I was just diagnosed with cancer . I have a pet scan today . This was the most informative video I have seen yet. It answered several questions and got straight to the point . I must say I'm starving right now though , as of course you have to fast before the scan !! 😂Thank you all !! 🙏💙
I hope you get better.
You have to defeat that cancer my love 💕
Does the contrast hurt?
Not at all..just have to hold very still and hold your breath when you are instructed by the machine.
@@DaniB19819 hope youre all good
basically good informative video. As a radiation worker ( retired) it’s great to see information that’s accurate , and understandable. I’m not so sure about the ability of the patient to ask a medical practitioner for a particular imaging modality.
they always warn you that it will feel like you are peeing yourself & it is so funny when it really does
contrast dye
Many thanks for a very informative clip about the differences between MRI PET Scan.
Great general information! Thank you!
This has been most informative. Thanks
i remember getting a mri scan for severe synovial hyperthropy complication of RA, i remember it being so disorienting and loud even tho i wasnt inside the machine fully
Again another good video with clear explanation of each diagnostic imaging machines pro/con, we’ll done
I have serious brain injury and frontal lobe damage would pet scan help me to see more of where my brain is damaged ???
Have you ever worked with those hybrid PET/MRI machines that combine both? heard some things about those being installed in some hospitals in Ontario.
Ontario, California?

Bahar 👍👍👍
Mri olso use a non manetic contrast liquid
Wooow, i don`t know it
PET is an antimatter scanner.
Hey i have a question:
Is it dangerous to enter the mri machine if i have claustrophobia?
Because i have that phobia
And my 2nd question:
Does ct scan have loud noices or can you make a video about the sounds around the ct/PET scan room
3rd question:
How to throughout an mri
No
Yes if youre claustrauphobic dont do it they actually ask i didnt think i was until i got an mri and then i realised nope. Plus they strap you down so you dont move and bugger up the imaging.
It's not objectively dangerous, but I can think of few things more triggering to a claustrophobic, short of spelunking in a dark cave, then an MRI. It is a VERY confined space and you are in it for a long time. The danger lies in a subjective response to the imaging modality; not any real danger. But fear can be a mother.
They give you an alarm trigger to hold in your hand in case you want out,
There are also open mri but whit less resolution

Damn bro I'm sorry about the cancer.
Tbh I'd rather go for a MRI. MRIs are safer because they don't use radiation which CAUSES certain types of cancer
Thank you so much ! I start my chemo and radiation treatment on February 20th..I had a pet & cat scan and they STILL want me to have an MRI..I'm scheduled for the 29th but I am going to have to reschedule because I will be in treatment . I really want the MRI because I am convinced that I have other issues going on besides the cancer.
@DaniB19819 I get where you're coming from bro I had an MRI on my right knee back in mid December because we thought I tore my ACL and would have to have surgery. I'm gonna be honest too, being in that MRI was probably the best catnap I ever took.
@@DaniB19819 Mm. What's chemo like? I've never had it before.
@titanusvoidearthghidorah8039 I'm not sure , haven't started yet , I start next week and I'm quite nervous. I have to sort of " wear" this pack ..it is hooked right onto me . I had to have a sort of port put under my skin on my upper right chest right under the clavicle and that will be where the chemo is attached. This will alleviate me having to get a needle prick each and every time I go for treatment, so it's a major plus to have .
