Sounds amazing! Thinking of getting the AWE Track exhaust for my C63! I’m planning to keep the stock downpipes with a secondary cat delete done. Wonder if this setup will help the sound?
It would sound really good I would assume, this car in the video is a full straight piped exhaust system. I’d say yours would sound similar but not as loud and rowdy like the C63s in the video.
had this car for about 3 years and then gave it away.... worst decision ever. But the weird thing about this car was the fact that sound was the best factor, but also the worst factor...... its such an intoxicating and addicting sound but it goes mute and quiet after 5500 rpm ish even with catless downpipes. Hope they find a workaround with the turbos to keep it loud as it reached 7000rpm
@@Bozs4life switch path is you can use a remote control or own car control to open and close the valve to increase or decrease the sound. Track is just one setting, straight pipe all the way and all the time.
@@allenlee2124 if I recall it had an electric flap on the “H” pipe just after the downpipes. You can actually see it in the front of the exhaust at the very begin of the video. If I’m not mistaken the flap would open and close to simulate a “true-dual” exhaust system, sounded more raw and choppy with the valve closed but I don’t remember it making it any quieter. I hope this helps clarify Allen 👍
Could I ask if your recording with your phone or a high quality mic and camera cause this sounds waaaay too sick.I know that cameras,no matter the quality of the mic don’t give 100% sound justice but I could go for this set up on my c63.I just wanna know if it’s worth buying those MBh downpipes amd awe exhaust. Also if there are specifics to the names of the exhaust and downpipe please let me know♥️Hope you reply.Thank you.
Thank you for the kind words my friend, really appreciate the support. And to answer your questions: - I am using a Panasonic camera with the kit lens and the mic that I am using is a rode micro compact. I’m not completely satisfied with the mic however, it’s a good starter but it’s not the best. - As far as the setup on this particular C63, it has MBH catless downpipes with a full 3” AWE tuning straight piped exhaust. If you’re interested in the install process, I have another video that goes more in-depth on the install of downpipes on a C63 so be sure to check that out on my channel. - As far as it being worth it, the downpipes are more for performance and not really for sound though they do in my opinion enhance the cool sounding spool of the turbos. MBH is also a little pricey and often have wait times as some components are made to order, not to mention the labor to install them plus the tune to make the most out of the downpipes. So if you just want a better sounding AMG, I’d skip the downpipes, but if you want some more power the downpipes are a must. The AWE tuning exhaust system is really great, it brings out the German muscle in these newer C63s which is worth it, so I would recommend. Sorry for the long response but I hope it helps and if you need me to clarify anything just let me know.
@@Bozs4life Thanks for this, car sounds amazing. I’ve been watching your videos to decide what to do with my 2019 C63S Cabriolet. I miss the sound of my previous earlier model! I have accepted I’ll need to void my warranty to get the new car sounding good. Is it not essential to do downpipes too for sound? (To removed the OPF?) It seems you are saying that the awe catback exhaust would be enough to get this sound? But everyone seems to say it’s the OPF that’s the issue...
@@1017-j7d I haven’t had the pleasure of hearing either of those exhaust systems in person. If you have the wallet, akrapovic exhausts are truly a work of art and sound amazing, I’m not familiar with the other one you listed. I honestly would go with the AWE tuning, seems like good quality and sounds amazing.
@@jj2950 Thanks for the feedback brotha, in my opinion installing downpipes for the sole purpose of the sound defeats the purpose of installing downpipes. If your main desire is a better sounding AMG, then start off with the catback exhaust like in the video. I would then work up to downpipes as the cats will of course restrict the flow of the exhaust and in turn muffle the exhaust slightly. I hope this helps! Also I am not familiar with the OPF, could you maybe elaborate on what it is/does?
Sounds like a super car now! I have a 2018 c63s and I’m thinking about tuning and down pipes and a Rentec exhaust open value unit for now and made some other changes
It really does sound amazing, the rentec exhausts are great as well, especially for a daily as it is a bit more subdued. I definitely recommend getting some downpipes and a good supporting tune, great power gains for sure. If you are interested I have another video on my channel of a downpipe install on a 2020 C63s.
This was a clients car, we installed downpipes and lowering springs on it but I believe a local exhaust shop fitted the exhaust up for him, now sure which shop though. Glad you enjoyed the tunes as well lol
@@Jack-ed7jb what's not close? I have a pre-facelift C63s with performance exhaust and it sounds exactly the same as this facelift with all the ridiculous mods. Facelift unmodified is heavily suppressed due to EU regulations. In other words, you have to do all kinds of ridiculous mods, as per the video, just to make them sound like an unmodified pre-facelift. Hence the reason why the facelift C63 is a bag of sh1te.
It really does sound great, and from the well insulated cabin and the help of the 9 speed trans there is hardly any drone or noise when you’re cruising. However, your neighbors will hate you every time you cold start it lol. Hope you enjoyed the video!
I searched c63s exhaust videos and got your vid. Sound is really awesome!! Is straight pipe void warranty? Because I want to make my car get straight piped as well but I am so considering if it voids warranty. Thanks man!
Glad you found the video helpful and enjoyed it! I would guess that it would void the warranty, however I’m not fully certain and I would assume most dealers won’t make too much of a fuss about it. If you get the car straight piped I would buy a bolt on exhaust as opposed to taking it to a shop and having them chop up the original exhaust and weld it up, that way you can always have the original to fall back on. Hope that helps.

Is this a “switch path” version of AWE or Track?
Honestly it’s been so long, I’m not sure if I remember. What are the differences between the two of you don’t mind me asking?
