Just got mine today. I sanded down the handle a bit and applied some Linseed oil. I also applied Linseed oil to the sheath and stuffed the knife in. It already fits better. As for the belt loot, yeah kind of small but well made. I took a #3 Nite Ize S biner attached one side to the belt loop on the sheath, and the other side to a belt loop on my pants. Works great, and does not cost much. Knife came extremely sharp. A good little knife.
I just purchased the BPS BS2FTS. Mine came slathered in oil, scalpel sharp, very sharp 90 degree spine, full tang, lanyard hole, and (in my opinion) a superior sheath. The blade is 4.5 inches with overall length of 9" and comes with walnut handles, which are also pretty rough. I sanded it down and finished it. Those handles came out beautifully. I think you'd like the BS2FTS as the belt loop ( 2.5") easily fits my old ALICE web gear which is just a little over 2.25 inches. If you don't own a Mora Garberg Carbon, I can't tell you how fantastic it is. Unfortunately, it comes with a plastic sheath. Luckily, BPS does sell a leather sheath (Amazon) that will fit the Garberg. Okay, done rambling. Hope you have an excellent day, sir.
Nice! I still haven't done the handle on mine. It's real close to my Mora Basic. I do need a larger more robust one. Thanks for checking the video out!!!
Update: Okay, I've had my BS1FTS knife for about two weeks now, and its not a bad little knife, except. First time I used it to cut a chicken leg off of a chicken thigh, the edge rolled. Not a huge problem, I have a Ken Onion Work Sharp. I think it was just over sharpened. Second, sheath was a bit tight, so I treated it with Boiled Linseed Oil, now the knife fits perfect. Lastly, I took the handle scales off yesterday, the 14th, you will need a metric Allan wrench. And I found Rust under the handle scales. I took a sanding sponge, and cleaned that up. So if you have any of the BPS knives, please, take the handle scales off, and check for rust.
I've seen mixed reviews on these, but have no experience with them myself. You can get a D-ring dangler to put through that loop to drop it down a little more and give you a bigger belt loop, assuming you keep it. A Mora for camp/bushcrafting is tough to beat. I put them in my car kits. Try not to set your house on fire, Jack! Stay well.
It's definitely not a Mora. But being full tang, wooden handle and the leather sheath it just gives off a different vibe. Evidently BPS sells leather sheaths separately and are supposed to fit Moras. I saw a dangler one that was listed as (BPS leather sheath for Mora Garburg). Lol, that surprised me when sparks flew!! I really didn't expect it to work.
That is a pretty good idea knife. Like the longer blade. You should be able to refine the tip. A real leather sheath is nice. Will be interesting to see it after some use. Thanks for sharing this. Do they make a larger version of the knife? Enjoyed seeing this.
Yea they make larger ones. This is the smallest full tang knife. They also have one that's basically the same size but a partial tang like the Moras. I carried around the house yesterday and it's super light. All I did with was cut up an onion. 😆
If you haven't already, apply some Boiled Linseed oil to the sheath, inside and out, then put the knife in, and let it dry for about a week. Now your sheath will fit better, and the leather will be water proofed.
@@factorsofjack Yeah, I just ordered one for myself. I have a project I need to do. I may just make a new leather sheath. Looks like a great little knife.
no 90° spine? great, as it should be. it is a cutting tool that needs to be comfortable with or without gloves. if you'd going to carry a ferro tod, take a simple lightweight carbide striker with your ferro rod, works better, minimal weight and space. but thats just me.
Mine is nearly sharp enough on the spine to strike a spark with a ferro rod. I just went and tried it. 10 tries and it threw maybe 3 very small single sparks. So while it's close to 90° its still comfortable. It would only take a few strokes with a file to make it sharp enough for striking. I agree with you that I'd prefer comfort over being able to use to strike a ferro rod. I carry a ferro rod and striker in my hiking pack anyways. Thanks for checking the video out!!!
I really haven't carried and used this all that much. The couple times I have (day hikes) I found that it rides good. It's not huge so I had no issues with jabbing my side or anything when bending over. Also the loop is only 5/8" wide and flexible enough to move with your movements.

Great!! I need to work on mine like that. Good idea on the S biner so it's kinda like a dangler.
A pretty cool little fixed blade. Can't really go wrong for 20 bucks. Great video Jack 👍
Nope, not bad. A decent alternative to the Mora Basic if you didnt want the plastic handle and sheath.
Thanks for filming
Thanks for 👀 🍻

Nice collections. Budget friendly , like mine.
Thanks for checking the video out!!!
I love bushcraft knives
Im just getting into them.. Its not bad for 20 bucks. Being full tang, wood handle and leather sheath it one gives off a different vibe from the Mora.
Big fan of bps knives well made and priced right. Just got the bushcraft b1. Same as the Bushlore. Very nice
I'll have to check that one out. I've thought about getting the Bushlore. Thanks for checking the video out!!!
@@factorsofjack I did a review if you want to see it.
It's on my Amazon wish list and right now it's 26.95! Great video, I subscribed.
@@factorsofjack thanks for sub. Nice price too.

There's also exact like mora companion model, but real wood and full tang.
It's the full tang that sells them to me.

@@longrider42 I have intentions of modifying it. Now that I've done a couple Opinels I may get around and do it soon.
ty for posting !

Mora is dead for me now when I got access to BPS Knives!
Agree, BPS definitely make some good knives. A friend of mine has a few and they are nice.
Nice knife !
Not bad for the money.

I'd make a dangler out of that sheath , nice blade
BPS actually sell sheaths separately and have a dangler sheath. I think it's on the next size up model. They also promote them to work with Moras.
not for me, it is an edc knife for me and prefer the high carry due to this.
