I am an Asian who grew up with dragon parents who stressed academics over anthing else.
When I got to college, I was no longer constrained and had the time of my life, partying, girls, sports and other activities that I was not free to do growing up.
My grades suffered, but I would never have developed into the social, free-spirited and outgoing person I am today if not for my life experiences in college.
I regret having so many last minute cramming and all-nighters, but not doing the activities I was involved with, only with my poor time-management.
As a parent now, I know to give my kids space to find themselves in HS so they don't have to spend significant college time making up for loss time 😊.
Man I feel the same way, after finishing my first year in college, I realized that I didn’t really socialize or do clubs or extracurriculars or really anything outside of school other than worrying about college being extremely difficult after hearing it from peers before being enrolled.
So long, Cameron. You are a great ambassador for UF, and I am sure that you have helped many people with your videos.

i just finished my freshman year, i definitely noticed i would be in the library studying a lot. making some changes next year.
Hard work pays off, but like I said in the video it’s all about finding the balance. I’m sure you’ll crush it next year!

I am a rising sophomore with a very similar situation to yours. I recently decided to double major in Finance and Accounting and I figured out I could do it in the next 6 semesters but I would have to take 5 hard classes each semester till I finish. I’m glad you made this video telling me to balance my grades and social life because I had started to prepare myself for the beginning of the end when it comes to life outside of school. Thank you

100%. If it wasn’t for my fraternity I never would have had fun haha
