Is there anything else that I can use to tie up the heart?

You can absolutely use rubber bands, you just wont get that white outline!

Is the heart on the back of the shirt too?

Will you say which dyes you use? Tulip brand is absolutely terrible, I spent hours doing exactly what you said to do with artificial sinew, on multiple shirts for a party, and I’m pretty sure the dye is the problem

My shirts are 90 percent cotton. Will it dye ok enough? Thank you

I use anywhere between 100% down to 60%. The lower the cotton percentage, the less vibrant the color. So your 90% shirts should be fine . I hope this helps!

Yes it will still come out nice! A good way to think of it is that it will be 10% less vibrant as 100% cotton would be! You may not notice a difference:)

Bad idea. 100% cotton always. Polyester will refuse the dye. Bad idea.
