I think once we get access to Cascade Point on Wendigo that could be a very high dps options paired with Cloudstrike, even if it has terrible ammo economy

I want to see merciless tested out with its new rework. It’s very powerful. Kill an add to proc the damage buff while you have it ramped up all the way, and DUMP. It’s been very effective for me.
I have been using merciless since the rework, its fun to just dump ammo into ads and stuff and then as a plus it deals decent damage, and hell if you do activate kill clip it's even better

Looks like variables for the linear fusion rifle equation might be slightly wrong. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the "7" looks like the number of shots in the mag while "9.55" appears to be the time to empty those 7 shots plus reload time. If you are running taipan with a mag perk (you should be) this should allow you to shoot off 8 shots before needing to reload due to 6 in the mag plus triple tap adding 2 extra. 9.55 secs does seem to be the correct time it takes to shoot those 8 shots plus reload, which is kind of strange though. I'm not sure how much difference it makes but I would assume it would make quite a bit considering you are missing out on 12.5% of your damage. Also, I know its hard to calculate for veist stinger since its random if and when you get the reload, but it would have been nice if you would have mentioned it since getting a veist stinger proc will bump those dps numbers for firing line LFRs even more depending on how deep in the map the perk activates. Also also, its worth noting that unless you are storing special ammo near you are running out of cloudstrike ammo at about 22 secs if the cloudstrike rotation is indeed 5.5 secs. You had 27 shots in reserves so that is 4 rotations. This means that your cloudstrike DPS combo after 22 sec should drop dramatically, however your DPS line keeps increasing linearly as if you have infinite ammo. So if you wanted an accurate number of how much more DPS cloudstrike is T should be set to 22 not 30. This will likely mean that 30% is also much to high. I'm curious to see the numbers of how good cloudstrike is when taking all of the above into account. As it seems like it should be much closer than what is shown in your video.
Also which linear was he using? Cause cataclysmic with bait will hit harder, especially with witherhoard taking care of the reload, completely negating any downtime spent reloading
Since we saw izzy+rocket dps in the comparison we can surmise that you'd be correct, while both sniper+rocket combos deal more dps, their damage curves should be similar-ish since they eat through ammo quickly giving us a lower total damage number
Any other suggestions for a RL? I have a Hothead, but its roll is nothing helpful for boss damage: Threat Detector/Adrenaline Junkie. Fine for add clear, but on the off chance I somehow get into a raid, probably using Taipan. My aim is pretty shit on snipers in general. I do have an auto-loading/explosive light Palmyra, but idk if the archetypes are different
Avoid precision frames like palmyra as they do less dmg now (roughly 20% less than other frames iirc). For arc I don't think there is a good substitute , but for solar you can use hezen's , stasis go for bump in the night . Void and arc don't have easily obtainable sources rn I don't think.

It doesn't seem to count font which makes it nice. It's not super hard to get font on void either, tho, and I don't know how much that would effect the chart since most people straight up ignore it on Taipan

Nope. They are pretty even at base, but the best reeds (firing line+triple tap) is way better for boss dps then any of the perks fire and forget has. Fire and forget is a good weapon for anyone that doesn't have a good reeds, so that they have access to a stasis linear, but other then that it is mediocre sadly.
they're pretty on line with each other, but the kicker is that fire and forget can proc veist stinger on each projectile fired from the gun, so it had a 3x better chance of activating veist stinger than normal linears, which could end up making it better.

I didn't really play last season and I've never been one to actually test out different sources of dps, but I feel like in reaper that was the king (besides reeds for the ease of font of might). Izzy or cloud + al rocket has always been king ever since the departure of particle decon. It has just been overshadowed by the consistency , ammo economy and ease of use of linears. Now that div requires more effort to reach that 30% debuff . Is unsurprising that we're going back to the "anime dps" strats for optimized baking. With lucent finisher being in the picture as well i would imagine more will use the better burst sniper + rl al swap strats over linears in high level(ie master raid level) content. But for newer or more casual players , just keep using linears , storm nade titans or starfire lock. As tbh rn the rockets are harder to get than just like a crafted taipan or cata .
this might be true, but the reason linears are so dominant is because of the one of the reasons Anarchy was so strong. Reserve size. Overall by the end of a damage phase you usually expend all your ammo with something like izzy rocket or cloudstrike rocket and linears its very easy to come out with a decent reserve size that can make it way better for ammo economy, getting to damage phases faster and less down time making heavy with aeons or rng. so i mean, imma stick to having ammo after a damage phase rather than expending all of it it one for 30% more damage. and especially using special ammo finisher and sacrificing super is a bit gnarly imo.
The Season of the plunder quest line(which is now legacy) is bugged. When you reach the first or any pirate hunt step, it says that he pirate hunt is launchable from the helm, yet there is no node found in the helm, I’ve abandoned the quests, restarted the game, and switched characters, but whenever I pick up the quest again and track it, it tells me to launch pirate hunt from the helm but there is no node for it. I find it annoying because I took a break last season(only played the first 2 weeks)to deal with irl stuff, and when I came back to play this new season, I wanted to progress my plunder vender and story as well to get patterns, but I can’t make big progress because the quest node isn’t appearing and is bugged. For reference its step 12 or 13, the first pirate hunt mission.

Unfortunately for you Cataclysmic w/ Font is still one of the best damage weapons in the game, beating out every other weapon except Stormchaser which does marginally better DPS. Cataclysmic without Font is basically on par with Taipan if not better.
Now what if I said that linears are still the better option to use for the vast majority of players. 1. Ease of use, simply shoot the boss and you are good to go. 2. They deal only slightly less damage than cloudstrike rocket combo. 3. Ammo economy; with something like 4th times the charm on cataclysmic, you get ~40 shots. 4. You get the option to run 2 other weapons as well as an exotic. Cloudstrike rocket combo will only be better for the small percentage of players that are going to one phase bosses, I really recommend anything other than linears for the majority of players for these reasons.
For stationary bosses its easy, but for the ones who move around like a dancer, its awful to land a shot. Thank lord we can switch between anarchy and cloudstrike.
Yeah except u can pair a linear with witherhoard with seasonal weakened debuff, which would surely close that gap and not care about size of boss (assuming u don't Jim ur witherhoard shot). I would be curious to see the numbers
Suddenly I’m wishing I had chosen the Sniper seasonal mod to I can use Cloudstrike on legend sector bosses that wind up being the oversized shanks, hydras, or ogres.
Question, as we know for great burst damage explosive light in hothead is great, but what if we combine cloudstrike with lasting impresion + auto-loading?
EL is only marginally better when comparing the dmg with wolfpacks active. as EL does not buff wolfpacks. Overall the damage will be roghly 3% less than EL , but will not require orb pickups . A caveat to this is however , EL's orb pickups is actually an upside for some builds , like non warlock void builds. As by just having a EL weapon equipped , you gain the ability of getting orbs for devour even while your super is full . Whereas you would have to otherwise sacrifice FoM slots to run HeF + charged mod on orb pickup or say star eater scales to do the same thing.
I shoot 12 out of my Predeth, then 10 out of cloud, starting with a rocket with auto, which I shoot between every swap (3 rockets total). It's pretty good dps, overall dmg isn't the best, so probably not my day one pick. But it's pretty good at everything else.
I finally get a Cloudstrike catalyst added to game and it just won't drop.The lightning bolt is about flinch and knock back causing targets to miss the rest of the damage and not sheer size for chance to hit.
What about a warlock with Taipan (Firing Line), witherhoard, and fusion nades (Starfire)? That’s the combo I use for MAX dps with pretty quick swaps and easily hit 4 million on war priest
How does it fair against, the high energy fire, font of might, volatile, old god, lumina stack on taipan void warlock which hits 189,565 per shot on oryx, also if you have the enhanced triple tap, and you get the 15 additional rounds, for an overall 5.2 million per phase on normal oryx? High energy fire, old god, lumina, font of might (solar warlock) cataclysmic adept big ones which hits 188,665 per shot, plus the 5 additional shots, or 179,255 per shot without adept big ones but enhanced triple tap, so you get 8 additional shots.

How would you use the last shot in one mag to activate triple tap in the next? I keep trying after I fire 9 shots but I cant get it to work.
Still substantially weaker. Taipan with frenzy/firing line and witherhoard with weak and clear out damages this combo +easier to use

For stationary bosses its easy, but for the ones who move around like a dancer, its awful to land a shot. Thank lord we can switch between anarchy and cloudstrike.
Yeah except u can pair a linear with witherhoard with seasonal weakened debuff, which would surely close that gap and not care about size of boss (assuming u don't Jim ur witherhoard shot). I would be curious to see the numbers
And of course ur linear can roll with firing line plus triple tap and veist stinger in the case of taipan. can be crafted too
They made it do more damage with div now too. Like the the lighting will hit div again

Question, as we know for great burst damage explosive light in hothead is great, but what if we combine cloudstrike with lasting impresion + auto-loading?
EL is only marginally better when comparing the dmg with wolfpacks active. as EL does not buff wolfpacks. Overall the damage will be roghly 3% less than EL , but will not require orb pickups . A caveat to this is however , EL's orb pickups is actually an upside for some builds , like non warlock void builds. As by just having a EL weapon equipped , you gain the ability of getting orbs for devour even while your super is full . Whereas you would have to otherwise sacrifice FoM slots to run HeF + charged mod on orb pickup or say star eater scales to do the same thing.
Pair this with mask of baskris arc buff and you will be hitting even harder just run arc rocket/Wendigo when it comes out.
No need imo just stick with SES+BB or GS super that should just be way more by a mile with the combo
I shoot 12 out of my Predeth, then 10 out of cloud, starting with a rocket with auto, which I shoot between every swap (3 rockets total). It's pretty good dps, overall dmg isn't the best, so probably not my day one pick. But it's pretty good at everything else.

I finally get a Cloudstrike catalyst added to game and it just won't drop.The lightning bolt is about flinch and knock back causing targets to miss the rest of the damage and not sheer size for chance to hit.
can you please test reeds vs the new stasis linear with focused fury please. i tested it but you are way better at this than me.

What about a warlock with Taipan (Firing Line), witherhoard, and fusion nades (Starfire)? That’s the combo I use for MAX dps with pretty quick swaps and easily hit 4 million on war priest
How does it fair against, the high energy fire, font of might, volatile, old god, lumina stack on taipan void warlock which hits 189,565 per shot on oryx, also if you have the enhanced triple tap, and you get the 15 additional rounds, for an overall 5.2 million per phase on normal oryx? High energy fire, old god, lumina, font of might (solar warlock) cataclysmic adept big ones which hits 188,665 per shot, plus the 5 additional shots, or 179,255 per shot without adept big ones but enhanced triple tap, so you get 8 additional shots.
you can only have 1 buff, 1 debuff and font of might outside of the perks and mods on your weapon
