These would sound sooooo much better with the exhaust flap mod which keeps the exhaust valve open 100%. Sitting reving the car in any mode with the exhaust button pushed only opens the valve 1/4 way....do a visual to see for yourself. Renntech and others made a module to keep them open....sounds oh so nice! Nice job on the install - that's a serious amount of work!
Hey just wondering, near the end when you backed the car out was the A/C on and a electronic humming sound coming from front of car? Been hearing it on my c63. Nice clean install!
Appreciate the kind words bud, I made this video a while ago so I can’t really remember if I had the AC on honestly. I would assume so as it looked like a pretty hot day, the fans on most mercs can get pretty loud when they’re on so it’s safe to assume that’s what you’re hearing. You can try toggling your AC on and off and listen for the fans to turn on, the fan comes on whenever the AC is commanded on. Hope this helps.
I have a 18 c63 with catless down pipe installed but the engine light has been up for a long time, is there any way to get rid of the engine light? Thanks
Have you scanned the car for codes? If so what codes were given? Your engine light is on more than likely because of the catalytic converter delete with the downpipes. The DME is constantly monitoring the O2 sensor readings and when it sees a lack of catalytic converter activity it throws a P0420 if I recall correctly. If that’s the case the way to remedy this is with a tune, a tune will make the DME “overlook” the catalytic converter inefficiency. I am of course oversimplifying that greatly, get a proper tune and you’ll find the car will run much better and you won’t have a check engine light anymore.
Anthony Giordano Thanks for the kind words my friend. The downpipes, which were supplied by us go for $1,400; there are other options out there such as MBH (which were installed on the black 2020 C63s in the video) that are slightly more expensive and we found had a few fitment issues. Labor of course varies from shop to shop but would come out to $1,000 for 8hrs of the install time. To finish it off would be a tune which comes out to $1,600. However, for 2020 Mercedes introduced new difficulties with tuning by installing CPC modules which limit torque output at certain gears, along with limiting top speeds to 160mph and sending the car into limp mode along with other inconveniences. We recently developed a way around this and though it isn’t necessary to tune your CPC module, you will truly see the best results by having it tuned out. Apologies for the long response, if you have any other questions don’t hesitate to ask bud.
Nice man, I think the new A35s are pretty neat, how are you enjoying yours so far? As for the JB4 removing the check engine light, I have little experience with JB4 only on BMWs so I can’t really give you a confident answer. You would have to reach out to customer support at JB4 or whoever is uploading/creating your tune. I’m very certain that most tunes regardless of who is providing it, take car of cat inefficiency codes and what not. Hope that helps man!
@@Bozs4life love it. Even though it’s considered a baby amg it drives like a small rocket lol. Which is perfectly fine with me. I’ve asked around and a jb4 should remove the check engine light. Ii just bought that same kit from zac. intake + catless downpipes. tell me something please did you have to load a tune? When starting the engine, did the check engine light come on?
We did tune the car after the downpipe install, so there was no check engine light, in your case I would highly recommend getting the car tuned by a reputable shop. This way you can get the most out of the downpipes, power wise. You will also most likely get a check engine light for “catalytic converter inefficiency” codes as you no longer have cats if you choose not to tune the car.
I’ve had experience with ZAC Motorsport and they seem pretty good but I see no performance issues with the stock intake setup. But the carbon fiber is gorgeous, here’s a link to zac motorsports: www.zacmotorsport.com/collections/w205-c63
That’s a possibility for sure, I’ve only seen it personally happen on a 2020 BMW 340i that was remotely updated via BMW and we had to reflash the tune on it. This seems to be a common thing now with most new models. I’m sure it varies from shop to shop how they handle software updates and reflashes but it is what it is I suppose.
Yea..I receive my 2021 C63 S amg coupe in about a month.....was debating to do catted or catless dps......I will probably go with Red Srar catted dps.....I didn't want to void my warranty plus I don't want my exhaust to be quite as loud as catless dps.....your car sounds pretty good though!
That's crazy, and I thought audi have difficult dp removal lol like on the s4/s5 sq5. I was starting to love the c63s catless dp sound but after seeing how difficult of a job it is, no thank you. I wonder if the GLE63S It is as difficult or that should have more space and there is no need to remove transmission?
You’re right about the increased labor for a simple downpipe install, however I must say the way these sound and the power gained is well worth it my friend. And as far as whether it would be easier on a GLE63s I’m not too sure, often times I’ve found that with SUV variants you have more room underneath the engine as they sit higher up to make room for the more robust 4matic system. But I think space is still limited from behind so trans removal might still be required, I could be wrong tho. I helped do downpipes on an W213 e63s and space was limited as well and the trans had to come out too.

they cut your down pipe in half..... both down pipe cost 6k.. if one day you want to sell your car. you going to regret why not spend 1k extra labor for it
There’s other methods of course, most people just cut the original downpipes in half and take them out that way. I’ve helped do downpipes on a AMG GTR and we just cut the two original downpipes in half and they fell right out, granted the transaxle on those is in the rear so there’s a little more room to get a sawzall in there and cut. It’s all preference I suppose.
