What a timely video for me. I just bought a Honda 5hp, 65 pounder, and mounting the motor tomorrow. I was considering backing my CP23 to the dock like you did. Nice to see how easy it was. 👍🏼#26 from me.

Exactly what I was looking for. Our 5hp Tohatsu needs minor maintenance (impeller & lower unit oil change) but I'm not going to haul my Catalina 25 just to pull the outboard. Instead, I'll back into the slip as you have done, tie off a safety line and get a strong dock neighbor to help get it onto the dock. It's a little heavier than yours and my replacement 6hp that I'll put back on the boat is even heavier. Thought I might have to rent some kind of hoist, but I think this is doable. Thanks for posting the video!

Hi, if you are mechanically inclined, and the motor is out of warranty, it will be a good idea to get familiar with carburetor cleaning yourself. It is not that difficult, and it will free you of being dependent of mechanics. Keep posting.

Thanks! It's certainly on the list. I'd actually fiddled around with the engine some in footage that didn't make the cut. It ended up needing some tuning and other adjustments that are still a little beyond my skill set.
