TeenNicks commercial breaks this time last year: Acne cream, Snackeez, Don't Smoke PSA, Acne cream, Snackeez. I quickly grew to hate the Snackeez commercial......alot. Don't know how they are now, but I'm guessing it's not too different.
I notice that a lot of the commercials that play on FXX during the old Simpsons reruns are just basically for cat food, weight loss, and AARP/life insurance stuff. When I realized this, I felt a bit insulted that they felt that people who enjoy watching older episodes of The Simpsons are fat old people with lots of cats.
Oh my goodness! I have another problem with those commercials: They're so stereotypical! I'm a teenage girl, and I don't care about my appearance, I have no use for fashion, I don't have or want a cell phone, and I never have sex! I also don't like to use acne cream, because it makes me feel oily. To take care of my acne, I scrub my face with a cleanser whenever I take a shower. Now, I've been thinking of checking out The 90's Are All That, because I love cartoons, and most of the 90's Nicktoons I've heard about sound like I'd love them (except for Rocket Power; I hate sports, and I hate slang) and I don't want those stupid commercials shoved in my face when I'm checking out CatDog or Rocko's Modern Life, or something. I want to watch cartoons; not ads that stereotype my gender and age!
I agree. A little less acne cream and pregnancy test commercials. As a teen girl, if someone has acne and they want to get rid of it, they can get acne cream on their own and find what works for them. Commercials won't convince anyone to do crap. It's not like I can get the colony of pimples and acne scars on my forehead taken away by watching the commercial. Plus, Proactiv sucks. It burnt my face and made the redness double. TeenNick just thinks people are dumb enough to care about commercials
I feel like I have a different type of problem with the commercials that air on TeenNick. For some reason, I just really dislike the way the channel handles the type of commercials they air. In example, I'd be watching iCarly and then when it hits to commercial break, one minute I'd be watching an PSA ad about smoking, then all of a sudden, the next ad is about Pillow Pets (which are aimed at young children about 5-10 years old). I'm like, "Umm....I'm a 20 year old here watching a TEEN oriented channel. Since when am I watching commercials about Pillow Pets, Nerf sport balls, Bubbles, train tracks that can bend while your toy trains move, Snackeez, etc?" 😐

guys have self esteem issues too not just girls. as for the commercials I don't care about commercials like that, I find them annoying, and as for the whole commercial telling you to do your own thing and not follow trends...that's a good thing. but I do see the irony in doing that when the commercial is telling you to do that. but I've had that mentality my whole life, so that doesn't apply to me

Nick is turning it that too with icarly and True jackson and Victorious, while Icarly isnt that bad, its all just too girly. I think CN is atleast appealing to boys. I think they need to balence out more.

As of late; the only soap operas airing in the United States are "General Hospital" on ABC, "Days of Our Lives" on NBC, "The Bold and the Beautiful" on CBS, and "The Young and the Restless" on CBS. I'm left wondering which one of those soaps will get the axe as they have gone on for far too long. There have been no new soap operas created since 1999; when "Passions" debuted on NBC. Soap operas are a dying genre of TV programming because of multiple factors: 1.) Rising production costs. 2.) More women in the workforce (when there were multiple soap operas on TV; this was when women were stay at home wives and mothers.) 3.) Aging and shrinking viewing audience (the viewership numbers of soap operas is on the decline as the audience ages and unfortunately dies. These viewers are elderly people who grew up during the time period where soap operas ruled the landscape of Daytime Television programming.) 4.) Increasing popularity of reality shows, game shows, TV court shows, talk shows, and Telenovelas.
Degrassi is gone, nowadays TeenNick is 24/7 HenryDanger and Dangerforce. Literally no point of this channel existing anymore. NickRewind was discontinued in early 2022 in an effort to force viewers onto Paramount Plus.

Honestly, I'm more upset about the implications of the commercials for pregnancy tests than the acne medication. I mean, yeah, I get that teen pregnancy is a thing, but at the same time, constantly marketing pregnancy tests to teens with the same vigor as acne cream is a bit of a dick move, no? Like saying, "Yeah, all teenagers constantly screw like rabbits. And when they miss a period, WE'LL BE THERE, DAMMIT!"
Sadly I used to watch Degrassi but after about a season of watching it became extremely repetitive and got plain boring. Nowadays all I watch is Regular Show....
I don't like how they only show the 90's block at midnight. (Keep in mind, I was too young to have actually watched it during the nineties, more like in the early 2000s, but... lol) It's really annoying. They should scatter it throughout the day. I used to like Degrassi but it went down hill. Especially after season 11. I like that they show Ned's, Zoey, etc. but it's aggravating when they show the same episodes one day and then again the next; so on. They really should add some variety and get rights to other TV shows, or produce their own shows.

You are 100 percent correct with this. I watched degrassi a lot and that was one of the things that got me to stop watching was because all those ads are not only bad, but repetitive as all hell. You nailed it right on the head.
A few weeks ago when I still had Teen Nick and I watched 90's are all that almost everyday I kept seeing a commercial for this acne cream called Epiduo and it was on pretty much every commercial break.

Sadly I used to watch Degrassi but after about a season of watching it became extremely repetitive and got plain boring. Nowadays all I watch is Regular Show....

I don't like how they only show the 90's block at midnight. (Keep in mind, I was too young to have actually watched it during the nineties, more like in the early 2000s, but... lol) It's really annoying. They should scatter it throughout the day. I used to like Degrassi but it went down hill. Especially after season 11. I like that they show Ned's, Zoey, etc. but it's aggravating when they show the same episodes one day and then again the next; so on. They really should add some variety and get rights to other TV shows, or produce their own shows.

A few weeks ago when I still had Teen Nick and I watched 90's are all that almost everyday I kept seeing a commercial for this acne cream called Epiduo and it was on pretty much every commercial break.
