As a local resident I enjoyed this video, the history of the Bristol Harbour Railway can be found in smatterings but rarely is it consolidated into one place like this. Even the M Shed doesn't outline its history so succinctly. Great job!
0:54 an alternate history where the GWR had some sort of trackage in the US via shipping would be interesting. It'd be cool to see someone do a model RR set in the late 19th century where that happened. The equipment could be NA standard but with "quirks" of thr GWR (Belpaire fireboxes, green boilers, etc)
At my local heritage railway we have been restoring the western fuels diesel shunter. Nearly finished cosmetically into the PBA blue although missing the skirts. Currently awaiting a clutch repair
4:58 Fun note: Looks like you caught John King out when she was being used as the setting for the music video of "Mary Ellen Carter" by The Longest Johns, a fantastic Bristol-based shanty band.

Portbury needs a overhaul which takes forever
Great video mate. I'm Bristolian and have been riding the trains at the harbour since I was a child.
The descriptions of this railway sound like a steam dream.
I used I.W&D Portbury as the basis for my Thomas OC!
This one of the best series I’ve ever seen lol
The name of this vid is perfect
always wanted the railways that worked alongside the canals back.

5:12 CAN we hear more about the boats?
Brilliant gude rail video, I've heard about the Bristol harbour railway and would love to visit it. :)
The most interesting thing that I've seen was the unusual looking rail seen at 3:01 and 3:14.
As of late the longer line going towards Ashton gate/Cumberland basin that stretch of line is no longer in use and talks into pulling it up
