a dark atmosphere. It reminds me of the looming threat, looking through that telescope to see a giant celestial body coming slowly down, certain to destroy everything in its wake. And yet, through this, there are things to appreciate. Life itself, perhaps?
#overthinking
+Shar Thulovaas Nah, that's not overthinking. I think you nailed it.
My Delicious Morsel Its magical and tragic at the same time. Weird combo.
Majora's Mask was my favorite soundtrack. So melancholy and beautiful!
Time travel
This is difficult to describe, but I'll try. Hearing this song makes me feel vaguely nostalgic... but for a time I haven't actually experienced or maybe a place I've never seen. It also makes me feel oddly hopeful that perhaps one day I'll see whatever place it is that I seem to be missing.
You'd be surprised how relatable that is! I feel the exact same way about this track and many others... Actually, I believe that, in a way, what you said is true. I believe that all such inspiration we receive and put into tangible form are like shadows of what's to come. We are all part of God's story and we mimic Him by creating our own worlds and stories. I believe that almost all inspiration is a bit prophetic, but even that, because God is infinite, there are infinite possibilities, infinite ways for Him to realize Himself through creation.
I believe that all these stories we tell, all these worlds we create... I believe they are shadows of His infinite plan. The eternal story. One day... I will be in the place this music represents. In it's truest form. I don't care how "out-there" that may all sound. Everything is a miracle. That feeling you get when you hear this "music"... it's proof that there is SO much more going on in reality than just random cause and effect.
There is a plan and He wants all to be a part of it... You only get one lifetime to choose His plan or yours. But just know that choosing your own plan is merely choosing an empty shadow...
I love your soul friend, I pray that I will see you one day in eternity... in this place, with this music playing in our hearts. God bless ❤️
You made me cry :´D

No one's blaming themselves. Childhood is a magical time for anyone since at that age we're all blissfully unaware of the real world and its unpleasantries. Also, the 90s were awesome.
Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask truly had some special soundtracks. This song truly encapsulates the feeling of being in a safe place in an often dark and gloomy world. Thank you so much for uploading this version of Astral Observatory. I really appreciate all the work that you put in to make this arrangement. 😊
This song makes me happy even though I know the end is near
Almost one year anniversary of this comment...
Maybe i can't play or live at the times of n64-six generation. But the sensations that gave me this remix are so powerful. Is like a see an entire multiverse of worlds, characters and fantasy in his pure form.
5 years and I can't get enough of this song
Make that seven years... Damn
10
Understandable. Same.
Make that 11
This is such a good remix! Words cannot describe the nostalgia from all of the songs in LoZ. Some days, all I listen to are these songs and I just feel like I'm in a fantasy world. Such a big part of my childhood...I wish I never had to grow up, but life goes on...I still play the games from time to time (just started playing Majora's Mask for the second time in my life). I'll always cherish the LoZ series and the effects it had on my childhood and the things it taught me. It will always hold a special place in my heart. Hearing songs like these makes me just wanna gather everyone who shares the same love for LoZ and sit in a field and just listen to these without a care in the world!
Aww man that's nice to hear. Me too. I'm happy u wrote this recently so I can comment. I know what you mean. As long as we have our memories , we get to carry our childhood with us and Zelda :) thank u to that :)
I streamed Majoras Mask last year and just started adding to my Zelda music playlist this year for Tears of the Kingdom, so there was a lot of Majora's Mask music I was reminiscing about. This was one of my favourite songs from the game, and finally now I can experience the nostalgia alongside a beautifully rendered remix. Thank you Iceferno
You sir/madame, have brought extreme happiness that tears have swelled up in my eyes. I want to stick my head out and say, for the Entire Zelda Fan-based Community. That this remix is extremely beautiful and it is a shame that the childhood of kids these days are so corrupt, that they don't understand the sheer beauty of these games and it's soundtrack and that in terms of recreating/remixing an OST, you have done a marvelous job at it...I thank and salute you
Wonderful comment
Thanks very much :) I am still very proud of this, especially as it was a return to the genre for me. I had made Ambient tracks before in the past, but really feel like from this remix onward, I've finally been able to make the kind of Ambient I've wanted to for ages.
Listening to this with Breakaway audio and my Beats is absolutely sublime. You've manifested eternal happiness and sadness in this song. This incredible harmony makes me smile as I reminisce about the past, and it makes me cry because I miss those days so much. You've managed to capture the original feel yet enhanced it to an ethereal level that contains no words to describe its true beauty. You have a very special gift. You make music transcendental and life-changing. I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH!
Ok not usually one to comment on this stuff, but when I say I just FLASHED BACK to my freshman year of college. This song was my lullaby and so much more! Wow I didn’t realize how much I missed listening to this beautiful piece of art.
The feels are coming back to me
You did a great job with this remix, captures the nostalgia of the original and some how adds some positivity/happiness feeling to it, as if everything will be ok after all.
Even after 13 years later, this is one of my favorite Astral Observatory remixes. 😁
Bloody good job Ice! Listened all through, really relaxing stuff!!
I'll tell ya,, this tune is a real tearjerker.
every summer I used to go through every zelda game in the time line in order, this brings back so many memories! Thank you so much!
Such a beautiful song. I always loved Astral Observatory, and it Will always make my time swell whenever I listen to anything Astral and Observatory.
i love your remixes cuz they have a nice protective wrapping over them. Alot of remixes I find are high pitched and I think it should be more quiet
This is just the most beautiful version of "Astral Observatory" and i'm happy to have this Relaxing and soothing tune on my phone.Great job with this song. !!
One of my favorite versions
God, I think the Majora's Mask fandom is the nicest in the whole world of fandoms. It's like we all know eachother personally, even though we will never ever meet.
this is the dumbest thing ive ever heard eat a bullet
@@ItsSrsBzness but bro... you'd get like lead poisoning and shit. Not to mention bullets are made of metal. YOU CANT CHEW METAL!
Majora's Mask is, for me at least, the best and most emotionally involved game I've ever played. From witnessing the reunion of Kafei and Anju minutes before Clock Town's destruction to seeing a dying Mikau sprawled out on the shores of Great Bay, these experiences add up to something that ultimately transcends what a video game can be. Thank you for reminding me why this game is so incredible.
Oh my god this gives me the same feeling I get when listening to the original. This is some nice work
Beautifuuuuul. One of the most amazing pieces of music in Zelda history.
@neoncutie Thanks for sharing. I'm glad I was able to help :)
I've listened to this a thousand times =) you've got great talent, its absolutely beautiful. It was my favourite song when I played Majoras Mask as a kid.
The pic and the song match so perfectly. Everybody is happy after all the terrible things, but the happiness won't last forever. They are still enjoying the carnival, but Link knows that he must leave all his new friends and go back to his own world with Happy Mask Salesman.
Nostalgia... it gets the best of us.
The cure is to know we have experienced the best experience, and to love the memories we have.
Eu era feliz e não sabia, bons tempos do meu n64...
This is the first time I’ve heard your remix. It’s very good, but what really seals the deal is the comments. They are all so old, most of them being not that much older than me. Yet, it really feels like all these comments are present today… I can relate to some of them. It’s really things like this remix that survive thought time that make us really be.
hey man thanks alot for replying to me. eventhough i requested this thing ages ago (maybe even about a year) it is still thrilling to hear. definately the best of the remixes ;)
Peaceful, soothing, relaxing simply beautiful
I sleep to this everynight
Even though I know that fact I still seem to forget it when I'm playing Zelda. I'll never forget the childhood memories of Oot and Majora's Mask.
@TheXtremeReview Thankyou :) I was incredibly inspired for this.
I have to add by saying that listening to this is bliss. Not that it is a Zelda theme, but for all the great memories, this song is etched in my mind until I die.
In this game's epic context, there's this creepy moon slowly but surely encroaching ever closer to impacting with the earth. Humanity is well aware it's living out its last handful of days.
The atmosphere is heavy...and yet, in spite of it all, you're treated to this melancholic delight when you take it upon yourself to go to the astral observatory.
As someone else in the video's comments put it: "'Happiness in a dark atmosphere.' There's just something so beautiful and melancholic about a starry night sky, and I feel like this song really captures that feeling."
If I were ever facing an impending temporal doom, this is the kind of artistic construction/outlook I would like to impose upon it. Take everything in-but I mean everything, and not just the pleasant or unpleasant bits.
This is my absolute favorite version of "Astral Observatory" Im so glad i downloaded this to my phone :) Thank You for this Beautiful Masterpiece :)
Woohoo! He's gone! lol I asked for a bit of assistance on the forums so it's cool they were able to follow through. Now I'm gonna put those remixes up.
I want you to know that I thank god for people who have this wonderful ability to make suck a beautiful arrangement of an already beautiful song. You inspire me. Thank you.
This is freaking awesome! Beautiful. You should do more Zelda music like this!
I've just heard both your Song of Healing rebuilds and they are fantastic. Phenomenal work. I can't praise you enough. I am now currently listening to your Green Hill Zone Alectro 80's Reconstruction and it's bringing back so many fond memories. Your music is going to keep me up all night, though I'm sure I'll drift off to another world soon enough.
I'm 14 and this game has a place in my heart. A place that no other game can replace. From the day I got my N64 back in 99 I loved LoZ I still don't see how people can like call of duty more.
Wow! So good! Majora's Mask is my favorite Zelda game. There's so much to it and the storyline is beautiful and perfect. This brought back a lot when I used to play it with my brother. Such a beautiful remix. Love it!
I always begin to cry when i hear this song.Am i the only one who feels that all the worrys go away like nothing? That song is beautiful the Game was cool i have nothing bad to say! :)
Thank you for your ratings and comments. If you're a fan of Zelda, you should check out this page facebook.com/pages/BEN-Feature-film/564131003606186 This is for an upcoming adaptation of Ben Drowned which I'm composing for. You can watch some trailers and previews on the MichaelLeroi channel.
I think the picture and the music are fitting. Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask was a great reminder that one person can do so much for so many people. All you have to do is try for people and see it through succession. Link wasn't the type of person to be half-hearted in his ventures, and did as much as he could to help others. In the end, things were better for everyone, and in turn good things happened for him as well. Everything summed up lead to a happier ending.
im very impressed from this remix... ive been looking for songs like this on the internet and then i find this song... and it reminds me of my childhood so peaceful... i thank you for making this... this is truely amazing work... i wouldnt mind you remixing other songs as well after your done with the zelda remixes of course... such as final fantasy or other popular titles that people will enjoy... you sir have my rating of Heretic approved...
Thanks man :) And it's almost 2 years since I made this. I'm planning to put up an alternate remix on the date this year.
This gave me goosebumps, it was so good. It's one of my favorite majora's mask tunes, and you gave it a tangerine dream feel, mixed with owl city, and a movie soundtrack feel. I feel happy, sad, and intrigued at the same time. I cannot say that with many tunes out there. Fantastic remix. :D
Manly tears were shed the second I listened to this.
Love it, also that pic is so beautiful....its perfect. Ty for the upload ^^
Such a peaceful song for a place and time so close to destruction and death... like being in the eye of the storm...
"The flow of time is always cruel... its speed seems different for each person, but no one can change it... A thing that does not change with time is a memory of younger days..." Shiek
Nice song by the way. I'm listening to it at 12:33 AM and my little brother is sleeping behind me and when I checked to see if I had accidentally woken him up this music and the sight of him hit me so hard. I remember him being around 4 or 5 when I played Majora's Mask.
Amazing remix! Just brings back memories of the good ol' days.
*Nostalgia tears* This is a beautiful remix. Thank you for the trip :')
very nice song, thank you. Nearly made me cry, I miss this game so much
Ok you did it, I'am going to replay this game
nostalgia. i may be only 13 years old but i feel like i wasted the first 10 years of my childhood, not playing zelda. majoras mask is my favourite zelda game and this remix is making me very emotional. all the memories, the hours and plot just makes my life feel like im living since i played this game. this game has a special place is my heart and no one can take it away from me
It's great that this game can still inspire a young generation. You have my respect. :)
I'm 16 and started to play Zelda last year, now I regret I didn't play it earlier xD These games are such a big inspiration ^^
SAME.
I'm 14, played Zelda for the first time in June 2014. It was OoT3D, beaten it, played TP, beaten it. OoT3D was my favorite, TP was my least fav.
I played WW on my Wii with GCN support and I loved it. It became my fav zelda game, but I never beat it.
4 days ago, I bought MM3D. Even though I have it on my real N64, not VC or some shit like that...
It's my favorite Zelda game. I hope to beat MM3D and then get out from Deku Palace in the original game.
Do you know that sad feeling when you're really loving a game so much, you don't want it to end? Yeah. This is what I feel about MM. I just don't want to finish it... :'(
***** yeah. I can relate to this :D my first Zelda was Oot3D too and I'm in love with it. Then I played a bit of Phantom Hourglass (I didn't have the time to finish it D:) and the first LoZ on Virtual Console...I preordered MM3D and got it last Thursday and now I'm totally addicted to it xD
Added to my Favourites without hesitation.
@Barrioth And thank you for that comment :) I've also done Last Day in a similar style. My biggest influence for this particular sound is Vangelis. I highly recommend you hear his stuff also.
Dude you are amazing...This songs are just pure Nostalgia of true and beatiful feelings of the old times...This games are the best...But their music are eternal...
The image and music reminds me of my dreams.
Honestly, this made me tear up a little, especially when I noticed Anju and Kafei in the picture.
So beautiful and I'm feeling really nostalgic right about now. Children who play games like Call of Duty and what not...don't know the real childhood they've missed and the fake childhood they are going through now...So saddening.
This song helped me so much for some reason, I really can't explain it but it just relaxed me, made my night peaceful (till it got ruined Dx) But thanks to this song I had peace after a few years of turmoil and pain, Thank you.
Grew up playing this game I'll never forget it no matter how old I get nice remix btw :DD
I could listen to this song forever.
Beautiful art work and even greater music. Love it.
Sometimes I wonder if kids these days could say they enjoyed something like we did these games, and look back nostalgically we did... I just don't see works of passion like older games felt. Unless they from people that enjoyed these same things and try to emulate that, the target demographic then becomes us, older people. Mature games for older people, not for a wide audience, not easily accessible. Before games were about the experience, and about sharing something to the consumer. They weren't that grand, but they were an adventure. This kind of music takes you back to that moment in time when times used to be simpler... you can feel the calm and cozy coolness in the air. I may be blinded and say the same things older generations have said before, but I hear this music and I just can help but compare my younger times with the generations coming up. I hear this music and I can place myself back in 2000, even earlier, 1996, and to me, the memories are just as vivid... the sensations, the voices, the emotions, the colors, as if I had experienced them yesterday, maybe even clearer. That is just how much I enjoyed these games. Are we making games like these nowadays? Are new generations missing out on this? I hope we are, and I hope they aren't.
There still are games like these nowadays, but they're considered "indie", and take more of a backseat to the generic commercial titles. Which means unless today's generation seek out games like these, they'll most likely just lap up whatever is popular. It's the same with music. Either accept the shit on the radio or look for your own taste.
machinegun
I was born in 2006 and I love older games like Resident evil and Zelda games! I have N64 Majora’s mask on my Wii U and Ocarina of time on my wii u
Skull Kid was always an interesting character to me. He wasnt controlled by Majora, he wasnt influenced by Majora. He was influenced by the silly magic he obtained from it. Throughout the story, you dont see anything necessarily evil or harmful caused by Skull Kid. He pulled what he saw as 'childish pranks', like turning Kaffei into a little kid. Something an imp would do, and that's just what Skull Kid was. An imp. He was getting back at those who ridiculed him for being different. He finally felt a little bit of control after years of never having any sort of power over anything.
The moon wasnt Skull Kid's doing. It was Majora's. Majora caused the snow. Majora caused the poison. Majora caused the issues in all of the different areas. Skull Kid was being nothing more than a child who had a little bit of power.
So true.. growing up to these games was almost as they were your childhood friends...and everything was just flowing.. never more just an amazing game which you could float off in and not have a care in the world because we were young... damn now u made me sad
Thank you so much for remixes.
Nice remix! Real chiller!
This is so pretty but still quite dark in places, fits the game incredibly well!
@wolkittysama Thanks for the thanks! :) I am strict when it comes to these, and I'd like to do more, but I need to work out *how* first. That's the hardest part, the second is making it good.
Wonderful version! This is very relaxing
That Song is so beatiful :D it remains me of old times.Oooh how i miss that times...
skull kid and link being friends, what both of them were looking, a friendship
this game is so beautiful along with ocarina.. they really let your imagination run all over the place i fell in love with the characters they acted better than a lot of the people behave in the real world
the flow of time is like a river. its flow seems different to some, but none can change it. one thing that does not change with time is a memory of younger days
That image is wonderful, and the song is beautiful. :)
Haha yea they're pretty similar. Rhubarb is my fav from them. I draw a lot as well, and listening to that kind of music just gives me instant pictures and scenes in my head, same way with this one you've made. It's amazing :)
Majora's Mask was my favorite Zelda, it was one that was different and got away from Ganondorf, and had so much emotion built in the side quests collecting the rest of the masks through the game. This song is my favorite!! I always would just go to the observatory to listen to the music, sooo good!!!
Beatiful song. The pic in the video makes me so nostalgic.
@Ricouzuki That link just sends me to a 404 page. Is there any other way of finding the site? But anways, I use Fruity Loops with a bunch of soundsets. I've tried chillout a few times before but it's never come out as good as it has here. Thanks for your compliments :)
Dammit...just seeing Kafei and Anju in that picture...
MY HEART STRINGS, DAWG
