Kring Point State Park Adventures On Our 20th Wedding Anniversary

Dutch oven vegetable and chicken casserole
1 green bell pepper
1 red bell pepper
1 sweet Vidalia onion
1.5 pounds of baby potatoes
1 package of powdered ranch dressing mix
2 pounds of chicken tenderloins
½ tsp. Mrs. Dash
¼ tsp. Laureys seasoned salt
¼ tsp. Garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1-2 tbsp. canola oil
1-4 tbsp. flour
8-12 ounces shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Cut green pepper, red pepper, onion and potatoes into chunks. Add Mrs. Dash, seasoned salt, garlic powder, salt, pepper and oil and mix well. In a separate bowel or zip lock bag mix the chicken with salt, pepper and ranch dressing mix and set aside in refrigerator. Add the vegetable mixture to the dutch oven, put on dutch oven lid and cook over fire for 45 minutes stirring occasionally or until the vegetables are soft. Then add the chicken tenderloins to the cooked vegetable mixture, mix well and put lid back on the dutch oven. Cook the mixture for an additional 30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through. Add flour and mix until any remaining liquid is thickened. Add the shredded cheddar cheese, mix and reheat until the cheese is melted. Enjoy.

My wife camped at Kring Point a lot when she was young. We actually plan a trip up there over the coming weekend, leaving in a few hours, she wants to "check it out" to see if its changed any since she was a kid. I enjoyed watching your video. What an absolutely incredible place. I love you sat outside for the rain storm.
The bike your husband has reminds me of being young and renting those bikes on the pacific coast (Oregon/ Washingto) and it was the highlight of my camping trips as a kid.
We have a waterfront spot booked next month and I’m so excited!

I'm 68 now, but almost every summer growing up my family vacationed at Kring Point. A few of my Father's IBMer coworker friends would plan to go there the last 2 weeks of July. They would waterski during the day and we would fish at night by the Goose Bay Inlet near Lone Pine Island. We usually had good luck. Always enjoyed the beauty all around you there. At that time there were always many kids our age (grade school). Great memories with my parents there.

We came through this area earlier this year and lucked out and got a spot for 4 days. It was a great state park. Beautiful sunsets. Bugs were bad.....but we found if you spray the awning with Permethrin that helped a bunch. Great views. Also some good fishing off the points !!! Love the state park. Thanks for sharing.
