Steamed Eggs with Prahok & Pork | ប្រហុកពងមាន់ចំហុយ

  • Cambodian steamed egg with prahok and pork:
    Ingredients:
    5-6 large eggs
    1/2 pound ground pork
    1 & 1/2 tablespoons fermented fish paste (prahok)
    1 teaspoon sugar (or to taste)
    1/2 teaspoon msg
    1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    1/2 tablespoon mince garlic (about 2 garlic cloves)
    chili peppers
    Instructions:
    1. In a bowl, add in ground pork, prahok, sugar, msg, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.
    2. Crack in the eggs and mix well. Top with some chili peppers and black pepper if you like.
    3. In a steamer or a large pot with enough water to steam, put the bowl inside and cover the pot. Let the mixture steam for about 35-40 minutes, or until the eggs and pork are fully cooked.
    4. Serve the Cambodian steamed egg with fermented fish and ground pork with steamed rice or as a side dish with fresh crunchy vegetables.

    This steamed egg, pork and prahok dip is delicious. Do you like the prahok dip that has fish roe sacks in it? It's delicious.😋🤤

      My husband loves it with fish roe! I’m okay with or without it. I think I made it like twice and only when we found them from some fresh catch striper.
