For those actually curious about the science and methods of brewing different coffees, I highly recommend James Hoffman on youtube. You actually see him in this video swirling a chemex. He's a champion barista, ownes his own coffee roastery in the UK and his videos are top notch.

Love this type of content! Is a more personal experience between Lew and us. Wish I could afford one of those coffee machine. I enjoy mine with fresh ground beans and the simplest method of boiling water and pouring into the coffee 🤤
Definitely! I've seen people on Twitter giving him slack for making this kind of video, but I love him for it. I mean, I've watched him review a McDonald burger, at this point he can review the air and I'd still love it.
He did a similar one for a toaster I believe, that was also very interesting. He used to do a lot of such cool products kinda stuff, I miss those days.

i have a Nespresso we got on a steep discount and it is so good but cold brew and the french press is also very good if you can afford the time it rakes for those options. we also have a regular pot maker for those days we have a ton of people over that we can make pot after pot so we don't need to spend a ton of money on coffee pods for the machine

You should have done the Nesspreso Vertuo Machine. It also uses the spinning method but is similar to the Kuerig in convenience with pods

Nah... for coffee. 1st: find good beans (local roaster), 2nd: get a good grinder. That’s it. Other things don’t really matter.
Its odd how taste evolve. Once I thought one mark of coffee was great, but when we started to buy beans and more dark roasts and around 4 years been using same bean mark and really dark roast. That coffee we once thought was great, it taste bad and tbh, every other coffee taste really bad. Is it good or bad, dont know, I love good coffee, but now I enjoy to drink only dark roast´s and only few different beans, before I was able to enjoy wider variety.

At the end what really matters is the temperature and pressure it is able to work with, not how fancy it looks or smartphone app it uses.

I received my Spinn Coffee maker early on. I love the different styles of coffee the machine makes. As you can imagine, good coffee beans make all the difference. Some coffee tastes much better than others. If you get a "bad" cup of coffee with your Spinn machine, get rid of those beans and try a bean you know you like. In my home, we make about 70 cups a coffee a month. I am prompted by the Spinn app about once a month to clean my machine. It costs extra money to purchase the cleaning solution from Spinn. All-in-all I will continue using my Spinn coffee maker, with much satisfaction, for years to come.

And I'm pretty sure this machine is not any better than my cheap (ish) Jura E60 despite costing three times more. Also, it's app controlled. Which is pretty much a synonym to built-in obsolescence. One day they'll stop support and your expensive coffee machine will turn into a brick.
The thing is this is actually a very normal price for a premium coffee machine haha.
However I would like to see it up against other high end versions of coffee brewing. This is a shitty representation of an experiment

Yeah man, Lew stopped being a genuinely truthful reviewer years ago.. You'll find that he's only honest about cheap stuff he buys for himself and the channel, rather than stuff that's sent in to the studio..

Get yourself a $15 french press and try it out. I haven't skipped a day of using mine in years, after graduating from instant.
@@yaseenal-saleem2599 i did french press and both Nespresso Pods line ( original and Vertuo). There’s no competition, Nespresso is the closest thing I’ve tasted that almost match the real italian espresso machines that cost thousands.
get a good hand grinder, an aeropress/kalita/v60/chemex/ect, and a water filter, and then buy propper beans..

Fancy coffee machines do make a tastier coffee. But I've always reverted back to instant coffee because when I wake up, I want a coffee, not a tech session.
Having your body wake up with caffeine is not that healthy. Unless theres new knowledge it kills your natural wake up and makes your body needy of caffeine to wake up.
Also theres coffee machines that you just push a button and you have your espresso or cafe crema, cappuccino whatever. It literally takes 1 min :)
Fully automated espresso machines will make you perfect coffee with a touch of button. You only have to empty them once a week to clean bin with old coffee

What we have here is a man who loves coffee analyzing the relative merits of a couple different makers and methods of producing a liquid form of coffee from the dry ground coffee beans. He drinks the respective liquids after they are produced and receives a nice applause after the respective analyses. He was particularly praised for his downgrading the instant coffee. Apparently some members of his audience have had some negative experiences with instant coffee and wished to express solidarity with the lecturer.

What reviews are you talking about? This machine has just started to be delivered and not even the first batch is complete. There are a lot of people upset that there were so many delays and some units were sent out to early backers for testing to find bugs and such, but other than that I have seen no recent bad reviews.

Yeah if you love coffee, it's worth spending the money. I bought my automatic expresso machine which is still 100% functional today, 10 years ago for like 800$. Which is not a lot if you think about how long a machine like that lasts you if you take good care of it.
Something you just don't go back once you had it. Freshly grinded coffee in the morning is just sooo good.

After four weeks at the home office (at the beginning of the pandemic), I bought a little real espresso machine with a separated grinder etc. :) I can feel the moment of joy by drinking a real coffee

If you like coffee, you can get a really good bean-to-cup machine for £250-500 that will be one of the best purchases you ever make. I bought a De'Longhi Magnifica 4200 about 8 years ago and it's still making great coffee every day. There are so many online stores selling great coffee beans now too.
