While the unit works, it work adequately, though it's on the loud side. However after only 15 months, the unit no longer produces cold air. Whether it's the compressor or the coil is irrelevant. It's not cost-effective to pay a professional to fix a unit at this price point, so it's now trash after only a year plus. Caveat emptor!
@@diablocow13 No, though I wrote to Shinco and explained the situation, they would only offer me a small discount on a new one. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice shame on me. I'll never ever spend a dime on their trash.
Yes, but you need to set it correctly, if you set it to like 21 or 23, then it will never shut off lol. Just because the setting says 27, that is not accurate temp of room, but around that setting will cut off and on and be cool enough
My vent blades on the one I just installed stay almost closed and then open a little bit facing down. They aren’t open like yours. Am I supposed to force them to a more open position?
Great question lol, not sure, but I can tell you that you can't hurt anything by physically moving blades. Mine is always closed until turned on. Then fully open
@@aussie-wizzard1213 Thanks. I went ahead and opened them using my hands, and nothing snapped lol. So I’m good to go. It actually is not that loud a unit. Like you were saying.
Did you purchase the 4-year warranty??? I know it comes with a year warranty anyway but Amazon offered a 4-year warranty for $49 and I was wondering if it was worth it.
I was looking for the warranty that often times is offered by Amazon, but I did not see it with the Shinco 10,000 btu model. But I bought it anyways off Amazon, for three reasons: price and btu, timer function, and included wall kit. If this proves reliable, I would be happy I did not spend extra for a brand name. So Mr. Wizard, how's she holding up?
@aussie-wizzard1213 theres a short in it somewhere only had it 3 months if it kicks on at all i can obly run it on low as soon as i try and hit high it shuts off
I just bought one of these and when I plugged it in I got a FL error. Tank Full? I checked it, I literally just opened the box. It won't do anything until this error is fixed. Any suggestions other than contacting seller?
Good review. Just bought my first shinco portable air conditioner 8000 btu. It is refurbished but works great like it should.
Thanks for the review. Beautifully explained
Good review thank you. I keep forgetting you use Celsius so I was confused why you had it set so low 🤣
Thanks for the AC review, it's very helpful.
Cheers for the review mate! Top Notch.
Super useful, thanks.
Someone pay this man!!
All review should be like this 😄
Great Review 🙌🏽

So it's good for 15 months of continuous use ?
@@kennethkimbroug8087 No, it was only used for one summer, about 4 months. Then at the beginning of the next summer, it died.
@@rcharding SAME! Did you ever get it fixed/ Mine sucks now too (no cool)

@@rcharding You went to their website and filled out the "contact us" form? I did that 3 weeks ago...urgh
So you recommend a window unit instead of those?
Window are more efficient, depends on your situation ie renting or owner of house or unit
Does your automatically turn off after a while then turn back on and does it again after some time?

Hey. May you do a video on how you clean it. I have one but it’s time to be cleaned
On back you will see a mesh cover, take it off, or slide out then wash the fine screen, then put back

What was the outcome of this if you don't mind me asking ?
FL is tellingyou to drain water. just look on the back of the unit
realize that no water comeing out why
@@TreyWaylifestyle because it uses the water to cool compressor, leave the plug in
Mine makes a lot of noice tho
Follow the 10 commandments Christians and ask for forgiveness so you go to heaven and repent from your sins.
Does Jesus use this AC unit and is he offering to review it? Then why are you posting this off-topic nonsense?
