This is the type of atmosphere I want to work in. Being in Japan all these years working in their schools where stuff like this is the norm and then working in an environment opposite of that by returning home (US) is frustrating. I definitely want to work in a Montessori school setting or a place that implements this.
Whew... I'm tired just watching this activity...these children can do far more than what we, as adults, think. They just need a safe place to try/do it all!
Thank you for the clarification I work as an assistant in a newly established school in a toddler classroom We just have laminated placemats but love the clear table cover that you put over the cloth ones such a great idea! We have young toddlers and they don't know yet how to sweep or clean up their lunch yet. Just love your classroom and welcoming environment The director at our school doesn't know toddlers well and so we don't have the practical life like cloth washing or dishwashing like I would like to. But it a work in progress and the children are a piece of work but love them dearly
One of the most amazing thing to see is a fully functional Montessori school! Absolutely lovely! May I ask you where you got those special knives/cutting equipment the children are using preparing the snack? Thank you and keep up the brilliant work. ❤️
Love the video I had a question about the lunch what do you put over the placemats is that like a clear tablecloth like a picnic tablecloth material? are the placemats cloth? The children don't wipe up their spills or crumbs? Why are their assigned seats? Love the independence the children are showing and how gracefully they are with the materials. Oh by the way love the little couch!
It is a clear, plastic piece of vinyl that covers the cloth placemats. Keeps the placemats clean for longer. You will see a little blue pail and sponge being used to clean their spills at the table and a little red dust pan and brush for crumbs. They use their name tags to choose a place at the table so they know where to set their place - helps with orientation. The video didn't capture everything. We tried.
True, this is possibly the case, but they start teaching this at 1 and 2. You build up the skills. The stuff shown in this video is probably the end result.
1 2 or 3 doesn't matter they do way more than my ex husband's twins that are 10 and don't do nothing at all at home and go crazy of you ask them to do something they just want to be on the phone.
I see peace, concentration, responsibilities, respect and cuteness overflowed.
Stunning. Just the way a little community should be. Well done to the Team. These children are truly independent.

こども一人ひとりが出来た事がうれしいと感じる充実感と楽しさが伝わります!
Wish I could get my class of 16 - 2 year olds with 8:1ratio ( with 3 pretty sever spectrum kids) to this level. Goals!
Amazing!

Great video!!!
Are you sure these kids are between 18 to 24 months of age? They seem to be above 24 months.
Akshay Sangwan they definitely don't look less than 2. My kids are miniatures if they are.
Tamika Beauvil same here.
I am a Montessori Teacher and was watching this and wondering why these '1-2' year olds look like the 3-4s in my class.
children vary in size, plus all of the furniture is child size so that they can have easier access
The filmmaker was a Mom in our school who did it independently. She meant 1 and 2.
So structured
Always amazes me
wow, this is my dream for my children
Amazing video! Can you tell me where you bought your tables and dish washing station (I am guessing someone made it)? Thank you!
Our tables and wash stands were all made by a local carpenter. They are all sturdy yet light enough for the children to carry.
amazing... never subestimate children
Do you know the maker of your tables? They are gorgeous and looks like they are relatively easy to move. Thank you

Looooove this :)
Amazing 😉
They are not between 1 and 2 year old for sure.
children vary in size, people thought my 3 year old sister was 5
I agree, they look 2-3
Wow
These children and almost 3 it is misleading. Don’t advertise as nido if not
