With cockatiels and budgies, the similarities in personality seem to outweigh the differences most of the time,
and the two can become fast friends. the cockatiel is often the easygoing
one of the duo, while the budgie takes the leadership role. This doesn't always hold true.
When a cockatiel and a budgie both have dominant personalities or don't have a tolerance for other birds in their territories,
they may not ever get along well enough to share a cage.

I have a budgie since September. He hasn't used his cage since November. My budgie joins in on showers sometimes. He loves the freedom.
The thought of putting him in a cage is sad. Once my new house is built I might get a cockatiel to be his friend. Wondering how much it would be to have 2 free flying birds full time.
I got 2 cocktails and I had my budgie since summer, the big cocktails bite the budgie and I am so scared he will do something. Please tell me what to do
Keep budgie and cocktail in separate cage but the cage should be together
@@vedanthjagtap8984 yes, we have been keeping them like that for a while now. I take them out together sometimes and I think they are getting to know each other. Thank you for your comment, at least I know that I am doing the right thing :)

@@vedanthjagtap8984of course! It’s easy to tame a bird u just have to have patience! The first day u get it let it be in its cage for a while so it can understand and feel safe in its cage. After one week try to put your hand slightly on the roof or the walls of the cage and don’t move in like 5 mins (the longer the better) and after maybe 2 weeks it should feel better around you! Try to then slowly put food in your hand and day after day go closer to the bird and when its scared try to back up a little. After some time it should be eating from your hand! Try this process and tell me if it works!!
