    Duved talks about the Hot Club rhythm guitar style used by Django Reinhardt in the 1930s
    Israeli guitarist Duved Dunayevsky is one of the most authentic-sounding musicians in today's Hot Jazz scene. He focuses on Swing music, in the 1930s style of Django Reinhardt and Eddie Lang. In 2015, he won a "Talent and Competence" Visa from the French government and moved to Paris where he formed Duved‘s Hot Five.

    When he actually kicked in the rhythm it really sounded like those early Django recordings... really accurate.

    finally someone who shares my view on la pompe! todays most manouche players, even the great ones, lack the swing that you showed in this lesson.

      Rhythm got more than most think. It’s value and quality is underestimated very easily especially by starters in this genre.

    "Param" accurate definition of la Pompe

  • @nemedie82
    @nemedie82 5 лет назад +1

    He's telling to stroke only the lower strings, sometimes it's almost like a power chord, that's fine, but I saw others gypsy jazz players and they sais that every strokes touch all the six strings, of course, to achieve the sound of "la pompe" you have to be careful with the strumming...so? Who's right? Maybe both of them? 😃 just curious about it

    • @PabloCardonaMusic
      @PabloCardonaMusic 5 лет назад +1

      You play the 6 strings, but you emphasize the low 4 strings, for the Harmony, the other 2 are to give it more of a "Chsss" like an accent

    • @LoewenRanger
      @LoewenRanger 5 лет назад +2

      He's talking about primarily Django accompaniment and not as much about the rhythm player's accompaniment. He's talking about stuff that Django does in particular while playing rhythm with the rest of the band.

      Ephasize low strings, so you don´t go to the frequencies of the soloist, but I guess you should be able to play both ways and choose a specific way for every tune.

      This is His favourite pompe, but as He mentioned there are lots of different versions and you have to FEEL which can be the best for helping the soloist
