I lost my Dad to kidney cancer last year on October 2, 2018. He and I shared a unique bond in that The Legend of Zelda was one of his favorite series of video games to watch me play. Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask were three of his favorite titles. It never got old to watch me play and it never got old for me to play them while spending time with him. I still play these titles at random these days. I would like to think as my Dad was traveling to the peaceful avenue of the after life that this is what he heard on his journey. The bright light of noise you hear along with the birds at the end of this song signifies that my Dad made it to his destination peacefully. Every time I want to be reminded of him or if I just want to hear his voice again, I come back to these types of musical pieces that were crafted with the utmost touch and absolute pure, raw emotion. "Oath to Order" is a telling title because I feel it was my Dad's final battle against cancer. In ways, he was Link, and cancer was the Moon. Cancer came in three forms: Mask (diagnosis), Incarnation (cancer spreading, taking over without care), and Wrath (when the cancer took his ability to walk, talk, and ultimately his passing). This song is also a reflection of hope and not once during my dad's four month journey did he ever complain once about what this disease did to him. So, to me, I am at peace knowing he is not suffering any longer and that he is enjoying where he is at now. I am also at peace knowing that I will encounter him and my Baw Baw one day when my time is done on Earth too. God Bless anyone and everyone that has had to watch a loved one suffer through cancer. Thank you for reading.
Thanks for sharing your story. A great game can have the power to change someones life, and the Zelda games have helped connect a lot of people through their stories, puzzles, and music. The world of Termina and the sounds that have been woven into it I think offer the best incarnation in the series.
I like that you said you are at peace. You’re very deliberate in your wording; it’s a rather interesting sentiment to believe that this kind of media can do this kind of thing, but this phenomenal little video game really does have that kind of sway over others, myself included. Know that you’ve most definitely made my day.
This brought me to tears. My mother passed away from cancer when I was 7 and this was one of her favorite games to watch me play as well. Glad to know someone understands the pain yet peace the passing of a close loved one can bring
What I find about the animation in this part the very best, is how they displayed the giants legs shaking under the immense pressure to stop the moon, you can practically feel how they desperately struggle to keep the moon from going any further.
"It stopped." I nearly cry every time. Those of you who understand the deep melancholy and hope that burns with the conviction of the sun even when reduced to mere embers... you are my friends.
MM was about how Link passed away and was going through the stages of denial before death. That's why its sad, but unfortunately this song is about how hes finally accepted death hence "the world ending" so that's why its more of an accepting tone then it is a sad one.
User Soup123 It's only a theory. Although it fits well and gives the story quite a different meaning and depth than what one experience playing the game for the first time.
Apa Honestly for me it opens up quite a different perspective of this game. I recently learned about this theory and in doing so i was able to read the timeline alot more clear It made a real difference in how i played the series. As for new players Id have to disagree on what you said. Unless said new player is interested in the Chronology of The Legend of Zelda then knowing this theory doesnt change much for them at all. I feel it benefits more experienced LoZ players more then newer ones for it opens up new horizons for LoZ veterans.
User Soup123 MM was about Termina going through the 5 stages of grief because of it's destruction. Link canonly never died before, during or right after Majora's Mask, he even built himself a family as Twilight Princess Link is his descendent by blood and I start to get really annoyed by how many people misinterpreted the game because of Game Theory's nonsense.
ShibbyDaisy What your saying is just theory too you know.. Link lost Navi and was stricken with depression when he died he met up with Tatl and Tael(representing the good and bad in Navi hence the white and black) Skull kid represents the evil that could have been prevented(Ganandorf taking the triforce of power) in the beginning Link turns into a deck shrub(having to get past leaving his friend Saria behind to start a journey with Navi or in this case having to forget Navi and start a journey with Tatl) Next was the goron Darunia he felt guilty that he never went back to goron village when he saved Hyrule. which is why Darunias story is about him not being remembered as a hero Finally the zora.he promised to marry the zora girl and this tale is a tale of love never meant to be fulfilled. Link basically ditched her at the alter lol. last but not least the famous line from Majoras mask "youve met with a terrible fate havent you" which could be interpreted into Youve died and are looking for salvation arent you? all the many different theories still there is no exact answer on what the meaning behind it is. but like i said they are all theories even yours.
@@dreaming4ffr No I haven't actually so forgive me if I say anything wrong. I really want to but don't like the 3DS remakes. They change too much. But I know enough now that it was Majora's Mask. I just thought the kid was being heartless at first. Thanks for the correction.
There's both beauty and intensity, also I like that magic/dreamy touch you've put into it, a great version of one of my favorites from this soundtrack :)
The Four Giants them always seemed to send me chills down my spin. For some reason, when I watched them running onto the screen, trying to lift the moon with all their strength from it hitting the clock tower, I was always felt myself feeling such anticipation, even though I knew that they were going to catch it anyways. IceyOnly did an excellent job on making this song give you feeling of the dread and yet heroic actions that were taking place in this scene. Great job, like always :3
Thanks a lot. I played through the game again, myself. A few pain in the ass moments (3rd and 4th dungeons) but mostly plain-sailing. Thanks for the compliments.
I love your Zelda remixes that are "clouddrifter", they are so chill. My favorites are this, the Astral Observatory, and Song of Healing clouddrifter. These are all some of the calmest, and most well done remixes of these songs that I've heard. Thank you for making some of my favorite gaming tracks into something more interesting.
This song still give me the chills. I don't remember the last time I played this game, but, this is one of my absolute most favorite songs from the Zelda series... and your version is beyond epic. Thanks for sharing this.
I can not stop listening to this over and over. Thank you so much for making it, best remix I've ever heard of this song. It's a great length, it keeps the sad beauty of the song perfectly and even adds to it. Even Koji would adore this.
IceyOnly's Zelda remixes are my favorite video game remixes. They retain the original sound quality and ambiance from the original and take them to new heights. Fantastic music. Makes me really nostalgic but in a happy way.

well done sir, hats off to you, this brings chills to my arms and makes the hairs stand on end. just like the zelda storyline intended, amazing fusion of the observatory, and overall majora's mask theme. from a true fan to I'm sure another.

"And that little song there proved me wrong, right there and then." "What Ah found, though, was, this was no simple remix. No, this IceyOnly person had some kind of magic, I tell ya. They were able to take these songs that Koji Kondo had made, and could break them down, and see the true essence of them, see where the game failed Koji's vision. And IceyOnly could see what Koji's vision was, clear as crystal, and recreated the music as a perfected image of itself. Needless to say, Ah was awed."
Majora's mask was hands down the best Zelda game, ever. While everyone says it was Ocarina or a Link to the Past, look at Majora's Mask. It had an amazing soundtrack and story. The seriousness of the game made you truly get into it, made you feel helpless the first time you saw that moon crashing down on termina. The soundtrack, the final hours theme made you feel sorrowful for the people who's lives were 5 hours from ending, 5 hours from the festival they all wanted and loved. It was the best

"Back then, Ah was a gamefarin' dog, always on the lookout fer treasure. Ah found some, laddie." "Ah found mahself a game. Majora's Mask, if mem'ry serves. It glittered of gold, enticing to the eye, and the cartridge's label popped out at yeh. Ah'd played its predecessor, and it was a fine game, a real gem. This, Ah could bet, was pure gold. @TheEternalDarkwolf You're not the first person to request Stone Tower. It's a difficult one for me to do, but I'll get round to it sometime, hopefully. Thanks for the feedback :)
Absolutely fantastic. This and Last Day are two of my favorite video game sound tracks of all time, and your remixes are among the few that actually do them justice. On a side note, if you still don't know which Zelda theme to remix next, you might want to consider taking a crack at the "theme" of Majora's Mask. It serves as one of the primary musical motifs throughout much of the game (e.g. Southern Swamp, Ikana Canyon, etc.), and I bet you could easily take that melody and make it your own.

@TheEternalDarkwolf You're not the first person to request Stone Tower. It's a difficult one for me to do, but I'll get round to it sometime, hopefully. Thanks for the feedback :)
@IceyOnly Oh I missed a few! Tyvm for the link. I'm excited to see what you have for the next one! (and so on) xD
Aww man, this is WAY better than I expected!
Another one to add to my iTunes library.... haha.
The bit with just the guitar, chills down my spine. :)
This is great. Simply beautiful. Thank you for this. Brings back welcomed memories. :)
Thanks for the heads up on that Rainymood! Got the site open while playing a song called The Rain. lol
