I’ve had this since it came out. Venting is great. Protection is solid. The rib plates are appreciated. I have rolled down many rock infested hills in mine. Think of it like the Leatt HD Pro 5.5, but not suffocating in the heat. Works with my Leatt GPX brace when I use it.
I just got this and have not tested it yet, but I will in an upcoming video. So far the venting seams excellent and I really like the fit and awesome rib protection. The shoulder pads seam strange to me as they don't really sit where they need to and seem light on coverage. If I adjust them closer to the neck where I think they should be they start to feel restrictive. put them to the outside of the shoulder and they feel fine, but then the front/top of the shoulder feels vulnerable....we shalll see.
I ride trails, not mx, would a normal roost protector with shoulder guards be sufficient protection or are they really only for protecting from actual roost? Dumb question maybe but would like to know if I can spend $50 as opposed to $200. Thanks
I would just look for one that is CE rated for impacts rather than just a roost deflector. But 50$ isn't going to get you anything with shoulder protection that is CE rated. You'll have to spend quite a bit more than that. - Chase
I rode in the A-6 for about a year and it will fit better under a jersey. I did remove the shoulder pads, though. Only think about that A-6 I didn't like is how long the back protector is, it went just past my waist line which I didn't like very much. But overall, it's a solid piece. I'm now using the new A-1 Pro and love it. - Chase
Why is this called a roost deflector? I almost overlooked it because I want a chest protector with CE certified ratings. Looked at the specs and this thing is CE certified to the same level as the Leatt 5.5 HD PRO. It should be called a Chest Protector, not a roost deflector.
Unfortunately, this roost deflector doesn't have an option with elbow protection. You could check out something like the Bionic Tech V2 Protection Jacket which includes CE level 1 elbow armor. Could it be Leatt 6.5 better for Ribs , Back , Chest protection than Alpinestars A10 ? Recently I had a fall on my adventure bike ( relatively low speed during breaking before 90deg turn on the gras field and sadly...3 ribs and collar bone gone . I am on a search for something better ...probably it is going to be air vest this time ;)
The upper piece of the back panel is removable for fitment with neck braces (you can see the removal of that piece at 4:00 in this video), but the full back plate is not removable.
Between this, the Fox Airframe, and the Fox Raptor, which has the best rib protection? I am recovering from bruised ribs and a partially collapsed lung, and want to buy better protection so I can start riding again as soon as I am healthy. Thank you.
@@pwrstnd ya I got 2 v2000 and I love them and I want something new but no one makes anything like them....saved me from a dislocated shoulder/possible broken collarbone and I'm just not comfortable with how any of these new ones look as far as shoulder protection goes
I'm sure you could. Some kidney belts are a little larger in the back so you could possible run into an issue there but I'm sure it would work fine with most.

@@RafaLauris +1. Please include weight of body protectors, like you do with helmets.

What leatt gpx do u have I just got the leatt gpx 5.5 now looking at armour cheers
Amy Tomvald I have the GPX 5.5 neck brace. It works correctly with the A10.

I like the training videos on your channel; thanks! I don't see a video though regarding the A'stars A-10. How do you like it?
Any update? I couldn't find any review about it in your channel.
By the Way, it is completely CE Level 2. Also the Shoulders, just got mine and checked it inside the Shoulder Pads.
How does this compare to the new Leatt 6.5 pro? I'm looking for great protection, including ribs with good overall ventilation.
Been wearing the A10 for a number of years. There aren’t any better ones out there super full coverage comfortable to wear I feel safer with it on
What elbow pads would you recommend, I was going to go full jacket but gonna get this roost deflector and some elbow pads separate
I got one took a small spill my ribs are killing me now can u recommend me something to help protect my ribs better
Leatt 6.5 maybe?
Excellent chest protector, but does not work well with other neck braces (outside of the Alpinestars of course).

Can I use an elbow protector with it?thanks
Which vest is good for like street riding/ racing style ?
Hey Chase!!! Which one do you prefer between Alpinestar's A6 and A10?
Which one is more low profile to wear under the shirt?

Do they make this with elbow protection? I only ride in the woods

I would say that they are about even as far as coverage goes. Both are great options - Chase
I have 176cm height and i weight around 105kg.I took L/M size and look so small on me.But im afraid XL would be not for my height. What u thnik ?
Waooo very cool.
how much does it weigh?
a-4 review??
How is it with a hydration pack?
I use a Kriega Hydro 3 with mine. No issues.
Will this work with the leatt gpx 5.5 neck brace?
It wouldn't work as well as the Alpinestars brace, but I think it would work alright. - Chase
Isnt this a CE2 chest protector, not a roost deflector?
You are right, this is CE2 rated chest and back protection.
What about shoulders??
@@jklucy Shoulders are CE level 1
Dose it work good with the atlas neck brace
I haven't tried this on with the Atlas, but I think it would work well. - Chase
Yeah mate hundred percent
Do you guys ship to india?
We don't, sorry.

They need to make chest protectors like the JT v2000 nothing that I have seen has shoulder and collarbone protection like that
That was a great chest protector. I miss my old Thor Mach V also. Can't find a modern one I like.
