    For some reason I never thought to use triad pairs in the wholetone scale but it sounds so great! Thanks for the lesson

    Very interesting, thanks! I was initially confused about what exactly triad pairs meant, but I now realise that, say in the C whole tone scale, the triad pairs are c-e-g# and d-f#-a#. (At least I hope that's what they are!!)

    Love your playing! Whole tone is great sounding in jazz. Inspirational in modern classical too, Paul Jeanjean, Oliver Messian. Tension n release, Tension n release. Many thnks for a fine vid!

    You're right about it being a very distinctive sound. The first example I think of is Squib Cakes when Lenny Pickett uses a whole tone scale starting on the minor third.

    Whole tone scale is like drugs-use it, but do not overuse it LOL thank you for a great lesson, well explained and well presented.

    How about a D whole tone scale on the ii chord followed by the G whole tone on the V7? It could set up some interesting guide tone lines. Thanks!
