This documentary proved prophetic. He was forced to retire for driving a car without a license. Sumo are to adhere to strict social standards. Part of their ranking is based on their character as a person.
When his coach was talking to him about being a respectful wrestler- he was worried about him.

I fully understand where his coach is coming from. The coach was not only drawing from his own experiences but also from what it takes to make it to Yokozuna. Grace is one of the ingredients.

What’s crazy is that seeing this documentary I immediately thought “he won’t make it.” He he made it to the top divisions proving me very wrong. I hated to see him go out like that. It says a lot about the strict principles upon which they are expected to adhere…driving a car without a license is enough to get you forced out.

Sumo wrestlers are not allowed to drive a car.
Osuunarashi was driving and got involved in an accident.
This was after an injury had dropped him out of the top division. It is unclear if he could have healed up and returned to the top division.

He's been up in the highest division (Makuuchi), but has fallen recently due to injuries and his somewhat limited fighting style. He is now in danger of being demoted out of the second division (Juryo), after posting a losing record in September. This would mean the loss of his salary and other privileges.
