You’re not kidding. It was a looooooong wait for this record. This song is sonic art. Hard to even call it a song. The amount of thought and effort that goes into all these tracks deserves all the praise they are getting.

As a Tool fan who stumbled in to an all ages show with Henry Rollins and "special guest" right in the middle of grunge center Seattle in 1992... The special guest was TOOL! Their 26th show ever and they blew the F------ place down! I bought the EP from Adam. I saw all the grunge bands in bars and in their prime and Tool came to town and changed me. I still have the ticket stub! So to your question about the wait between the last 2 albums I went through every emotion from anger to hate but I could not stay away as they are an addiction as a drummer myself. I had to keep listening because I couldn't figure out how to play most of it. Danny is king! I had been chasing Tool around to various shows and festivals here in the states and they were teasing us with a version of this song so it was the first one I played when the new album came out. I have to admit I sobbed my eyes out it hit me so hard. I waited and they delivered their best music in my opinion and I love it all. I look forward to more of your Tool reactions, any song it doesn't matter!

I started waiting for this album like 2 hours after I bought 10,000 days, because I didn't love it at first, It grew in me, but I loved FI from the begining, maybe because I waited a loooong long time.
Is it me or do you guys hear the same rif mid song from 10,000 Days which spoke of his mom ascending to heaven? I'm not sure but I doubt that was unintentional
Quality over quantity Maynard kept us busy with his side projects. But it definitely was a long wait it was almost a fantasy to imagine a new album . …. Is it selfish to want just one more?
