7:40 fun fact: there's a mod (Ultimate Warband something) that adds the mechanic to other factions as well, and an add-on mod lets you promote units into Regiments of Renown so you can turn your lowly Saurus Warriors into Temple Guardians, for example
Archaon is one of the strongest Lords for a reason. Once he reach a certain threshold, the guy is virtually invincible. One way to get out of that situation is to kite the man while the rest of your units killed his army and force him into army loss, then immediately auto-resolve to put him down.
51:30 What Kleaper is talking about IS a very specific Chaos thing, HOWEVER, some factions DO get certain kinds of buffs from very specific trade buildings. Example 1; the meadows/farmlands buildings increase growth and replenishment for pretty much everybody, but the Skaven get an extra benefit from having an increased Food supply. Example 2: The Iron Mine building chain for the Empire will give benefits to Swordsmen, Greatswords, and Knights, but on a more limited scale compared to the faction buffs that Chaos factions get. (Tier 3 Empire Iron Mine = -3% reduced upkeep for those 3 units across the faction, and IF you recruit any of those units IN the specific region that Iron Mine is in, they are 30% cheaper to recruit, and start 2 ranks higher than normal. For double casting, it is the most effective for buff and debuff spells, because it will make the effects generally AoE instead of a single unit, so you can buff all units in a section of the frontline or even debuff all the enemies in the front.
Warriors of Chaos used to SUCK ASS in Warhammer 1 and 2. Regarding your question regarding late gane uber buffed units, there are very few comparable to how Archaeon buff chosen. The Obviuos choice is Chaos Dwarfs, since both tech tree and arms system give out LUDICROUS buffs that allow them to duel fairly Ikit in a range fight without the downside of low health and leadership. A way more weirder example that nobody brings up because it's insanely long and hard to pull is Nakai the wanderer, because he can straight up BUY blessed units and buff them a lot between ability, skill tree, technology tree and blessing. Problem is Nakai campaign is painfully slow and boring. Lastly, an honorable mention goes to Taurox, because beside buffing Minotaur himself the Minotaur hero has 3 different ways to buff Minotaur units who are exclusive to each other. So with 3 Minotaur heroes you can pump those bulls to ridicolous level.
