I wish this kind of thing would just stop. I agree with Saban that it's 'rat poison'. We should be expected to keep a top roster every season. Maybe not THE best but top 5.

It's pretty amazing just how much the perception of this core of players has changed when you think about the dialogue surrounding them after their loss to Michigan and the loss in the Cotton Bowl.

    • @alphapapa5383
      @alphapapa5383 4 месяца назад +1

I don't think it is. There are a lot of emotionally responsive people in this fan base who weren't thinking about the facts when reacting to those things. Biggest things in the Cotton bowl was: losing starting center, losing starting quarterback, and losing arguably the best player in college football due to draft. Every one of those has been addressed, and people are evening out now and allowing the pendulum to swing.

The perception amongst sucknuts fans yes. Most people with a brain know you guys aren’t getting over the hump this year. The mentality is still the same. Only team soft enough to lose the COTTON bowl to the 5th best sec team. Only team that complains about injuries after every loss not realizing that you have to field more than 22 players for a game. Only team that claims the bowl game didn’t matter despite the fact that if you’d have won, you’d all be bragging about beating an sec team which you’re 2-13 against all time in bowl games and 5-16 all time in general. Key losses like Eichenberg and Stiles will hurt. Nobody is gonna just come in and be Marvin Harrison for you. Will Howard hasn’t passed for more than 2300 yards in a season in his career. There’s plenty of red flags about this team. Nobody points them out.

I absolutely LOVE the Buckeyes, but the accumulated talent on this roster won't matter if - like last season - the QB regularly makes incorrect reads, blocking assignments continue to be missed, and the offensive coaching is tighter than a snare drum.🌰🌰

Yeah and he was one pass block away from being the No 1 seed in the CFP’s……and the team that beat him won it all and got to play our Buckeyes at home.
So, IMO, you and all the other haters => poisoned that kid’s chances more (with your never ending criticism and negativity) than this team has with everyone’s never ending praise and accolades.

@@jerrico001 you may or may not be => being honest here about your own personal conduct (I don’t know you but ok giving everyone the benefit of the doubt) but I can’t do that collectively….I can’t….as there were plenty of RUclips and social media and journalistic media platforms that went beyond criticism => and the kid went 12-1, losing only to the National Champions at their place.
I can’t say your supposed honest criticism was needed => because all it really accomplished was piling on.
IMO, a more fair criticism would have been and still is => that his Offensive Line was at the bottom or near the bottom of O-lines Ohio State has had since I was a Freshman at OSU in 1978.
Question for ya and please be honest => how much honest criticism did you give CJ Stroud his first year starting ?
CJ led our offense to 7 whole points in the first half versus Oregon….. and his INT at the end of the game lost the game for us.
And he was playing at home, in the Shoe against a team playing without their best defensive player.
      CJ sucked vs Minnesota
      CJ sucked vs Nebraska
      CJ sucked versus Tulsa
      CJ sucked versus TTUN
Please let us know which podcasts you left him honest criticism for those games, so I can check it out.

Yup… Saban criticized this kind of talk as the #1 source of self-destruction. He absolutely hated it. And, the fact of the matter is that every team Ryan Day has had has been top 3 teams, and he’s underperformed with every one of them. I hope we’re as advertised, but I’ll believe it when I see it.

@@phillamoore157 Nah they were never preseason #1 or favorites to win the title in the Day era or had the #1 recruiting class so finishing in the top 5 almost every year is actually over performing especially when 4 of the 5 years had to endure a full defensive rebuild with last year finally finishing the rebuild that started in 2020.Top 3 Offense in most yea sure but not top 3 talent in any of Ryan Day's 5 years the Defense was atrocious and had to be completely rebuilt from the ground up with a new DC, scheme and time to acquire competent players.

7 Bill. . . Woody, Earl, Coop, Tress, Fick, Urb's, And the 7th is Ryan Day! 7 is a good number and I can not wait to see this TEAM play. I think Howard is a vast improvement over McCord, simply because of his willingness and ability to actually run the ball. The rushing game hasn't been what it was since we had a willing runner (Hello Justin) and with Judkins added to Trey and the line more experienced. . . Will doesn't have to be a great thrower of the ball just a good point guard (Hey Jay Burson or JT Barret) and that 14 offense hummed under JT before he got hurt at Meatchicken!!! And if this D lives up to half it's potential. . . Good luck scoring against them! Come on August 31st!!! O H. . .
