    I remember I watched just one this guys fights and thought he was a bit stiff and I was like "he's not that good really" and then a few years later I watched a lot more of him and seriously he's one of the best ever... He's sooooooooooo good it's unbelievable.

    I started kyokushin in '68 for 8 years, earning 4 black belts. During those years, we never did spinning kicks, claiming never turn your back on your opponent. And I trained under Donald Buck in San Francisco who was directly trained under the founder Mas Oyama. So when were spinning kicks introduced to kyokushin? I learned to incorporate them from my 10 additional years in kickboxing under Benny the jet Urquidez. Maybe kyokushin learned them from RUclips?

      theres "more practical" kyokushin and there is competition kyokushin... the latter actually teaches this more and encourages its use bc it doesnt matter if you fall to the ground in a competition. Not learning them at all is pretty cringe.
