My husband and I both have long hair and today he helped me realize that we both have 2B wavy/curly (not sure which yet!) Hair. We've never cared for our hair, but he is so excited to get started and I'm tired of my hair feeling dry all the time so I'm going to give it a go and see how I like it too! This video was so educational and I'm glad I found it since we are just now starting!
I also started my curly girl journey (on 2b hair) with co washing and lots of Shea Moisture products and curl creams with not so great results. I can totally relate to everything to all the issues you covered! I'm excited to try the products and methods you mentioned.
ahhh!! your channel is incredible and so useful, thank you :) ive always had nice wavy hair but ive never known how to make it stay or encourage it, and i found out about the curly girl method but there just isnt enough information about adjusting it for wavy hair- but thank god for you!! :) im so exciteeed
I just found your channel, and subscribed. Your hair texture and wave pattern is very similar to mine. I also ‘break the rules’ but I comb my hair when dry before shampooing. I’m very gentle, and have found, over time, my hair is in better condition so doesn’t get as tangled, day-to-day. I also wear it pulled back and up, which protects it a lot. Thank you. I’m going to have a look at other videos you’ve made.
I’m so glad I found you!!! 🙌🏻 I have wavy hair and I’m on a journey to try and get my hair healthier. I have bleached it for many years and after a hysterectomy it decided that it was wavy! So now I’m trying to figure out how to do my hair while it’s in this transition period. I already cut off about 5 inches and I was almost about to give up and re-wash it and flat iron it when your video popped up. Your hair is the same color as mine and it’s so beautiful!!! I know I can do this!!!!
Hello! I’m so happy to find your channel, I have wavy hair and I am having such a hard time adjusting. Could you do a video on how you keep your waves while you sleep? I wake up and my hair is almost straight.):
The Maui moisture has olefin sulfonate my favorite non sulfate surfactant. It’s made from coconuts too! I use a product with this ingredient at least once a week. And use a Shea moisture one or Cowash. I was my hair about twice a week or so. 💕 Your voice is so soothing! And you made me want to start documenting my wavy hair journey on RUclips because there isn’t much wavies here as much as curlies!💕
Tima the pink one saved my hair after I bleached the heck out of it, also their main ingredient is aloe Vera which my hair loooovves! Used to use lush products but Maui moisture is my holy grail now!
So useful, I wish yours was one of the earliest videos I watched because stupidly I didn’t realise what works for curly girls doesn’t always work for wavy girls. I’m really struggling with frizz and getting the waves to hold.
Thank you...video helped alot. I barely used conditioner before and then last year was using it after every wash and noticed my curls getting flat. I'm going ti cut back.
Would love to hear more about pH! My hair at the back is a very tight s shape but around the crown the waves are more loose so it's difficult to find a balance between products that moisturise the tighter waves well without weighing down the looser ones. I'm having good luck with UK brand Boucleme though. By the way I also dry brush and then leave my hair in a plait for a short while to calm down the frizz before my showers.
Also I really love what you said in your last video about your hair not looking wavy unless there is product in there. This is so true to my personal experience.
Love this video! My hair is almost identical to yours and the tangle situation is REAL! I occasionally dry brush and always felt guilty about it, so thank you for giving me "permission!"
I’d love to see the ph of products. I have type 2 hair and starting my wavy girl method this week but my kids have type 3 with high porosity while my husband is type 4. THERES a lot of textures that require many different products so I’m trying to limit products where I can which will take time but this is so interesting!
The bottom layers of my hair hold tight waves, almost curls really well but my top layers never hold the wave very well and it's really loose. Does anyone have any tips?
⭐Good point about wavy having/needing bigger clumps. But the most important *product* factor isn't curl pattern, it's texture. Fine hair vs Course hair is very different. My hair looks just like yours, but it med/course. I need very heavy conditioner, and lots of it. Course hair also doesn't like much protein. 😉
Hi Alina, I'm currently binge watching your videos 😂 thanks for your great content. Please could you tell me if you deep condition after clarifying and if so what products you recommend? Thanks! B
So lovely to hear that you enjoy them 💗 yes, I always deep condition after clarifying my hair. But I recently started deep conditioning hair a bit more often, like twice a month but for a shorter period of time. My next video will have information on reasoning. As for deep conditioners - I like As I am hydration elastation, Only curls deep conditioning mask and Kerotin freshening mask. Last two a bit pricy, but so worth it ❤️
Thank you Alina!! Your hair is stunning! Never cut it ;) on the Maui moisture shampoo...can that be any one of those? I use the pink bottle. Thank you for everything
I have wavy hair and just started this process this week!!! I'm so happy to find your channel, yay!!! P. S you voice is very relaxing 😊are you from SA? Or Belgium? Orrrr neither 🤣😊
I’m almost 100% positive that my hair is infact wavy and I’m not caring for it properly which makes it frizzy and bushy and straight. I’ve heard that the full on curly girl method makes wavy hair too heavy so is there curtain shampoos and products for wavy hair only? Also could you possibly do a video on transitioning into getting your natural wavy hair to form because I want to try this method but I don’t know where to start
Give a try to the bowl method that I filmed. You will also see there products that created specifically for wavy hair : Merwave. They are currently available in the UK only unfortunately.
@Swavy Blonde Thank you, I’ve just discovered your channel. My hair looks much shorter following this method. How did you get your hair to grow so long? How often do you cut it? Do you have any layers in the ends? Thank you.
What a joy finding you! I have the exact same hair as you, fine, thick and wavy long. Can you plz tell me about protein , when my hair gets too over moisturized my hair needs protein . But it's hard to balance this
I need your advice. I've 2b 2c hair and it's still in the transitioning phase i figured out a month ago that I've waves bt i like to highlight my hair so what do u think? So should i go for it?
I tried to get hold of this shampoo in the UK - no luck. But I also still would like to have a sulphate shampoo just to be able to press that reset button once in a while.
I didn’t know the wavy girl method was a real thing! I almost made my own wavy girl method on my own. I tried (one time) not dry brushing. It was soooo hard on my hair. My brush is way more than gentle. And I have long hair & always had hair that grows really fast. I have a theory that not brushing your hair can cause the hair to grow slower bc the scalp isn’t ever stimulated. I hope anyone not dry brushing is using a scalp scrubber! I also love the Maui shampoo, NYM naturals for more moisturizing days. The as I am I only use when I HAVE to wash my hair bc I was so sweaty but my hair isn’t dirty. I prefer clenditioner for cowashing bc it leaves my hair not feeling so weighed down.
Yes absolutely! Wavy girl method was created by the admin of Facebook group - Wavy Girl Method. There you can find much more information about it, hope that helps. But in general, do what your hair likes!
Really? A lot of people cannot guess that as it is mixed. My mother tongue is Russian but I was born and raised in Lithuania. So I know Lithuanian as well as Russian. Also live in Britain now for more than 7 years so it is truly a mixture of many languages 😀 did you guess right?
@@SwavyBlonde I was thinking of Russian or maybe bulgarian as I've know people from there. Im mixed too and most think in Russian but I'm actually German/Swedish and grew up around arabs, somalians, end english speakers so my accent is wierded out
Finally someone with my hair texture and density! I’m so glad I found your channel!
Hope this video helps ❤️

Tigi bead head curls rock amplifier hair cream is great for wavy hair. Not sure if it contains silicon though but I love it!
It does, I tried it and it weighed my waves down and made it straight 🤷🏼♀️

Mine too!!😪😪
i would suggest getting a layered haircut

Yes I agree, texture is more important. Mine is fine and it is nightmare 🙈 so many tangles
@@SwavyBlonde , jealous though of how much more shine fine hair has. Wanna trade my volume, for your shine?😜
Oh dear, I have volume! I have tons of hair so yes, let’s trade I want my hair to keep its shape for longer as fine hair usually stretched out quicker

Thank you
