Na, wouldn't fit his narrative about Ohio probably winning the game if there wasn't an OPI.. like the nation didn't see him extend both arms to push the defender away immediately before the ball was thrown to him
Such hypocrisy from these pundits. So cam ward is too backyard for Colin, but the guy who was the prototypical backyard player, Caleb Williams, was touted as a generational player and the best player in decades….ok?! 😂
The PI Klatt is defending was a textbook Offensive PI. Also, Oregon didn't have their best pass rusher in Jordan Birch and picked off Will Howard on the first drive of the game and instead they called it a completion for Ohio State.
People keep talking about Georgia struggling. The vibe I get is 2006 Florida where people thought OSU would just thump them because no one looked at Florida's brutal schedule. Same with Georgia.
Wrong. If you want to say Ohio State gets a play back they win the game… I can point to a half dozen Oregon plays that amounted to over 10 points including subtracting 7 for the missed call for Ohio State. Oh wow they beat a Penn State team by a touch down who played terrible. Ohio State is a bunch of paid players, but not a team. If Oregon plays good, it’s not even close. They almost lose to Nebraska at home? Lol every time I start to like Klatt I see some take like this from him and I’m like nope, the guy is living 20 years in the past living off logo hype.
It is sad to see these so-called experts be so unprofessional and bias. Sanders, number-wise, isn’t in the top 6. Not only that, his team has two losses. And for people to say that hunter should be the heisman winner is a joke as well. He missed two games and he isn’t a top ten receiver or DB. Just because he plays two ways he shouldn’t be considered the best with no stats to back that claim?
I was actually thinking about that. Their stats aren't as good as one might think despite being Heisman front runners. Don't misunderstand, I think their great but I thought their stats would express as much also. Does the Heisman take stats into account or is it just a quality play that shows that you are invaluable to your team (like when Hunter caused that fumble in the end zone that won them a game)? Just curious, b/c I honestly don't know. Anyone know the criteria?
@ well, he is actually tied for 3rd with 6 other QB’s for TD’s but still 8 behind Ward. Not sure where completions come into play. But sanders is 10th in passing efficiency, 8th in passing yards, 16th in yards per attempt, 11th for points responsible for ( Ward is #1), and in QBR Sanders is 28th with a 74 and ward is a 92 and #1. Sanders should nowhere be considered in the heisman talk.
Why is it that Georgia’s offense only succeeded in the Texas game because they had short fields when Texas only scored when they had short fields as well?
Klatt can't give Oregon credit for anything because he is a Colorado fan. He doesn't like Oregon. He tolerates Oregon and if they fail he will be the first to say "I knew they weren't as good as Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia ect." Can't stand Klatt.
Klatt doesn’t care. Ascribing this bias to him falsely presupposes that he’s opining as a fan. His credibility as a television broadcast color commentator and as a national CFB analyst supersedes his personal bias. He doesn’t operate in the same space as Finebaum.
Joel Klatt wasn't biased at all with a Ohio State banner behind him and only pointing out what he thought was questionable calls that didn't go Ohio's way but there were obvious calls on the other teams that helped Ohio.
- OSU walks into Texas and doesn’t quiet the crowd, loses to Texas. the reason for this is because UGA was disrespected ALL WEEK JOEL. they’ll praise OSU and give them a chance against Texas as they assumed UGA would get flattened. - Indiana has the same record as Michigan last year at this current time, played the similar SOS, had more PPG than Michigan, and is ranked #8 while Michigan was ranked #3. “He’ll hold the ball instead of throwing it away to keep his completion percentage up.” Man if you could describe a Colorado player in one sentence, that’s it. Self serving individuals out for themselves not their team.
I agree with the score not lining up with how the game went idea. Ohio States defense gave up 3 more TD’s against Oregon, since there were three WIDE OPEN TDs they missed. And they should’ve had the first turnover, so you can take the first OSU score off the table too, and the spitting play, with second and goal should’ve been 7pts instead of 3. Also, the penalty the Big10 said they got wrong with the illegal lineman down field, since it was a WR, and that cancelled out a defensive PI from Ohio State that cancelled out another scoring drive, for Oregon. Oregon will tighten that stuff up for their rematch and score the 55-69pts they should e had in Eugene, against the buckeyes.
I like Klatt, however, his use of the "questionable" pass interference call in the in the Ohio-Oregon saying they had the Ducks "dead to rights" is just wrong and not "just the truth". Let's not forget the Ducks spotted OSU a touchdown on a clear interception that was missed on the first drive of the game. And it was OSU clock mismanagement that cost them the game.
I cant believe Joel keeps bringing up that one call at the end of the game like its all that matters. How about the missed interception early on? You'd think he would know that MOST games have lots of pivotal moments ... Oh thats right... He probably has Ohio State people looking at hom AS he talks there...
Colin clearly doesn't actually watch games. Oregon and Ohio State moved the ball the same, they were within 25 yards of each other. Both teams moved the ball at will in that game.
They are making Oregon out to be the best team in the nation. They BARELY got past Ohio State. Oregon can’t beat any of the teams in the top 5! Respectfully.
@@TreyMoeKeishaJones I agree with you, but Josh Pate said that they've been performing better as of late compared to other SEC teams. The play in the SEC has been inconsistent. I understand that it can be argued that the level of play is higher in the SEC; therefore, inconsistency will be a byproduct, but I also see Josh's argument. However, imo I still think a win against an SEC powerhouse like Georgia is much more significant than a win against OSU. If Oregon played @ Alabama, @ Texas, @ Ole Miss, then Tenn. Oregon could easily drop one of those games. I know its not the most popular opinion, but I still feel its true.
Klatt always brings up the OPI on Smith vs Oregon which was a clear cut OPI. He 100% pushed off and 100% had his arms extended. They had Oregon "dead to rights" but he conveniently leaves out the fact that Oregon had an interception on Ohio State's first TD drive that not only didn't get called, but it didn't even get reviewed which would usually be the case 9/10 times on a play like that. And it was 100% a pick. So Oregon should have won the game by at least 8 pts. And then there were two failed 2 pt conversions which was Lanning getting cute. He should have just taken the extra points. Then Oregon's kicker missed a kick he makes 9/10 times. Then Gabriel missed a 5 yard pass to Tez Johnson in the redzone which Tez would have walked in. That missed pass was very, very uncharacteristic of Gabriel. Point being, Oregon could have won that game by a couple TDs and they definitely should have won it by at least 8 pts with that botched interception by the refs. Klatt can cry about that OPI by Smith all he'd like because he's biased, but it still doesn't change the fact that it was 100% pass interference. Oregon has only gotten better with each game and has been putting games to bed in the 1st half. Ohio St almost lost to an average at best Nebraska. UCLA looked better against Nebraska. And then they had their overhyped win over a typical overrated Penn St team. Penn St is Penn St every year. They beat bad teams and lose to good teams. They have a solid D and an average offense which has regressed as the season has gone on. Penn St is a top 25 team, but I don't think they're a top 10 team. So congrats to Ohio St for beating an overrated PSU by a TD. But to my original point, why doesn't Klatt ever bring up the fact that Ohio St should have had 7 less pts vs Oregon?
Bro, you can’t say OSU has Oregon dead to rights with the Pass interference and not look at the interception Oregon had that didn’t get looked at and gave OSU 7 points. And that’s not even adding on the points Oregon left on the field. It’s just disingenuous.
Offensive pass interference call was pretty obvious. Full extension of arms pushing the Duck DB backwards. But didn't the refs miss the fumble call during the Ohio State's first drive where Howard fumbled the ball clearly and an Oregon lineman picked the ball up and ran into the endzone. But an "early" whistle (?) and the completely missed call by the refs removed a potential 14-0 lead to start the game. So Klatt, we can play the "What If?" games all day long. Bottom line: Scoreboard.
Wow Colin that’s not you talking about Colorado. Remember what you said about them they weren’t gonna win anything so I see you jumped on the ship too all right you can come on home with us Colin You could be with us now.

Such a lame take. Do better. Oregon out rushed them, had more passing yards, had more sacks and more points. Game over. Oregon won, period.
I think that point was that OSU shot themselves in the foot. Self inflicted wounds gave Oregon the game even given all the other wild things that happened that game. No OPI and Oregon probably loses.
