Not a terrible option Griff. While it was great fun to watch the Monaro missile it's way around the track, for us - street cars and where it's at! 💪🏻 Head out to a burger van in the sticks with a couple mates, sip on a cheeky stubbie, talk cars, and then cruise back home again with a little squirt here and there. No better way to spend an evening 🛻💨
Sounds like a great plan Bud, and at least you can take Neat for a bast every now and then. Nothing cheap these days mate, look at food, bloody hell, and petrol !!! I had a HX panel van, boy I loved that car, I put 1 tonner rear springs in it and tailshaft which is a slightly bigger diameter. My dog and I did THOUSANDS of kms through the outback in it, fantastic memories. Take care, stay safe mate, Seeya Rob..............Hey Neat, I hope your doing fantastic as well and keeping the old boy in check hahaha. Take care.
It doesn't matter what you do as long as you enjoy it. Personally I also enjoy tinkering and getting the most out of something. One track day every few years is good enough for me. But in between there's a dozen day trips in the car. I enjoy your vids Griff. Regards Steve
Nice car, hate to see you give up racing! Learned a lot from you. Even learned how much work it is to run a channel! Enjoy your life, I find it’s fun to cruise now instead of dragging to the track!
Chuck another door on and return her to street duties you will fall in love again!! Like the taco commercial why not both hahaha. Turbo monaro for cruises and turbo ute for the tip run!
Not to tell you what to do but id be putting an interior in the HJ and enjoying it, you could still do a couple of aprints and hillclimbs if you get the urge but that Monaro would make an excellent weekend car.
Running championship rounds are expensive. I'm assuming you would also have to make your rig class compliant . Always wondered how to get around the 6 litre rules that cams mandate on most classes. As you will have learnt from the journey race cars need to be built from the start ground up to save expensive changes as you go along. You spend your time and money chasing the weakes link otherwise. Great fun learning of course. Good decision and good luck.
One thing I've learned with myself over 30 years is when I was young I wanted wheels tubs big rubber big hp engine to go fast mod this mod that, but at 54 I'm so over all that going fast honestly, I like my car's standard, I like to cruise in a car beautifully restored to original it can be, but regardless anyway love your channel mate look forward to your new project thank you cheers.
I understand on the racing side. I loved it when in Texas. However since relocating there is no close race track. So I too have changed directions. I’m building my Turbo V8 Volvo to be more of a street car. The car scene here is huge with shows almost every weekend. We also have Cruisin the Coast annually which is the largest car show in the US.
My build is a Toyota hilux 87 glad I went this decision blow thru carb high performance 22r LCE motor what I do with it daily driving or weekends races or loading up things
Yes sir, everything has changed since the scam... and also, once you understand more about this construct we're living in, hobbies like this (and the people in them) just aren't the same anymore. Doesn't mean you can't have other hobbies to keep you handy and creative though!
I understand this decision. I can't get anything done over in the west. I've done what I can myself with health limitations, but the shops over here think you are one of the johnny come lately's who blew in with the 70s car price boom and are ready to be milked. When they realise you have been tinkering for 20 plus years and know these things inside out you get pushed to the back of the cue. Hard to get into a big project in WA when you cant get the little things done. 10 years ago it was a drive to a trimmer to get seats done, now its 12 month wait list oops forgot you were on that list when you show up with cleaned frames, foam and materials. They want the goose who drops stuff off without removing a bolt.
The only one way valve associated with the oil pump on engine is the filter, if that is not working the engine upon start up can starve of oil for up to 15 seconds.. Happened once to me years ago with a faulty rubber flap on filter which allows oil to drain from pump gears. Cheers👍
for me Griff none of it is worth it anymore, once people were out every weekend now you'd be lucky to see anyone out, i know guy's that haven't taken their cars out for 3+ years an still paying full rego on them, what the fck?! an a lot of it comes down to being harrassed by the gestapo.... doesn't help most of the guys i know also fell for the scam an tried to belittle me for not falling for it, i don't speak to any of them anymore(no loss) weighing everything up i just don't see the point anymore ....
Dont give up on your passion, yea it can change but thats not a bad thing. Its tough talking to anyone who is asleep it just all surface shit hahaha... keep up the good fight my comrade, the truth will prevail and evil will no longer have a place hear on this beautiful planet💛
@@griffsrearmountturbothemod1623 like you Jason, i've been feeling this way for a good while, i'm a street guy i loved the cruising, sitting in a car park for hours talking shit, heading to a quiet spot for a cheeky run but all of that is long gone i still love the cars i just don't see the point anymore.... yea the truth is coming out but the majority is willingly and happily enslaved, i'll bet more than half your viewers still blindly vote ALP or LNP or at least one of their cohorts(eg, the sack dan andrews party was actually an pro dan party all votes went to him) australians just aren't serious about freedom and limited controlled government sadly australia is dead......

It'll be sad to see the "Griffs Turbo Sedan" out of the picture but life and priorities change. Hope you and your wife have been good

This would be a crazy car to see in the USA. I’d love to see where it goes from here and how the new owners will take over the project.
😢. Big decision but I get it. Loved watching all your developments and will keep watching whatever you put out. Good luck Jase.

Sounds like a solid plan. I really look forward to seeing the old come back to life.
2Dr, Sweet!! Sounds like a good plan to me!!!! 👍💪
I called it a scam 3months into it the whole thing. good on you for seeing the light mate.
Great to hear from you wish we’ll change is 👍
Be good to put the ute engine in the 4 door and back on the road
Those HQ seats are sort after by Q guys at the moment. Their sale could fund a nice set of HX seats and even pay for their retrim :)
Look forward to more videos mate 👍

Good decision on the part out to be honest
Great content mate
I have an oil pump issue could the small one way valve cause issues ??

I'm sure someone will one day, just not me💛
